you guys really think they would do a challenge immediately after the Duel 2 then Cancun then another challenge? I don't think so.
Why wouldn't they?
From what I heard the RW Cancun will start right after the Duel 2. My guess for the start of this challenge would be around the same time the Island started! I would say Sept.
It wouldn't be able too happen, at least I think. The Duel 2 is following the two elimination per episode, and with 6 in the final, that would be 8 more episodes plus a reunion, which takes us into July. If Cancun, air right afterwards, then that shouldn't end till September. I say October, but possibly September.

Who said that?
I'm confused with how The Duel 2 would only be 9 episodes. If it continues with the rate of having one guy and one girl eliminated each episode, it would be 11 episodes. The first 10 episodes have a player eliminated, and the 11th episode would be the final challenge.

That makes sense. I was thinking 13 because of RW, but I didn't factor in the elimination format. I would guess the nine episode guess was from either thinking about the typical 16 or so half hour episodes and it being cut in half due to hour episodes, or maybe because of a couple of back to back hour episodes of G3 being shown (which made the season air a few weeks less?).
So, the last week in June would probably be the end, then, unless they broke the finale into two parts or some other episode.

Ok I thought Duel 1 had 2 males and 2 females in the final?! So that would put Cancun starting later than July and Cancun will need 14 weeks to air, so at least a November or December for The Pit air date.
So why film a challenge so early cause the reunion will air around a year after filming?! I think they filmed Duel 2 late last summer so why film them so early?

You are wrong! They filmed the duel 2 the end of October to the begining of December.

That's what I'm talking about. I don't like it when they film a challenge too early. For reasons I mentioned earlier, as well as a possible slight lost buzz/momentum and also the issues or anger might not be as fresh with the cast by the time the reunion rolls around. Plus I wonder how it would affect the flow of speaking engagements/bar events for the cast.

Not all that long ago BMP had contacted some cast members about the next challenge being in the Jun/July time frame. They did change the schedule. They are shooting early mostly for financial reasons I'm told. The sooner BMP shoots, the sooner MTV pays them. Cash flow is vital for an engine like BMP to sustain itself. BMP, llike almost everyone else, is having a tough time weathering the recession.
As as side note, it is interesting that they have elected to do this challenge at the beginning of the rainy season. On average, they will experience rain on just about 1/3 of the days and the rains can be monsoonal. In my experience in Southeast Asia, from April to October nothing ever gets dry.

You got me on that one! I was close bc September would be considered late summer!

Thanks for the info! I understand the need for money but it seems like they have always filmed really early compared to when it airs.
Well, there has to be time for editing and such- it's a lot of footage to go through....
That's the point I was trying to get across earlier. But people can be very impatient.

I still don't think you completely understand what some of us (or just me) were trying to say, actually. We understand they need time for editing. Of course they do. I do remember they aired Inferno 2 just under two months after they filmed it, though, so they are capable of editing things quickly. They have also aired RW seasons a couple of months after filming wrapped. I'm sure it's better to have more a little more time to edit, though, but Inferno 2 was to me an example of a challenge that was good within the short editing time. I am using past examples as points of reference. It's not just based off of nothing. And it's not just an impatient thing, as I explained earlier. And in any case of impatience, it's not so much a "I need to see this now because there hasn't been a challenge in a while," it's a "wow, this challenge filmed a long time ago, there are spoilers out there, and I'm curious, especially when people are hinting that something good happened." I would be fine if they wanted the challenge after The Pit to air in December 2010, it's just the issue of it being filmed nearly a year before it airs that feels odd to me. Without knowing the behind the scenes info, there wouldn't be thought about it, but when you have all of this information throught the Internet today, and it's a case of reality tv as well, it's a different feel to me.
Thanks V1Man for the information about the cash flow. Helps me to understand more.
Ironically I was thinking a while ago about a name of the future name and thought about "The Pit" but thought it was silly sounding. Oops lol I am glad to see another challenge coming out.
Me too molds. I'm thinking it's where the faceoffs will take place.
I am with you, it sounds kinda scary and fun all at the same time! I can't wait to find out who will be on this challenge!!!!!!!
Is it possible it will be simular to Fresh Meat? The Pit worries me that we may see the return of a Pit Crew.
I kind of want another challenge like that. Where the teams are guy/girl pairs.
Is it possible it will be simular to Fresh Meat? The Pit worries me that we may see the return of a Pit Crew.
I've never really understood the dislike for Fresh Meat. The cast was boring, not the format. If they tweaked the idea of the Exile a little bit and cast some interesting people, Fresh Meat 2 could be a solid challenge.
As for this 'Pit' idea, I am not getting good vibes. It seems like it will be a little too much like the Island. I think they really need to do another team challenge at this point.
I hope this means that there will be some Pit Crew members from RR: Viewers Revenge casted. I hope.
No. lol. Those guys are out there with Jesse the MTV VJ, never to return to public light unless they get a DUI or something. ;)
I would also like to see a pairs challenge, though not like Fresh Meat. I didn't like how on the first fresh meat there were only 12 alumni.
I also think they should do a teams thing where it is based on where you season was: Western USA, Eastern USA, and International (RW: Paris, RW: Sydney, some Road Rules, and RW: London (London is doubtful).
What about a challenge with 3 teams, and the two losing teams in each mission have to send someone from their team into an elimination style challenge. Or instead of one person, maybe a boy and girl pair and they must compete together.
