I just got my hands on the Season 1 box set. I can't wait to get started. I watched like 20 min of the pilot but had to stop.
Gonna bang it out all weekend. I've been wanting to watch this f o r e v e r. No spoilers pleaaaase.
I have been looking at this. Give me your honest review after a few episodes and then I'll decide if it is a leap I want to make.
I'm currently sucked into Rome...
I watched all 5 seasons over the Summer and it's a very good show! Let me know what you think of it. The very last episode of the series is the best series finale that I have ever seen and probably ever will see.
Check it out Bacchus! I don't think you'll be disappointed. :)
RSV, I need an update. I am 3 episodes in and think it is.......ok.
I am not sure if I am going to move on to the next disk, or call it a wash. I think there is a good cast and an interesting premise, but I find it to be slow moving and a bit, umm...boring?
Maybe it gets better.

Maybe it gets better.
SFU is amazing but I would say that if it didn't grab you from the beginning you probably will end up losing interest eventually. This isn't one of those shows "that grow on you", from most people I've talked to either they liked it from the first episode or never got into it at all. I do have to say though that very few people I've spoken to did not fall in love with it, but different strokes for different folks.

I watched episode 4 today and then decided to throw disk 2 and 3 back into the netflix envelope and move on to Entourage...
I can see why people would like the show, but I don't think it is my cup of tea for a few reasons:
1. I am not that into the premise. Funeral home humor just doesn't strike my funny bone.
2. I don't think the female lead is attractive so it is hard to get into her. I like to be able to project and in this case I can't.
3. Michael C. Hall is Dexter, ****it! Not this other guy.
4. The pacing is very, very slow.
5. The mother annoys me as a character. The same can be said for the younger daughter.
Bacchus - I'm waiting for my gf to finish S1 so we can move on to S2.
Having watched Season 1 in full, I have to say that I love the pacing and the characters. It's the most realistic drama I've seen in a long time - the humor is hit or miss, and it's VERY subtle...so I can see that not being for everyone. But the characters and the relationships between them / how they deal with the dad's death....all very realistic.
I'm in LOVE with SFU so far. Bummer you aren't...but kudos for giving it a shot!
Bahhh so I love SFU and Dead Like Me and you gave up on both! bummer man! haha When can we get you to watch Firefly!? =)
I know I would like it, but being it was canceled without concluding I don't want to start!
If you watch the series on dvd (all 13 episodes) and then watch the feature film "Serenity", you have one complete and full season/series =)
(Just sayin'!)
Frak! I stuck those disks in the mail box and the mail man left them and then dumped in all my mail on top!
Maybe it was a sign, being now it is too late to send them back to get more movies this week. Guess I'll have to watch them. :D
I actually started SFU and thought it was boring so I stopped watching it after the first disc. I just couldn't get into it. About a year later, I decided to give it another try because of Michael C. Hall. I'm really glad I did too because it ended up growing on me and now it's one of my favorite (if not favorite) shows.
RSV...you have a good taste in TV Shows! I love Dead Like Me and Firefly as well. I own all three of these shows on DVD. :D

Bacchus - IT IS A SIGN! And look what Brandon said - he stopped and started again and now loves it!
And Brandon - thanks! haha I'm bumping Season 2 Disc 1 to the top of my queue so I'll be watching more next week!
started season 2....maybe someone who's seen the entire series can answer this question...
In season 1..it was David mostly talking to the dead people and seeing them everywhere, right? And now it's Nate because of the issues he's going through....
Does every season change? Like, does a new character find him or herself affected by the visions and so forth because of something going on in their lives?
I just watched the Series Finale and I don't think I've ever been so moved by a show....ever.
One episode in the last season have me crying like a ******* BABY...and i NEVER cry at shows or movies. Ever.
This show really forces its characters to face their own fears and mortality, and as a result, forces its audience to do the same. I felt like the Fischers' losses were my own, and often times reminded me of my own losses.
A+ television. A+++.
