Supernatural

It's hands down my favorite scripted show on television right now, so criminally underrated. Most forums I go to are filled with fangirls that spend too much time talking about Dean's eyelashes or the creepy ******* thing. Most shows fall off after the first season but this show keeps getting better in mho, I love the mythology they are creating and twists and turns the plot keeps taking. Please tell me someone else out there is watching this show!

I absolutely love this show! I never miss it. It's amazing. I'm so happy you started this thread!!!!!
:yahoo: I'm so excited I'm not the only one Insider! What do you think about all the angel/religious mythology they've inserted this season?

Actually, I find it very interesting. It was already a great show. The new spin they've put on it def adds some depth and mystery though. Instead of just endlessly battling supernatural beings, they have a more specific purpose now.
Okay I'll step out and say I love Supernatural...it is just the type of show I am drawn too. Originally I was worried about the storyline this season as people tend to shy away when shows get into that but honestly I think they have done it well and I am definitely interested.
I love this show. Not a teen girl...but I loooooove Dean! (sorry just had to say it) Jensen is really pulling out his acting chops this season. If it wasn't a paranormal/sci fi show and on The CW, I'd say that's emmy worthy. But you know how it goes.... This last episode was phenomenal, Rob Benedict was perfect as the author/prophet. He's always been a great scene stealer. I'm real worried about the direction they are going with Sam, but I have to have faith that he'll do the right thing in the end. I hope we have many more seasons of the Winchester brothers, but again The CW (formerly the WB)...not known for keeping shows past the 5 year mark.
Yea more people! Kathleen - I get annoyed with the rabid supernatural fangirls and their automatic hatred of any love interest that comes on the show. . .but yes it hasn't escaped my attention that Jensen has adorable freckles and a really nice back hahahaha. And yes, Dean is hot. He and Jared have both pulled out the acting chops this season. I really am enjoying seeing Sam go dark and that whole road to hell paved with good intentions storyline and Dean has definitely had a lot of emotional heavy lifting this season. The way that they've set up the relationship/bond between the brothers is what makes this season to me so fascinating to watch. The show has just the right amount of humor and tension and despite what I consider to be fairly unrealistic premises (I know that's up for debate for some) it still comes across as incredibly believeable. I ask about the angels mythology because I thought last weeks episode was absolutely brillant the shoutout to the fans was pitch perfect but the gospel of Winchester twist had my mouth hitting the floor and Castiel finding some sort of angel contract loophole to help Dean added a whole new dynamic as well. The prophet Chuck was a great addition (hope to see more of him). To me it was such a cool and creative set up, and I agree that it gives the boys a mission beyond just driving around killing demons. But then some people have said they feel that it is going to far with the religious themes and the angel rebellion. I loved Uriel and I thought it was cool that he was kind of mean but could still be on the side of "right" so I was disappointed when they killed him off but I do find it intriguing this concept that angels despite supposedly not having free will can still have the same struggles and issues have humans. Though honestly if they didn't have free will then Uriel couldn't have staged a coup and Anna couldn't have pulled her grace out but I won't dwell. Also one of my friends complained that the show seems to beat people over the head with this concept that you can never change destiny. If that is so than it makes trying to do anything an essentially useless exercise since the chips are still going to fall a specific way no matter what. There aren't very many shows that I give thought to after watching but for me Supernatural is one of those shows. I think it's being wasted over on the Teens R Us chanel.
I am a fan of this show aswell. I love this season and how everything is going. It seems like Sam and Dean are both in dark places right now.

I think maybe they are saying that Dean was destined for this. I dunno that it means everyone has a specific road to travel. Last week, I was slightly confused. Castiel makes it sound like Dean will undoubtedly save mankind. If that's the case, what did Chuck see that made him want to warn Sam and Dean? Also, what is the creature's name that said Chuck couldn't tell?
I think maybe they are saying that Dean was destined for this. I dunno that it means everyone has a specific road to travel.
Good point, and I agree.
Last week, I was slightly confused. Castiel makes it sound like Dean will undoubtedly save mankind. If that's the case, what did Chuck see that made him want to warn Sam and Dean? Also, what is the creature's name that said Chuck couldn't tell?
My theory is that in order to save mankind, Dean is going to have kill Sam. I believe that episode when the siren got Sam and Dean to turn on each other and Dean was two seconds from taking an axe to Sam's head, was foreshadowing. I got chills when Dean said "tell me again how weak I am." I think it was to show that when it comes down to it, Dean is capable of killing Sam and ultimately will if that's the only alternative.
Wow, that gave me the chills. I think you're definitely onto something here. The Angels keep telling Dean that he is the only one that can save mankind. We see Sam, week after week training trying to get stronger and stronger so he can beat Lilith. And as he told Chuck, he feels that he is the one that has to and will end it all. It will be brother against brother in the final battle. And I have no doubt that Dean can and will kill Sam to save the world. There is a reason that the Angels are so weary of Sam, like they are keeping something from Dean. They know how it will all go down. Is it Thursday yet?

Oh my goodness. You guys may be right. Sam is going to cross over to the dark side. Perhaps Sam has his own destiny that involved the other team. Maybe that's why Sam was always the one who wasn't interested in dropping his life to slay the bad guys. Maybe, that was the whole point of the demons visit to their home when he was a baby. Ooooh, this is getting deep!!
Oh wow, when you guys put it that way it sounds like Dean was always destined to be almost like the second/first coming of Christ and Sam was always destined to be almost like the Antichrist. Maybe that's why that demon sought out Mary. . .oh damn it just hit me, their mom's name is MARY! Mary was meant to give birth to the second/first coming Dean so the demons or lucifer made that crossroads deal with her so that her second child (Sam) could be the Antichrist to ultimately try to take Dean down. That's why Ruby is getting him all hopped up on demon blood. Whoa. I don't know maybe that was too extreme, it would be bananas if that's where they're taking all this though. . .

I think you're onto something Binary. It will be interesting to watch all of this unfold.
I've been considering watching this. I hear great things!
I've been considering watching this. I hear great things!
It's a great show, I highly recommend watching the current and previous seasons (well season 1 was hit and miss but seasons 2 and 3 were pretty good and this season I think has been amazing). I think because its on the CW and the lead actors look like they could be in a boy band, they don't reach as wide of an audience as they should. People who liked X Files and/or Whedonesque story telling (minus, unfortunately, strong female characters) I think will like this show. I'll probably Netflix it eventually! I'll check to see if its on Hulu

Is anyone else watching?
I watched it and I must say I liked the episode. Turns out he really was their 3rd brother and yet the ghouls got to him. Next week looks awesome.
I watched! I have to be honest and say I was underwhelmed, I liked the idea of them having a third brother and the feelings that it invoked in Dean knowing that this other kid had the kind of life and opportunities he never did. Also I liked the end when Dean said that Sam was just like their father and he should take that any way he wants to. Also they shouted out my alma mater (UWisc) so that made me happy. But in comparison to the other stellar episodes they've had this season and the hiatus (I think the third this year) it was kind of a let down. But next week looks fantastic and it marks the return of my guy Castiel.
So Supernatural was insane last night, Sam is like a full out blood junkie now, those scenes when he was going through withdrawals were just crazy. And Castiel breaking him out was shady, I guess it's to fulfill's Chuck's prophecy but it still wasn't right. So now Sam's all superjuiced and aggro, he's got like RW CT style roid rage. For a second it almost looked like he was going to kill Dean. So it's official, the brothers are no longer a team and next show's previews show Sam getting into almost full on Demon mode. I have a feeling someone or several someones aren't going to make it to next season, I hope Dean kills Ruby the first chance he gets. Can't wait for the season finale.
So it's offical...Sam and Dean are no longer the team of brothers going out and dealing with various supernatural beings. There against one another and it's going to get REALLY ugly soon. I can't wait for the season finale.
So not gonna lie was a bit. . .underwhelmed by the finale. Also didn't care for the whole God doesn't care and angels are evil storyline. I guess we'll see how it all pans out next season.
