V1, I was browsing a site a few days ago, and cannot for the life of me think of what site, but one person said that Brooklyn was the third highest rated season of the Real World ever, which led me to do a double take. That isn't true, is it? I haven't been keeping up with ratings, and while I don't expect them to be poor, I certainly wouldn't expect the third best season ratings wise. Thanks in advance. :)
Las Vegas was probably the highest. Chicago/San Diego/Austin/Hollywood were high too.
Las Vegas was probably the highest. Chicago/San Diego/Austin/Hollywood were high too.
I thought Chicago was the highest.
Chicago might have had the highest individual episode but I think the overall highest rated season was probably LV
Probably, might have, thought/think ... it gives me a headache. First you have to define the ratings by bounding it according to the way Nielsen counted then and now... It's different -- apples and oranges. Some historic numbers include 12-18 and others 18-34 and still others 18-49. New ratings methodology counts 18-34 plus SD (same day dvr viewing), others 18-34 with 7 day dvr numbers. It's like a damn Chinese menu and I'm not that hungry. Frankly, I've given up trying to explain anything historical because someone will bite at my ankles about it. Someone is bound to post some number from the Chicago or Vegas season, without the defining Nielsen context. It won't be at all comparable. The only thing that makes sense is to look at the current season, week-to-week and then look at its ranking compared to other current shows, week-to-week. MTV says the show is doing well and holding its audience which is one reason they began promoting the next challenge last week. They are, however, very aware that there was more buzz about the challenge trailer than there was for last week's episode.

The word of the challenge is going out and its now up to the audience if they want to watch... Which they probably will by the comments I've read over at mtv.com.

I feel like this season could've been a ball park hit if they showed the good stuff. The dailies are great and half of the things heard about behind the scenes never even get shown. Laaaaaame. Who is in that editing room? Kick that guy out.

The video editor simply put the video clips together as directed to create the most complete 40 minute of TV possible. Ultimately, it is the executive producer who is responsible. You can leave a message for him (I have) on his weekly blog area accessible from the dailies site.
Let's not forget Baya's "You've know her for a week and a half and you're already ridiculing her" from the trailer.
Tvbythenumbers.com didn't include RW:BK in the ratings as som1 there posted. :(((

Even though this season is what the real world is supposed to be about, I feel like it lacks the drama that makes the show entertaining. There's been little drama but nothing that exciting.

I agree with the majority on this one. Brooklyn started real good then kind of fell off the wagon. I like all the cast members don't get me wrong, but it missed the spark. A lot of people don't like Ryan & Chet but they brought humor, which is exactly what the season needed. I thought this season was gonna be great like Hollywood was.

But the viewers have dropped dramatically due to what you said. It was good at first but ehh not the good later. The viewers for ep.10 didnt even reach the 1,500,000 mark.

I don't mind people getting drunk and hooking up as long as there is at least some other substance to the show. We had that with Hollywood.

Hawaii had partying and there was some kissing with the castmembers. But there was still a non-immature environment in between the cast. I think Hawaii is the best season hands down... Hopefuly Brooklyn will prove everyone wrong in the episodes to come (Hopefully, even thought theres like 2 left)

I started watching cause Coral got me hooked on her season. My friend said Hawaii was the best too! These last two episodes might be good, but I doubt people are going to be like "OMG that was such a great season, those last two episodes were amazing."
Reminder -- the topic here is RW Brooklyn Ratings. If you are writing something unrelated to that topic, you are in the wrong place. Please stay on topic or create a new thread of substance.

But yeah, the ratings for Brooklyn this week were just ... bad, and also a season of The Real World like Brooklyn won't please everyone. There will always be someone not agreeing with the seasons path or just don't like the season. Hopefully Cancun will be interesting but with substance as well. But as V1 stated above lets stay on topic.
Tvbythenumbers.com didn't include RW:BK in the ratings as som1 there posted. ((
He did say it did not outdraw That’s So Raven in total viewers - which means it fell off a cliff. So it is down at least 300,000 viewers - 20% week to week - maybe more. It is definitively hemorrhaging viewers at this point in the season. I am sure MTV executives are looking forward to The Duel II.

Well it's starting to get on my nerves. I feel like there are only 3 cast members. They made a huge mistake making it an 8 member cast. Stick with 7 please.

I'm starting to get dissappointed with the way these ratings have gone.

The Executive Producer had been telling people that the last three episodes were the best of the season. Unfortunately, he did such a crap job with the episodes in the middle of the season pitting the women against the men and forgetting about their goal story lines, that the audience had already left for more interesting pastures. Fire Jim Johnson now before the DC season is in full pre-production.
So are you saying that season 23 will be in DC for sure?
I wrote in another thread that I am officially predicting season 23 will be in DC based in info coming out of the casting process, an conversation I had with Jon Murray last December and a rumble or two from inside BMP.
