The Amazing Race: Ep. 4 - Discussion

I can't wait for the wood piling. As someone who had to pile 10 cords (twice) every summer throughout my childhood, I am looking for a little karmic payback in the form of them failing and me laughing. :D

Somone will get completely stuck on the roadblock, or will get lost on their way to the pit-stop which gives Kris and Amanda just enough time to complete the U-turn and not get eliminated!

Wow. I never expected Kris and Amanda to get eliminated this soon! I can understand going for them if you were fighting for the final spot, but knowing there were multiple teams behind you then U-turning a team you seemed to be on good terms with is a little shady in my book. Definitely agree that Margie and Luke just took a dive :( At least I still have Mel and Mike!

I thought it was a smart move for Margie and Luke. I liked Kris & Amanda too but they were definitely a token young couple team that would have made the final three 9 times out of 10. Plus they didn't know how long the shutter-building detour would take and they wanted to ensure the preservation of their alliance with Jamie & Cara. So I thought it was a well thought out move

If they were looking to give Jamie and Cara more time, I would've U-turned Tammy and Victor. It may not have gotten them eliminated, but if their sole purpose was just to give one team more leeway, that could have been a better move, considering they didn't know where some of the other teams were (ahead or behind). From their commentary, it sounded like they were looking to knock a team out. I'm sad to see them go. I thought they were a great level-headed team. I also agree that Margie and Luke's stock dropped a little...but they're still the team I'm rooting for, with Mel and Mike.

Their move was a knockout blow (as they had just seen Kris & Amanda knock down their wood pile.) Tammy and Victor were finishing up and would have been in last place, just behind the other 3 teams at the other detour. It would have been a good finish. Instead, they U-Turned the team that was already in last place by a good amount, which is never a cool thing to do. So, yes - it was a good move if they wanted to ensure that Kris & Amanda were eliminated, but I don't think it was a good move, karmicly. I expect the God(s) will exact revenge and soon!

For a minute I kind of thought that Amanda and Kris had a chance when Mike and Mark didn't have enough money for their taxi. Luke and Margie deffinetly aren't my favorite people at the moment. I guess I'm pulling for Mel and Mike and Jamie and Cara now.
