Yes that is what I meant. Remember they are all new, they don't really understand each other too well yet. So he probably does not know that his wrong deeds are actually WRONG
That's actually what I was going to say. I can't say that I wouldn't have done the same thing though, I probably wouldn't have really thought it through either. Still, I'll wait for the episode before I say anything else about it.
I don't think anyone is trying to change you opinion of JD Tomackze, don't worry. I think they are just more surprised that you seem to see nothing wrong with hurting other people to get over your own hurt and pain...At least that is what I gathered from your post, but I could be reading it with the wrong tone. I could be wrong though :D
Perhaps some of our reactions are negative as the result of what one could call spoiler information. The dilemma is that some of us would like to tell Tomzckze that he/she is flat *** wrong with regard to JD seeing his behavior as a learning experience (as apart from how normal people interact with others in a respectful way), but that would be giving away future episode info and where things stand among cast members since the end of taping just before Thanksgiving.
I certainly hope "Saywhat" stops by to offer her opinion since she visited the house and knows the cast and this issue.
I don't know, the whole slanted editing thing is keeping me from coming down on him too harshly but some of the stuff he's done has left a little bit of a sour taste in my mouth. Outing Katelynn when you're drunk is sloppy but mildly more forgiveable than prefacing it with: Katelynn is nothing compared my friend. Why does she have to be nothing, wtf is that about? It's so unnecessary to me.
And the stuff with Devyn also. I agree with Scott that if this is what you want to do with your life, you should always be ready, and in fact while Devyn probably wasn't her best she certainly held her own. It certainly wasn't as horrifying a moment as say Krazie on flavor of love 2 claiming to be a singer and then getting blasted by Deelishis (bonus points if you know wtf I'm talking about haha). But why would you tell someone that is supposedly your friend and has aspirations of being a singer essentially that they suck in comparasion to your other friend who is the greatest transexual in the history of transexuals (which I have to disagree but that's a whole other conversation) in a club full of people? Then stand by cheering on the allegedly greastest transexual in the world in what was clearly a cheap on camera attempt to relive her glory days as an American Idol reject at the expense of your other supposed friend? It's just inappropriate and rude. I'm not even going to get started on the immigrant rant. There's just an undercurrent of maliciousness in some of the things that he has done that bothers me more than the actual events in and of themselves (if that makes sense).
Nevertheless there are a lot of things that I like about JD and I hope to see more of the positive stuff because as of this moment i don't see him as a total villian. Though yeah some of the stuff I've heard in the spoiler threads definitely give me pause. . .
It really didn't seem to me like he was trying to be offensive, I think he was just joking around. He probably thought, in his drunken state, that he was just being funny. I did kind of love his drunken response to Katelynn's confrontation that night, the bowl of lucky charms made it even funnier. I think almost everyone has done something they regret while drinking, it's just something he needs to work on.

How about we wait till next week before we start analyzing what will happen in the future (or past depending on how you look at it). But as for what you said about the previous episodes, I agree to some extent. JD should be allowed to make the same mistakes everyone does in this learning experience, one can't be allowed to make a different error each week. Personally, I have had a negative impression of JD from week 1, and his actions have only made it worse.

What gave you a negative impression of him on week 1?
JD has really disappointed me. The first episode has me thinking he would be a good guy. But he has just been showing bad sides to him. Hopefully he will get another edit to show some insight into his drinking even though he has no excuse.
Sarah its amazing to hear from you and you are so inspirational and strong. I've felt that someone like you has been missing from this show for a long time.
JD really needs to watch his alcohol. I love the guy when he isn't drunk but my gosh, when he is, he is a completely different person.
If he wants to be the loving and caring father that he believes he can be, he must quit drinking now and never continue. Because he does get irrational when he drinks and that is very dangerous
I wonder how much, and how often, JD drinks. I don't know if he actually has a dependency on alcohol as much as he may possibly just overdo the amount he drinks in a night/day.
On the subject of drinking, I wonder if anyone on the show who's had their drinking issues highlighted on the show ever gotten it under control? Some people seemed like they needed to stop completely, like Joey, but I don't know if that happened for him. Landon seemed to at least need to reduce the amount he drank, but apparently he only reduced the amount while he was on the show. As Inferno 2 indicated (and to some extent, the RW Philadelphia reunion, as told by Willie), he went back to getting completely drunk/wasted. Apparently Ruthie was drinking again after her season (though I hope it's under better control, at least). Hopefully Dan from VR will get help. Derrick I hope is doing better. It seems he's grown from that at least a little (having a family will do that sometimes).

I wonder too. I saw a couple of Dailies where JD was a hot mess. One was were he was cracking on Devyn's feet in a confessional with Chet, and he kept repeating himself (as if each time he did the impression was the first time) and his voice was high-pitched and screamy, and another one where he seemed whacked out of his gourd when he was in the confessional (Ryan and Scott were hiding in there and talking trash about Devyn), speaking nonsense, running around with his butt hanging out, and fellating the microphone.
JD's casting stones about someone like Katelynn embarrassing him, but he's the one embarrassing himself on national television.
Haha so i was watching episode 1 and if you look at it, Ryan starts drinking and JD gets all freaked out and gives him a water bottle.... Haha, I dont think Ryan is the one who needs to drink water.
SO he is some variation of Hispanic right?
He is Cuban like me. :)
My problem with JD is how he acts like he should be forgiven for everything, when he doesn't deserve the sympathy half of the time. I feel like he needs to realize that he needs to mature.

I agree he comes across like he thinks he deserves to be the king pin around the house...like no matter what he says to one group (guys) won't get back to the other (girls) and vice versa. JD just has a lot of growing to do as an individual but he is allowing things from his past to stand in his way (the drinking)
Just found this AfterElton interview with JD:

I'm reading it now and he's definitely talking some smack.

What an *****.
Wow, he just doesn't get it, does he? About the situation with him talking about Katelynn being transgender, about why most people go on the RW (I don't think it's to be a role model in most cases), about why people were upset with him, about how well they all got along (seems people still have issues with him, and there is that guys vs. girls thing, but maybe that will be resolved soon), etc.
I think the reunion for this season will be pretty interesting.

Agreed. He seems pretty delusional in that interview.

One of the parts that also made me think he is delusional was when he talked about how he didn't need to come out, and that when he was asked, he answered so it wasn't a big deal. Well if I remember correctly, when Katelynn was asked, she answered, both with JD, though I think that was more of her being willing to tell her story after hearing his, and when Ryan asked her. When she told the girls, it seems she did it when she felt comfortable with them. So yes JD, you did betray her trust when you told people before she was able to, no matter if they suspected or knew already.
I haven't seen last weeks epi so I haven't had a whole lot to say, though I snickered through most of the epi 6 discussion thread. I just linked to the interview though. . .delusional much? He's gone from the "possible bad edit" bin right into the full on *********** ******* bin. Some of the stuff he said in that interview did way more harm than any bad editing, even the interviewer seemed dubious. The "look at how hot I am" glamour shots stuck in between the *********** commentary didn't help matters either. It's rather rich he fancies himself a selfless Pedro-like figure too, I think he should go back to playing with dolphins and "selflessly" bragging about his alleged exploits with still closeted news commentators.
JD is a SHADY SHADY SHADY heartless person. I'm sorry I said it. I don't like his character at all. It's very appalling and he needs to control his rage issues. The only good spirit I see in the season is Baya and probably Kate, Scott... AAAND even Sarah (just a tiny bit).
I'm actually disgusted by JDs behavior. As a Latino I see pedro as a role model, JD is no where near him. He is an evil person inside, I had a friend like him, and if I sat down, and discuss the issues with him, he still behaved as a shady person. I might be saying it a lot on this forum, but I can't get over my anger (cause I had a personal experience). If I would have done this season, I swear I would have gone home for fighting. That's how I ended up shutting my ex-friends mouth. I can't tolerate people like JD, seriously. Call me crazy, or psycho I don't like him. Plus what Kat mention on this forum made me HATE him more.
