Simon is right, she is different. She can sing super well and is super easy on the eyes!! :-)
I think she will go far in the competition, but I wasn't blown away by her barracuda. The pacing felt off. I don't think it was the best song for her, although I'll concede that she'll be rocking next time we see her.
Some songs can't be covered in my opinion.

Yeah that's true. I'm just happy that the judges saw that her voice has a lot of potential. :-)
Is anybody watching tonight? They are in San Francisco.
... I don't think that the first girl should have made it through... She wasn't that good. (In my opinion)

I just turned it on. I like to get a good sized commercial buffer going.

She was a wackjob that did not possess much of a voice. Simon was right, she did not get through on her vocal stylings...
She won't get far during Hollywood week.
Ok, they should have not have auditioned that woman who was clearly in a diminished mental state. I could tell as soon as she opened her mouth that she was probably off her medication...
I was a bit disappointed overall with tonight's episode. We saw mostly unfunny failures with the majority of golden tickets being shown in a quick montage. Out of the few that we did see succeed, none struck me as the American Idol.
I know Paula thinks the guy who sung the queen song is the best singer yet, but I don't know how that was derived from that 10 second audition as I didn't see it there (although he might have talent within.)
I don't watch enough Idol to know how they edit this...has Hollywood week already been filmed, thus they showing us all of the people that will make it to the live portion (foreshadowing) or are we getting full auditions of the Hollywood bound people they find the most interesting solely based on their entertainment value in the early rounds? (i.e. if you just are thrown into a montage you probably got eliminated down the road?)

LOL. I'm assuming they deliberately wanted to make a fool out of that lady and whoever persuaded her to go on national television. Plus, I've heard that auditioners have to go through one or two rounds before actually making it to the Randy-Simon-Paula round.
Some thoughts:
First of all...big WHOOPS to the guy from Kalamazoo, MI (the dueling piano player). K-zoo is 2 hrs from my home town and it's a great city. So I feel I need to root for him (that and he was really good!)
Ok....about the second girl they showed (Joanna): This bothers me. The fricken judge recognized the girl because she had a record deal before. She didn't make it. So WHY is she on Idol? This ****** me off every season when they throw in these ringers that have already been given chances that most of the contestants could only dream of. Soooo....if you "almost made it", and didn't (uh...your record company DROPPED YOU) , that's a fail. Sorry if that sounds harsh but it is. But guess what? I'd be willing to BET this girl makes the top 12. She's a fix (like Carly from last season). So, even though she has a great voice, I couldn't care less for her.
Um....what happened the rest of the episode? LoL
I am just turning it on right now and am about 10 minutes in (too many shows, too few hours in a day.)
I like Joanna from Philly. You could tell that Simon really liked her as well.

Ugh, NOOOOOOO! That's the girl I was referring to in my post above. :ireful3:
Such a sham....

You know me and non-Real World spoilers. I shielded my eyes while humming loudly when coming to post as to not read anything before I'd seen it!
No, I am not going to explain how humming loudly helps...

ITA, it just does not seem fair to me.
Why do they keep not showing most of the people who make it to hollywood? It seems to me that they are only showing the ones that have the looks and can sing, or people with a dramatic story. Then they cut to all the others that made it to Hollywood and I never even got to see them, WTF?

Here is MY theory: The judges, produces, aka powers that be, already know or have a good idea who they want their top 12 to be. (ie...the ringers, the beautiful people). Which is why I said I bet ya anything Joanna will make top 12. Oh and probably the "punk" girl from Go Betty Go. They show us their stories because the want us to remember them at Hollywood week and be "excited" when they are finalists. Once they get the ones that they want in there, it's just up to America to decide, so they say. I tend to go for the ones that AREN't those people (aka Jordan Sparks, Syesha Mercado).
It should go without saying, but I have no inside track to this whatsoever so it's merely my conjecture based on observance.
Tonight is the last night of auditions, I believe. Next week we will see them at Hollywood.
They are going to be in Salt Lake City, UT.
Actually it's on tonight too (Thurs)! Auditioning in NYC and Puerto Rico.

Haha, yeah I seen the previews after the show. :D
Next week is definitely Hollywood week though! And tonight is the final night of auditions. ;)
I am hoping tonight they will show more of the people that make it than the people that don't.
