wooo! that's good, right?
*isn't familiar with ratings or what's considered a good rating is for RW*
I saw nielsonmedia.com and Real World wasnt in the top 10 for the ratings.
Top 10 of what ratings category? If you just looked at their principle cable show listing, then you will never see TRW listed there. I'm sure it is in the top 10 for the 18-30 demographic where it was #1 the week before, but Nileson does not do a beakdown to the numbers unless you pay $$$$ for the service. Unfortunately, Media Life did not publish the cable demo breakdown yet, so I don't have the scorecard image yet.

Thanks for posting that from Media Life and welcome to vevmo!
For the first time in my memory, TRW is also in the top ten in the older 18-49 demographic. This is a big win for MTV who hemorrhaged the upper half of this age group to VH1 and others like Bravo and Oxygen. It clearly shows that the word is passing among people who used to watch RW and they are returning.

My apology, I kept thinking I forgot to do something and it was the credit to medialife.
I'm glad this season is doing really well, I'm enjoying it so far. I didn't even watch Hollywood, glad I came back for an enjoyable season.

Just my opinion based on what I heard from executives.
Prime, 12- 18; secondary, 18 - 34; tertiary, everything remaining

Wow. I'm rather surprised that 12-18 is their primary demographic. (Well, coming from a girl who had to watch MTV in secret because her parents wouldnt' let her watch it until she was 17!!)

I'm not that surprised being I personally can't even leave it on that channel for background noise...
The only things I'll watch are The Real World, The Challenges and an occasional True Life.
I'd say with the majority of their programming, 12 is about right. ;)

True Life "Staten Island Girls" ... My favorite. I couldn't stop watching!

For some reason I just noticed you're Colies mom from real world Denver. I know its says that, but I never looked under your SN. So I thought you were just a mom of just any Colie, but not the one from RW. LOL

We watch the same shows, but I also love the Hills and the City. However, everything else is definitely for younger audiences.

Yeah that's her. Wait until you get to know her. She's pretty cool.
think the ratings werent in the top this week because The viewers of President Obamas Inauguration had alot of viewers. (Which I expected and I'm sure everyone did as well) But hopefully that is the case and maybe next week it can get back up.
A downturn in a rating like this usually reflects on the episode two weeks prior. As many noted in the discussion thread, that week's episode was not particularly exciting; therefore, a lot of people elected not to watch live or on same day DVR last week.
Once you begin losing the audience, it is nearly impossible to recover it all through the normal show buzz. Six hundred thousand viewers is a very big loss. Tragic/heroic news stories always bring viewers back though, so if JD rescues a dolphin somewhere and it is captured on camera, there might be hope... :)

I dont think it will happen XD
This image may be more easily read than the data above.
Bacchus' overall viewer total above (2,271,000) demonstrates that the initial strong showing for The Real World Brooklyn continues as the series enters what would have been the first 2009 Nielsen ratings period (Sweeps). Sweeps for 2009 has been delayed until March as a result of the mandated industry changeover from broadcast analog to digital which didn't affect MTV as a cable/satellite channel. Thus, in it's demographic (what advertisers care about), TRW Brooklyn is the #1 cable reality show. According to Media Life Magazine, last week's episode (Sarah's dad's call) "jumped 17 percent week-to-week among viewers 18-34, from 1.21 million to 1.42 million." This means that people are paying attention to the previews and commercials both on-air and on-line.
The ratings are further validation that MTV and BMP were correct in their assessment that young viewers were ready to embrace a Real World season with story lines of substance rather than those of drunken roommate hookups and the incessant shallowness that filled recent seasons.

I am glad to see that there is room for growth in today's society. Will it last though is the real question...
