That was my initial reaction. Not saying that JD has no friends in the house, but if I were in the show I would friend the entire cast on an MTV website even if I didn't necessarily like them.
It is the rare cast member who actually posts at that site. Nearly all the posts from cast at that site are actually written by interns. It would not surprise me to learn that interns are the ones who have "friended" other cast members.

Oh I thought that was a temporary thing during the Island, but I guess they are continuing with that stupid idea. But, I guess 99.99% percent of people aren't educated by some site would have no idea what's going on.
I don't know if this was posted somewhere already or not, but I haven't seen it yet. My apologies if it has already been posted:

The roommates were interviewed by EW and some of their quotes pertaining to hookups, what they each bring to the house/show, hookups and drama potential are discussed.
does anyone know where they head to for their vacation?
Since this was planned to be a "serious" season, there was no vacation.
Since this was planned to be a "serious" season, there was no vacation.
I am cool with them making the show serious, but I would seriously feel jipped if I didn't get to go on vacation like the past seasons have...that would eb something I would be looking forward to going in to it. (of course that is only because I haven't been very far past the Mexico border and I dream for the day that I can go to an exotic location for a relaxing vacation)

I agree. "Jipped" is exactly the word I thought of. The serious seasons in the past got a trip. People who work deserve to have vacations as well. The Hollywood season was supposed to be a start to going back to people with dreams, and they got a trip.
I wonder if BMP is trying to lower their costs of filming the season. Hmm...
I also think The Real World had people with dreams in other seasons, but they chose not to really focus on those people having ambitions, and those people were also trapped by having the mandatory cast job. So I kind of feel like they are condemning a lot of people by saying those casts didn't have dreams and this season does. A lot of these people did have dreams or were trying to do something with their lives (like school), but they got into the challenges and speaking engagements/bar appearances/vacation promoting scene and made so much money they didn't return to school or persue that dream.
made so much money
This is one of the greatest fictions about people on RW/RR . A couple of people did OK by doing club appearances, etc., but that is neither a life nor a living as almost all have discovered.
Yes, but people who work have to put in enough time and effort to earn their own vacation, it's not handed to them. I didn't like when they were given a job/trip and had to do nothing for it. Having to do something on their own makes it more "real" to me.

Seriously, I don't consider anyone rich from the afterlife of these shows. I know everyone who does the shows don't make a lot of money or do a lot of appearances. Some are more popular than others, but some of them really do seem to be doing well enough for themselves. Not rich, but able to have a nice amount saved up for people their ages (in some cases). The ones who steadily do college appearances. As long as they don't live beyond their means, they should be able to live off of what they have and save a nice amount of money for a while if they are smart. Of course it won't last forever, but I think initially at least it helps some of them out more than having a job while in college would. I do think it's best for them to finish college eventually, though, unless they fall into a really nice job somewhere.

True, but, if we look at it like that, free rent is also usually not handed to people who have to work, but the cast gets it while living in the RW house.
Also, the first casts had to do their own jobs and they got a vacation given to them. At least, I know the first cast did.
The other casts that had jobs set for them had to work, so it wasn't just for nothing. I remember with RW Philadelphia the people they worked specifically gave them their vacation packages. I'm not saying BMP didn't pay for it, but the cast's employers handed them the packages for a job well done.
Bacchus,
In the first post on this thread the email you received stated that Chet is the mega ****hole of the house and will no doubt be the villain of this season. My question is if this is just a personal opinion of the person who emailed you or if this was relayed to the email source by a person in the house or was it the general opinion of the whole cast? I ask because I know Chet and Ryan are best friends and I know Chet and Baya are friends also and I can't imagine them saying that about Chet at all. So could this have been the opinion of maybe a single castmember?? I think through the first few episodes he has been by far the most entertaining for me to watch and I don't see him as any sort of villain??

This is not the opinion of every cast member, nor a single cast member from what I can gather. Still, I see plenty of villain material thus far. You can take that as fun while another might take it differently (I personally am yet to chose sides if sides are to be chosen.)
Obviously in the first episode we saw Scott say he would never tell Chet anything (because of how he responded to Kate's secret) and in the second episode we saw that JD was not a fan of Chet's pranks (not to mention a near fist fight.)
I think the sender (who is not a cast member but in the loop) was picking up on the vibe as far as the edit would go at that juncture (late October, early November) - and clearly there is some validity if looking through the prism of a few cast members from what we know up through episode 2.
I can't definitively say that is how things are now. It was a snippet in time 2 1/2 months ago. Things can change and often do.
Did any of you guys here what Devyn said at the Notorious premiere. She said there was SO MUCH drama they ended filming 2 weeks early. What do you all thing about that?

So you're saying that The cast of real world brooklyn aren't really talking on that site, but interns are?:new_shocked:
So you're saying that The cast of real world brooklyn aren't really talking on that site, but interns are?:new_shocked:
I have no proof of that, but I trust what V1 has to say. During the Island, I remember V1 saying that Dave was the only one actually posting for himself and that it was just interns. If you look back in this thread, V1 says that this also applies to brooklyn

Can you explain how you know this for sure?
I'm not trying to give you a hard time, but it just seems so deceptive to have interns write for the cast member. I mean there was a quick convo, where Ryan posted to Scott he need his socks back, but to wash them first.

Yeah, we all know 100% that Ryan is good friends wwith Chet and would never say that. I also believe Baya is good friends with Chet. For instance at the notorios premiere a reporter asked who as the most anoying in the house. Devyn and Scott sayed Chet. However, Bays was like NO DON'T SAY THAT. Baya somewhat took up for Chet.

Some of the Brooklyn cast are posting very modestly on iamonmtv.com, but I noticed that the number of fans are really quite low when compared to the challenges.
Trees12 asks about interns posting... I have no direct, first hand evidence for the Brooklyn season, but some of the responses to questions are identical to answers that interns were writing as far back as Gauntlet 3. At that time, my company was working with four cast members who had been asked to post without compensation at the site. Three of them elected not to post at the site but noticed there were frequent replies to questions or comments made to them at the site. We asked MTV.com and they acknowledged that interns were posting occasional replies.
I'd love to hear what the cast has to say about how MTV approached them about their web site and what additions, if any, were made to their contract (although the contract precludes their discussion of it)

Okay could you give me an example of a the responses from the real world brooklyn cast members that are similar to those from interns on the guantlet 3.
Can someone tell me where I can find information about interns posting for cast memebers. Thank you all for your help, it's much appreciated.
If you think about it, the possibility of interns (or someone other than the cast member) replying is VERY real. $$$ Look at most of the responses and how impersonal and generalized they are. Cast members have Facebook, MySpace, websites, personal email, lives to tend to $$$ money to make. Maybe in the beginning it's a novelty to start up the I Am On MTV site; it would be pretty tedious to maintain contact everyday. JMO.

If anyone got "jipped" in the past, it the guys from the first NY season. They sent the girls to Jamaica, but the guys stayed home.

There is no place to find said information other then here and what has been posted previously in this thread. It is inside information that was kindly conveyed by V1man. There is nothing further on this subject that can be offered that has not already been stated.

Oh, okay because that person said research it. What is your opinion on the situation of cast members talking on I am on mtv.com.

I don't have an opinion as I have not been to iamonmtv.com since the day it was launched. I generally talk to the cast members here, on facebook or via email. ;)

So were you involved in the real world production, editing or something?
How do you talk to them HERE?
So were you involved in the real world production, editing or something?
No, I just run a website - this one to be clear.
How do you talk to them HERE?
All sorts of cast members are lurking about on a daily basis and a few are always posting. Do a little reading about and I am sure you will find some gems from Parisa, Issac, Cohutta and Kelly Anne from Sydney - Kim, Will, and Nick from the Hollywood season and more recently Kate and Devyn from Brooklyn. It just takes a desire to tackle some of the more popular threads and carefully read the discourse.
That being said, lets go ahead and refocus this thread on spoilers.
Could you believe the email Ryan sent to Baya. Saying he's attracted to her, but not right now; it can't be cancelled. This could be part of the reason if not the entire reason Ryan and his girlfriend split.
They are not together anymore? Either way, I'm pretty sure I read that Baya is single. Plus, I thought I read that there were no hook-ups in the house.
They are not together anymore? Either way, I'm pretty sure I read that Baya is single. Plus, I thought I read that there were no hook-ups in the house.
Nope Ryan and his girlfriend aren't together anymore. No hook ups in the house, maybe. However, the stuff Ryan is doing would definetely not help the relationship with michelle.
I just said that because we haven't seen that in the show yet. I can't remember if that was in the show's big season preview or not. And even if it's not in the show, everyone may not know what happened after the show.
It's not surprising to me, though, that it ended up happening (the situation with Ryan).

Why is the situation with Ryan not surprising?
