Here are the numbers:
Update: my bad for not including The Real World season XXI! The Brooklyn installment bowed to 2.261 million on Wednesday at 10pm. The Real World “After Show” at 11pm drew 1.71 million making for the two most-watched programs on MTV all week. The Hills offshoot, The City was #3 for MTV for the week with a mere 1.298 million.
Obviously The Real World is much more popular and different than Road Rules, but does anyone think with the great ratings of this season so far, that MTV would be willing to give Road Rules another chance, since it's RW's sister show? If The Real World was to possibly receive a contract for more seasons, perhaps the challenges would be extended as well. And it would be great to deepen the pool of RR contestants for the challenges.
I know it seems like wishful thinking, and I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen, but I don't think it seems completely impossible.

Stake-through-the-heart dead... buried in an unmarked grave in potter's field.
What season was exactly the fall of Road Rules?
I loved the last three seasons, and viewers revenge doesn't count.
IMO Viewers revenge was the fall of RR

The patient was already dead. "Viewer's Revenge" was a desperate attempt to resuscitate the show under the guise of exploring near real time reality TV with heavy viewer input. It failed because the core cast figured out how to exploit their advantages to the detriment of viewers. The cast was focused on winning the money, as any group of RW/RR challenge veterans would be.
Just to confirm the Nielsen ranking for cable shows views by the 18-34 yr old demographic, here is the list for week one. Note that both RW Brooklyn and the Aftershow are in the top 10. While I don't have detailed records for past Aftershows, I can't recall any Aftershow every having been ranked high enough to get any recognition. This is very unprecedented.

Was there ever a full TV Aftershow for TRW or any challenges? I remember some of the aftershow for Fresh Meat with Coral airing after the first episode, but that's it. I didn't watch RW Denver, so I don't know if those aftershows ever aired on TV (I know they had them on the website).
Didn't The Hills or one of those shows have an aftershow? If so, I guess that would be the only real frame of reference, as the ratings for online and TV are different.
i have a question. V1 where can u find these ratings charts? I always go crazy lookign for them but never can find them.
Here is the one that Bacchus usually quotes: Nielsen TV Show Ratings, Data and Numbers | TVbytheNumbers.com
Media Life Magazine also publishes numbers, but their search feature requires a PhD in "obscure."

I don't make promises I can't keep. I'm going to be in LA shooting a TV pilot over the next couple of weeks, so I probably won't have time. I'll do the best I can as time allows.
Thats cool V! Have fun shooting that TV pilot!
Fun? Don't I wish! Anyone have a spare $200K lying around they don't need?
I thought you loved shooting shows V. We should have a Vevmo fundraising to raise 200K!
Way off topic, but the ratings won't be out until Tuesday PM -- so -- Yes, I love the art form and telling a story on film. What I don't like, but people apparently think I'm good at, is the business end of the production process. Lots of people in LA are terrible when it comes to business which may be why I'm involved in this pilot.

[BTW, to keep the regulators happy, my reference to the $200K was not a solicitation under the Blue Sky Laws or SEC regulated investment rules.]

Wow, well even though I am sure you will hit a few road blocks during filming, I hope you get a chance to get out and have some good ole LA fun, LOL.
I hope the ratings are posted soon !!
I'm still waiting for the weekly numbers.
In the mean time, here is an interesting listing just to show where MTV stacks up these days in the competitive cable world (from the first week in Jan) in average prime time viewers. Definitely not the powerhouse of old. Very much a niche channel (as they have almost all become.)
