It is time to get a spoiler thread started for Survivor Tocantins, the 18th season of Survivor! I have been doing some researching, and I found what might be a possible cast member for the upcoming season of Survivor at survivorsucks.com They are thinking that the woman that you see in the preview (a possible cast member) looks a lot like Debra Beebe, a Principal at Drake Middle School. Here are the pictures for comparison:
Mrs. Debbie Bebee, Principal, Drake Middle School, Auburn, AL, 40ish Has applied for Survivor many times. Was repeatedly turned down because she didn't have enough body mass. After seeing all of the ridiculously skinny people on the last few seasons, she contacted SEG and told them she wanted to play. Has been missing for several months. Used rehab as her excuse for being gone.

From the DMS website: Hello! Welcome to the J. F. Drake Middle School Website. As principal, I am beginning my 10th year at Drake School. Prior to my becoming principal, I served as the assistant principal at Drake for four years and before that, I lived in the Chicago area where I attended high school and college. It is an honor to work with such talented students, staff, and parents in our Auburn community. J. F. Drake Middle School is committed to the Middle School Philosophy, and embraces the middle school child. Our students are assigned to teams at the beginning of each school year. The students and parents grow and develop relationships with their teachers and team members throughout the year. It is our belief that every child has a special gift, and it is our job to tap into each student's individual learning style and strengths. Our school climate is one of energy, excitement, creativity, and success. We believe in celebrating success and the individual child. Team celebrations are held each 9 weeks, and during the year students enjoy multiple school-wide functions, pep rallies, trips, and programs. Auburn University is a valuable resource and provides many speakers and visitors. Sincerely, Debra S. Beebe Principal
Who knows if she is a cast member or not... it is a tough call really. But at least it is something to talk about. :D So what do you guys think????
It seems like so long ago when you broke the "Crystal Cox is a cast member" thing. haha I thought Crystal was going to be such a ******
Also I read at survivorskills.com, that the two tribe names are Timbira and Jalapao and the colors are Red and Black.... This confuses me, because in the preview you see someone wearing a purple buff... Maybe that is the merged tribe?? From the looks of the picture above, the Red tribe is Jalapao. Which means the black tribe must be Timbira.
Yeah I do see someone with a purple bandana/headwear. It could be it is a merged tribe or maybe the color of the headwear is different? Is there any chance this season may contain any all stars like fans vs. favorites?
Yeah I do see someone with a purple bandana/headwear. It could be it is a merged tribe or maybe the color of the headwear is different? Is there any chance this season may contain any all stars like fans vs. favorites?
I guess it can't be said definitively that there aren't any, but during seasons 8, 11, and 16, the entire slate of returning cast members was known by the approximate midway point through filming. Tocantins has been done filming for a few weeks now and there has been no information to indicate returning players.
Even though we know virtually nothing about it I am looking forward to this next season, it has a promise to be better hopefully. And I doubt they'd do anything with favorites so soon after the last one.
I found this at survivorsucks.com
I have our first cast spoiler. Brendan Synnott--he is the co-owner of Bear Naked Granola Company. In his early thirties, and is a multi-millionaire. He posted a video on youtube from a hotel room, claiming he just spoke to "Noelle" a survivor casting associate who told him to make a tape about why he'd be good for the show. The video was about 4 and a half minutes long, and all he did was drone on and on about his travels, and how he is learning to ski. Just a half hour later, the video has been taken down. He appeared to be the typical blonde mactor type--but now that i've seen pictures of him, he seems otherwise. However, he was boring as hell. SEG--TELL YOUR CASTING BROADS TO DO THEIR ***KING JOB AND READ THE APPLICATIONS. IF THEY CAN'T FIND 100 GOOD APPLICANTS IN A POOL OF 20,000 APPLICATIONS, THEN I WILL FLY OUT THERE AND DO IT MYSELF.
Survivor: Tocantins (I Know A Cast Member!) Upcoming this February (the day after the Super Bowl), Survivor: Tocantins will be starting. Well today I found out that an old band conductor of mine took part in it! It is really exciting knowing this, because I know how long he lasted. I can't say really anything, because even he is still not allowed to directly say he was apart of the show, but he said the last two months he was gone, he was in Brazil, and was there for __ amount of days. I won't say because that would give away his place, but it's extremely exciting! So now time to get his autograph... haha

Not saying that this is related to the above, but certainly a coinky-dink - http://www.oanow.com/oan....762 Drake Middle School band director to leave before end of school year Staff report Published: March 27, 2008 Band Director Parker Denson will not finish out the school year at J.F. Rumor has it around my town, Susanville, California, that our Symphony Conductor is a contestant. His name is Ben Wade. He had been gone for a while and reappeared at the December concert...had lost a lot of weight and word has it that he was in South America. Quite a few people in town say that he was on Survivor, but he can't/hasn't confirmed it yet. He just said that there will be an announcement after the Superbowl on National TV. It all fits.......

I found this at survivorskills.com
Using that post Dani found, birdlady was able to determine that his name is Carlin Hagen. He is 47, lives in Janesville, California. They have two sons, Alan (goes to Fresno Pacific University) and Ethan (goes to the high school he teaches at.) The guy from that post that said his conductor guy was on the show is friend's with both sons on facebook, so if the guy is serious then it's definitely this teacher.
Here is a picture of him:

It backs up what you said about Ben Wade being a cast member! :D
Apparantly you are correct that it's Benjamin Wade, and not Carlin that Patrick is referring to. A couple of other boards have had some contributions on this matter. First off - LeoLady @ Survivor.com: 01-08-2009, 09:49 PM Hmmm...well, Carlin Hagen is my son's high school guitar teacher at Lassen High School. He has been teaching at school this entire year, hasn't been gone but for a few days here and there, so he can't be a contestant. But, maybe someone was sniffing in the right direction. Hagen's wife is a flutist for the Susanville Symphony in Susanville, CA, and word is that the conductor of the Symphony is a contestant, as someone apparently posted! .>>.>>.>>.>>.>>.>>.>>. He's staying quiet which is driving people nuts. lol I live in a small town of about 10,000 people & 1 university. They are on Christmas break until sometime in Feburary. zzziiinnnggg lol, I was thinking the same thing. I'm VERY good friends with the football coach & all the athletic department.
Here is a picture of him:
Yikes, it is Steven Seagal! Well, I can see the similarity at least, lol.
There were a few more pictures of him on Sucks, he reminds me of Brian Heidik, the **** star who won the Thailand season. Hopefully EW or something will do an official cast reveal sometime this week.
Ok, guys... Since the cast will be revealed soon, I'll tell one thing that I've heard from someone who knows someone and all that stuff.. I've been saying things that I've heard from a person who I had a contact, and this person have got some informations from someone who was in the crew. I told about this to Wez and Danieu, but I asked them to not post here, because the person asked me not to. But since the cast will be revealed soon, here we go: Looks like we're gonna have a 19 year old boy. I don't think we'll have people under this age, but I think this boy is on. And we'll have a guy who is going to be as well liked as Rupert. I was reading what you've guys wrote and maybe it'd be the Maestro. All this information may not be true, but it's still information. Let's work on the girl so maybe we can spoil the cast before CBS releases it. Isn't this the first time they've had castmembers under 21?
Isn't this the first time they've had castmembers under 21?
No. Frosti from Survivor China was under 21 at the time of filming. I think there was another one, but I can't think of who off the top of my head.
No. Frosti from Survivor China was under 21 at the time of filming. I think there was another one, but I can't think of who off the top of my head.
Cool, because on wikipedia it said Tocantins was the first season in which applicant under 21 could apply.
Cool, because on wikipedia it said Tocantins was the first season in which applicant under 21 could apply.
Wikipedia? LMAO (waiting for the wrath of Bacchus to descend from Mt Olympus.) :ireful3:
Wikipedia? LMAO (waiting for the wrath of Bacchus to descend from Mt Olympus.)
Lol :lol2:I knew wiki wasn't reliable so thats why I asked if it was the first time for under 21. Now I'll know not to trust wiki haha!
Wikipedia? LMAO (waiting for the wrath of Bacchus to descend from Mt Olympus.)
Umm, ya. Wikipedia is not a source. It is just a bunch of random people on the internet saying what they want to say for kicks. Hell, I'll even admit to poisoning an article or [strike]two hundred[/strike] two for less than honourable reasons and when people try make alterations to my "babies" I start dumping wiki red tape down their throats and drag it out over multiple RFC's until there is a 50 page document finally reaching a consensus on changing the word has to have in paragraph 14 line 6. Wikipedia is not an encyclopaedia, it is a social networking game. Errr...anyway...back on topic. Being on the show and applying are two different things. Many contestants these days don't apply to be on Survivor (as CBS would like to make you believe.) Rather, agents pitch the prospective cast members and if CBS bites they inform their client about an opportunity. Things go from there. This is how we ended up with a fans vs. favorites season where most of the fans had never seen the show... With Frosti, the producers wanted him and decided to make an exception. They had the right to waive eligibility requirements at their discretion and chose to use that right. So yes, this is the first season CBS is going to allow the applicant age for the "peasant" perspective cast members to be under 21 - which makes me think they already had a few under 21's in mind and lowered the number on the application in order to make the selection project seem organic (as questions would have cropped up if the applicant age was 21 and they have 3 people on the cast under 21, right?) Yes, I know - always a conspiracy...
Thanks for the info B! I think it sucks that not much people apply, because its an awesome show! So the agents just go search for people who they think would be great for their show?
So the agents just go search for people who they would be great for their show?
This is more V1 territory. All I know is that every season in the after action interviews a bunch of contestants always say, "I never saw the show before I was selected for the cast. My agent thought it would be a great opportunity" blah blah...
This is more V1 territory. All I know is that every season in the after action interviews a bunch of contestants always say, "I never saw the show before I was selected for the cast. My agent thought it would be a great opportunity" blah blah...
I have friends who have cast for the show. Lots of people apply. Frankly most who apply just suck. If you don't have the demonstrated potential to be good TV, you will not be cast. I've been through the Survivor casting process so that I could help clients. It is thorough and rigorous, but when they are trying to build a cohesive cast, they do sometimes think they need to find a certain type of person to fill a particular need. That is when they bring in someone who didn't independently apply.
Thanks V! It makes sense that the agents gets most of the cast by searching.
In regards to the under 21 thing, Lynne Spillman's remarks in this interview indicate that the applicants for the 18-20 crowd were not so much intended to find cast members for this season but rather to get applicants to keep on file for a few years later.
Thanks V! It makes sense that the agents gets most of the cast by searching.
I think you may have terms confused. "Agents" do not get cast members. Casting directors/associates are the ones who search for cast (this is what my firm does occasionally under contract). Agents represent known talent (actors, models, singers, dancers, etc.). Casting people may independently make contact with people who direct them to their agents (or not) or the casting people will directly contact an agent -- sometimes depending upon the union status of the actor and agency.
I did have the terms confused. Thanks for the heads up V!
Here is a potential spoiler about how well or poorly a contestant may do: Someone on Survivor Sucks posts about someone who saw Ben Wade at his December 12 symphony concert and that he lost about 60 lbs and needed to use a cane for walking. Now 60 lbs is probably a gross exaggeration as the most weight people lose is 20-30 lbs but still, he could make it quite far. The only other thing was that I had been under the impression that filming was to start November 3, making day 39 December 11 and fly home December 13, but if Ben Wade is a contestant and was at the symphony on the 12th, filming must have started October 27 and arrival home was December 6.
Now that TV Guide has revealed the cast, there is a poster on Sucks, evidently from Brazil, who has established some credibility (got it right that there would be a 19 y/o, and got Brendan right). Here are a few more bits of info from that individual: The 19 y/o (Spencer) comes out on the show for the first time (his parents don't know) Someone this season will reach "Rupert" proportions in terms of popularity Someone is "beaten" by a scorpion The only thing is that they say the Spencer gay thing comes from a different source than the rest of their info
