Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, Dirty Sexy Money and Lipstick Jungle all bit the dust. Not sure if I'll watch the last couple DSM's or not.

The women must first deal with the two guys mothers who are also there. I expect the show will attempt to be more classy than trashy. At least that was a major focus of casting interviews. This is the first major offering from Ryan Seacrest's new production company. We trained someone who made the final cut for this show and I anxious to see how things go. Dollhouse moved to Fridays at 9pm after Terminator at 8. watchdollhouse.doittttt.
Anyone else have the misfortune of taking a peak at the TV Schedule post Wednesday? IT IS A DEAD ZONE! What am I going to do? How will I survive! Almost 3 weeks of nothingness! Am I going to have to go to the library or something and get a book?
I'm looking forward to nothingness. I have three books I need to read before the holidays end.
The unlimited version of Nexflix is a great substitute.
I'm looking forward to nothingness. I have three books I need to read before the holidays end.
These days, I only read technical manuals, although I have been eyeing Thomas Friedman's new book - Hot, Flat, and Crowded
The unlimited version of netflix is a great substitute.
I think they stopped consistently making good movies 5 or 10 years ago. Out of the 100+ movies that run on HBO, STARZ etc per day - I'd say 1 in 5000 is worth my two hours. The Departed, No Country for Old Men and Gone Baby Gone are probably the only good movies I have seen in the last year. Netflix might be faster, but in the end all the junk they are putting out now will reach HBO - and I can patiently await, junk. ;) I guess I'll be watching more cable over the next few weeks, for better or for worse. Man Made Marvels anyone?
B have you not seen The Dark Knight, yet? Or Wanted? Both good movies!
I'm not much of a Batman fan (or Superhero movie fan in general.) I stopped watching the first Spiderman movie half way through...
Wanted was a good movie. I had a hard time with the plot but the acting was good. James McAvoy was brilliant and hilarious. Jollie was luscious as always. As I said, during the break of TV I'm going to be watching my Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel DVD's and reading. Definitely time well wasted.
Wanted was a good movie. I had a hard time with the plot but the acting was good
From rotten tomatoes:
Maximum violence and minimum plot are the formula.
I am more of a plot driven viewer which is why shows like 24 have grown stale. I'll admit it, I am picky and somewhat of a snob when choosing movies, yet can watch generally trashy reality shows without batting an eye. As long as I don't "lower" myself to ROL and its siblings, I feel righteous. ;) Movies are a two hour plus commitment and you have to start at the beginning. The stuff on TV I watch has an air of familiarity and I can watch passively when the story heads downhill. I might get caught up on Weeds if the going gets rough...
I might get caught up on Weeds if the going gets rough...
You should B! In the past few months I've caught up on all the seasons of Weeds. And I'm about halfway through season 4 (but I've just been watching online). I haven't been disappointed and I still think it's a great show.

I saw Body of Lies a while back and thought it was a really good movie...I bet you can find it online somewhere. I didn't even recognize Russell Crow in ituntil about half way through, LOL.

AI ruins everything!! LOL Not really, but I hate how every year it interrupts my House-watching! And don't even get me started if I have to miss episodes of Fringe for a 4-hour "Auditions" block..... P.S....Holy crap Hole in the Wall is still around?
And don't even get me started if I have to miss episodes of Fringe for a 4-hour "Auditions" block.....
ooooo I will be pissed too!!
Just to give an idea about how low the bar is these days (think NBC's Life getting a pickup after averaging 5 million viewers in prime time) take a look at the ratings for a week not that long ago...
