Grey's: Ep.509: In the Midnight Hour
"In The Midnight Hour" Meredith, Cristina and Bailey come to Lexie and Sadie's rescue when a routine surgery goes horribly wrong, as Owen and Derek treat a man seriously injured while sleepwalking and Mark comforts the sleepwalker's distraught daughter.
Source And now, because of the title of this episode, I will have "Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol in my head all day. And that's not a bad thing. :D P.S...Only 2 new eps left (well, 1 after tonight) before "Christmas break".
I LOVE Billy Idol...greatest hits is in my car always, LOL. I am going to miss tonight's eppy and I am not happy about it...thank god for DVR! *I am going to the Dallas Stars game I am looking forward to it in a way since it is my first live sporting event (other than high school, LOL), but it is cold outside all of a sudden and I know it will be cold in the arena as well...I hate cold weather! :(

(and bring a jacket) ;)
I get Billy Idol and Billy Joel confused sometimes but I have to say Idol's Dancing with Myself is his best song, hands down.

I like Grey's Anatomy somewhat but I have alot of problems with the couples on this show. Is there any chance that Isaiah will return?
Oooh can you imagine if Isaiah did return...the story line between him and Cristina could be sooo good if written right. I am hoping to have time to catch up today on the show!....OH **** I just remembered I didn't set it up to record *croses fingers hoping my husband did it for me* (I wanna cry ust thinking about it not being there :() *Dancing with Myself is my fav, me and my little sister do the "Night at the Roxbury" headbang when it comes on, LOL.

STACEE DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN YET!!! I can't believe I have to do this, but I am giving this episode a thumbs down.... What is going on? I thought this whole episode was a mess. Ugh, Lexie and her renegade surgery team. Come on!! A little too fake, even for me. Working in a hospital myself (and specifically a surgery dept), there's NO WAY that many interns would ever be unaccounted for for that long, and they sure as heck wouldn't take over an OR with noone noticing. Oh, and as "******" as they may want us to think Sadie is, you'd NEVER have an appy done without general anesthesia. Not a local, not a block, FULL anesthesia, out, IV's, the whole works. Let's have some believability here writers.... And don't even get me started on the Denny/Izzie scenes. They were downright uncomfortable to watch. I mean, two of my favorite actors period, and I cringed when their scenes came on. (note: Um, beginning part...where everyone "heard" Izzie in her room, and when Alex knocked she's like naked and sweating and not opening the door.....Hello! Why wouldn't Alex bust down that door and be like "Bull, what's going on in here?"......I just found that really out of character for him...) One highlight for me was watching Mark's relationship with the little girl (the sleepwalking guys daughter). He seemed so genuinly sweet with her and when he told her to relax and fall asleep on his shoulder, I couldn't help but wonder how many other women would have loved to have that spot. ;) I'm really starting to like Mark this season. The episode in two weeks I hope is much better. I was let down this week :(
STACEE DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN YET!!!
THANK YOU for the warning...I almost read it!!!
And don't even get me started on the Denny/Izzie scenes. They were downright uncomfortable to watch. :(
I completely agree with you. This episode and last I have been trying to figure out where they are going with this. They need to leave Alex & Izzy alone! Let Denny be gone. I'm sorry OPD- but the guy is dead... I even skipped past the Izzy & Denny scenes. It just makes no sense.
I'm sorry OPD- but the guy is dead... I even skipped past the Izzy & Denny scenes. It just makes no sense.
LoL thanks jobson. I do love me some Jeffrey Dean Morgan dimples, but even I know when the horse is dead...
I am ready to move on. I thought we went through this last season. Why rehash again? I guess the ratings were good, which will just egg on more of this... Give me normal Izzy, not mourning Izzy, sheesh. As for the intern fiasco, I was thinking, "As if" the entire time. And what is up with Mer's devil friend? I don't like her already. So when is the ethics committee becoming involved and all the interns being kicked out of the program? There is no way an unauthorized, freewheeling surgery would happen and the punishment would be a speech by the residents, lol. Overall, this episode was a major strikeout (although I did like the Alex line about him being cool with Izzy flying solo.) I'll admit I came into it thinking, this is going to suck, and it did. Self fulfilling? Maybe. Actually, something is totally wrong with Alex (as alluded to in an above comment) as he is nice and caring! ***! It is only a matter of time I say, only a matter of time (before he snaps Izzy's heart in half like a pencil.)
Okay I caught up last night...all I can say is Blech. The Denny stuff is getting out of hand, it is too uncomfortable to watch. Seeing Mark with the little girl melted my heart, but seeing him with Callie is just freaking pure entertainment...they crack me up for some reason.

They are great to watch, they have fun with eachother like brother and sister, but you know they have the chemistry there too. I'd like to see them develop something meaningful further down the road.

I hope they don't go that way with Mark and Lexie. I'd much rather see Mark and Callie. Lexie...I don't know about her. She needs another man option other than George though!LoL
I only have one thing to add. I agree with everything that has been said. I loved Christina sticking it to Meredith for not having her back with the Chief. And she was dead right, it was all their interns, why was she taking the hit? Meredith really bugs me when she takes the high road. I have no idea what Derek sees in her.
I think I am going to start a petition to kill off Denny for good. I just can't take it anymore as this is sticking a knife through the heart of the season. I mean, one episode with a dead guy - funny/creepy. Two episodes - obvious loss of focus. Three plus episodes - change the channel. I thought it was fine that Denny came back for the Mer death sequence, but things are getting a little absurd at this point and I want him gone so we the viewers can get on with our show. What is the point? We know this isn't going anywhere (being he is ***king dead) and the longer they drag it out the longer we have to wait for the real show to return. Blah, blah, blah - he finally leaves, Izzy finally moves on blah, blah blah... How many episodes are they going to drag this gimmick out? I have no patience left.
p.s. Shonda says: "I think the love triangle with Denny, Izzie and Alex is among the most interesting we've ever done." - i.e. this will probably go on until the season finale. But good lord they are literally beating a dead horse! I have not been watching except for dvr and I can't even do that anymore, if this is someway that divine intervention is supposed to come in and let Izzy know that her and Alex are not supposed to be together. I will scream. Just let Alex play the **** role he plays so well. I personally would rather see Izzy together with Alex than her and dead Denny.
I think we are stuck in this storyline for awhile yet. I read in EW that he'll be around well into February, but who knows after that. I'm hoping that they tie it up and kill him for good during Sweeps.
I actually disagree with that. Why should Mer take the fall too? She was geniunely shocked when Christina said she knew. So, how was she supposed to cover that in front of the cheif and act like she knew too? Her friend and her sister were in danger and I'd be ****** that Christina didn't tell me sooner what was gong on. That's just me though.

That's just me though.
Mer should pay for the ongoing major suckage that she dumps (like a giant garbage truck) upon the viewing populace on a weekly basis. We should occasionally be rewarded with Mer carnage. Any opportunity for characters to yell at her, make her look stupid or show her the utmost disdain should be jumped at by the writers as a token of appreciation for our patronage to this dying show. ;)

That's just me though.
My thoughts are that as a resident and having direct supervision of interns that Mer should have been aware of what was going on, as all the other residents. Christina explained satisfactorily, IMO, that she dealt with it when she became aware. She had no idea that they were going to ignore her and advance to surgery. Let's face it, all the residents are at fault here. They are all so preoccupied with their personal lives and career opportunities that they are not doing their job as residents when it comes to the education and training of the interns. I took exception to Mer taking the high road of ignorance. Ignorance is not a valid excuse. It is her job to know and if she didn't then she's doing something wrong. Of course this is applied to all of them.

May-jah spoilage!! (regarding DENNY and IZZIE) From EW.com:
Warning: Stop reading, Grey's Anatomy fans, if you don't want to know the big secret behind Denny's afterlife love affair with Izzie. I'm serious. Stop. Okay then, here we go. Turns out Shonda Rhimes wasn't lying when she told me last month that a brain tumor wasn't what was causing Izzie's case of "I see dead people... and have *** with them!" But she was being sneaky. Last chance to run, spoilerphobes! According to multiple sources, Izzie's hallucinations are health-related -- and brain-related. And although the specific name of the ailment is being kept in the safe underneath Rhimes' desk, I'm told it's similar to an aneurysm. And every time it flares up, she sees Denny. And sometimes when it really flares up, she shags him. (A Grey's rep could not be reached for comment.) But wait, there's more! Izzie's aneurysmish disorder was never intended to be fatal. Plans change, but, per an ABC insider, Rhimes didn't cook up this story in order to grant Katherine Heigl's alleged wish to be let go from the show. Rather, the boss wanted to give her employee the thing she allegedly wanted, the thing that eluded her last season: great, Emmy-worthy material. And say what you want about the story, Heigl has delivered. For their part, ABC execs remain divided except for on one point: Everyone acknowledges that the plot is asking the audience to take a huge leap. "It's definitely an unorthodox story, but I trust in Shonda," maintains one suit, who says the press will eviscerate the net no matter what they do. "If we interfere, we get blamed for messing with someone's creative vision. If we don't do anything, we get blamed for the backlash. You really can't win." Another insider says Alphabet execs are getting antsy waiting for the audience to find out about the underlying medical issue fueling Izzie's spectral romance. So antsy, in fact, that they are applying some light pressure on Rhimes to speed up the reveal. Once you know the reason Izzie is seeing Denny, they figure, you'll be much more willing to go along for the ride.

May-jah spoilage
Ok, if you were me - would you read the spoiler? I mean would it make the show better for me or worse (knowing where I stand on the issues?) I'll let you come to a conclusion. :D
