Mad Men
Don't think this has a thread yet... ...but I've grown QUITE fond of this show! A bunch of my friends kept talking about it and a friend threw Season 1 at me just last week and I LOVE it! Very cool...they do an excellent job portraying 1960s New York! The drama is so subtle, but so intriguing at the same time. Extremely well written and acted. Highly recommended. It goes up with Dexter and Californication as my current faves. All my Network shows are on a slow and steady downward spiral. Cable is where it's AT!

I watched the first 8 episodes. Watched the rest of season 1, 5 months later. Made it through the first two episodes this season. Gave up. I think the show definitely has its merits, but it is just too slow going for me. I have trouble getting up for it. I might catch a marathon after the season concludes.

Yes...it's pace is slow-ish...but it's still new to me so I'm still into it! 3 more eps of Season 1 to go...

It is season 2 that concerns me (Isn't it always that way?) This is a show I want to watch, but just can't make myself watch when there is other more fast paced trash TV on (I killed the timer when I was 9 eps deep on my DVR.) The sets are beautiful. The period is captured perfectly and the acting spectacular. I am not sure what is wrong with me, really, as I should be watching this...

Borderline slow. But as you mentioned, they do a lot of things right too. I should check to see if AMC is going to rerun S2 in marathon form.
