yeah i really am not all that interested in this challenge, i liked how they went about something different, but its just not as entertaining. I have hopes for the duel 2, I havent been fully into a challenge since the inferno 2, and Ive been watching challenges since the Extreme Challenge which was out in 00 or 01

I have been watching since the same time, but every Challenge still interests me, and I still like them. The only Challenges I do not approve of are Fresh Meat and Inferno 3. The Island had me very excited, but Thee Duel 2 is sparking a big interest.

I've watched since the first challenge (Challenge 97 - I don't consider the RR All-Star season a challenge, but I watched that as well), and I agree that I haven't been completely riveted since Inferno 2. I have continued to watch, and I get excited to see certain people, but then the overall concept or missions or something seems to be lacking, or something happens that I don't like. And some of the fights seem nonsensical and I can't understand them (I suppose editing plays a part in this, but some things are just ridiculous, like Tina hitting Beth).
Gauntlet 2 I was excited for a lot of people (though there were too many Xtreme people), but the missions weren't as great, and some of the drama got repetitive and boring (again, could be some of the editing). Fresh Meat - excited to see some of the vets back, and some of the missions were decent at first, but it was not as great as past challenges. After that, things got worse, IMO. And The Island is the first challenge in which I'm not watching every episode, or full episodes. I followed more through the dailies and picked who I wanted to watch.
So I hope the next one is way better. Already excited for it, and I hope the producers do good work on it. I hope they don't take too long to air it.

yeah as far as the challenges after inferno 2, I've looked at gauntlet 2 and 3, and the 1st half of Fresh meat, those challenges weren't bad IMO but just not as interesting as the previous ones, and I never really looked at Inferno 3 or the Duel so I cant say much bad or good about them, and the Island just kinda dissapointed me

Yeah that's what I meant I never said The Duel 2 was gonna be the next FM2 I even said it in the other thread in the Svetlana one consider her for NEXT challange not this one ...meaning one after The Duel 2

It would have been particularly useful for you to remember that others, in addition to the person you were responding to without reference or quote, will read what you write. The context for those like me who consistently read up-thread as a matter of courtesy to other members, is that you were defining a 13th episode, when there is yet no evidence of any more episodes for the New Zealand-based challenge than the 8 currently under contract.

there's only going to be eight episodes of the Duel 2?! Does that mean the final will include more than four people?

Possibly, or they eliminate three people an episode, which does seem a bit ridiculous.

Honestly I think the episode count should be extended, having 8 might make sense on The Island but it might be better to have more on this one just to have everything flow better.

No one ever said there are only going to be 8 episodes. We don't know if there will be more, as stated well above in this thread. We know that BMP was somewhat late in contracting for The Island (MTV privately says they just "forget" to contract for the next RW and another challenge). Given the number of people we believe are in the cast, 8 episodes seems dubious or even practical, but again, absent a shred of evidence, we do not know how many there will be. Remember, we had no confirmation from MTV or BMP that there would be only 8 episodes for The Island until the air dates were announced.
The LAST ISSUED contract that has been announced by MTV and BMP was for 8 episodes for The Island. Clearly MTV has either added another show to the current contract (by amendment) or has issued a new contract and simply not announced it to the trades. Officially, there is no challenge in New Zealand set for the end of October, and no one there now from BMP setting anything up -- the usual pre-production stuff. Someone will eventually talk, and then we will know.
Further, we believe the format will be Duel 2 based on what BMP has reportedly said to only a couple of people -- thin evidence, but evidence nonetheless, given that BMP has not announced there is another challenge coming.
Why the secrecy, one might ask? The only answer I ever have for that question is: BTSOM.

I've just been informed by a source with a past 90+% reliability rating that one person on the current cast list is dropping out or will be dropped. I don't know if that person is male or female, nor do I know the reason. Speculation, I'm told, would be pointless.

You have to remember that they are so set against us knowing that they write Draconian clauses into their cast contract. The penalties for talking about production (which includes casting) range from a total future ban from the challenges up to a fine of up to $1M.
We are the enemy. Odd, at least to me, since we could be the most cooperative and best read website supporting the show.

Haha, I was just thinking that.
But I think he knows Kenny won't be there. They hang out alot since they don't live that far apart, and the cast keeps in contact with each other closely. There shouldn't be a rule saying you can't call and ask if your friend will be doing the challenge or not.
