The Duel II: New Zealand

I am looking forward to seeing the danimal back on this challenge. I think hes great.

Ct's elimination depends on MTV .... if they want him out .... they have to have most of the elimination rounds be weight based (Reverse Tug of War, Force Field, Ankle Breaker for example) and hope one of the big guys; Leech or Eric calls him out. Won't happen .... Eric and Evan are CT flunkies, as is Brad. I look for them 4 with someone like Mark Long and Landon to form an alliance that will carry them far. If the cast does in fact stay in tact ... look for early matchups like Derek vs Nick Brown; Adam vs Dan; etc .... look for CT vs people like Brad, Evan, and Landon late in the game. He'll be there a while if he doesn't win .... that is unless he has become an out of shape, distressed soul. I think the real outcast will be Dunbar ... I can see him at CT at odds early. Dunbar will not last 4 faceoffs imo. He is unproven and he isn't mentally able to contain himself imo. For the girls, unless Ev is added .... Tori, Ruthie, Rachel, Aneesa will be the final four. The difference between us is that have your opinion which people can judge on it's merits, and I talk to the cast, listen to what they say and report it here. If you want to be credible, talk to the cast.

I'm curious, since Ruthie agreed to appear on this one, is she taking a break from her singing?

I simply just meant to ask if we already knew if any of them were definite no's or if either of you knew perhaps if their names were being thrown around. Now you make me feel like an idiot. ;)

I always seem to lump Fresh Meat people and Viewer's Revenge pit crew people together in my head, anyone else feel this way? Especially with people like Angel who lasted, what, one episode then just came out and did the pit crew vs the cast challenges. At least people like Kenny and Evan had more than one episode and really annoying blogs (not that I like them anymore for it...sorry Insider).

That's why I mistook so many VR people with FM people on the Island/Gauntlet XD I really hope the remaining slots aren't taken up by the aforementioned people. Seriously, they bore the **** out of me (except Tori).

I'm used to the general negative Kenny stuff. I mean, he can act like a total moron.. especially on tv. However, I really think he's been pretty mild this time around. He had the outburst with Tonya.. but I don't recall anything else exceptionally annoying this season. He has the whole alliance thing going on... but Derrick and Johanna are also a part of that. Johnny is the real jerk. Was anyone aware that Kenny was on another MTV show YEARS ago..? AAAAND... He was almost a part of the Austin cast. I don't remember if it was Wes or Danny who took his place. I think I was told Wes... BUT.. Danny seems to make more sense. (Think of how interesting that show would have been with Kenny rather than Danny.) Anyway... I don't know Evan's history, but I dont care for him. I'm not thrilled to see him back. The only reason I kinda like Eric is because of Katie.. Diem is ok... but she doesn't add much to the show. (Unless some CT drama arises.. but still.. she adds nothing athletically.) If you ask me... Ev and Kenny are the only competitors that arose from FM. (I might be missing someone)

I expect we'll see the others sooner rather than later and the list can always change. Ruthie??? It was sort of a surprise to see her on this challenge for me but hey she is definitely someone I like to see because it adds even more competitiveness to the girls side. The list is pretty solid, there are a few that I'd want to throw overboard but most of them I like and a few I love. So I can't wait to see the complete list.

I don't have the contacts or the MTV affiliations you have ..... all I provide is speculation based on information in the forums and my thought process and history. I never tried to make my speculations credible or tried to force feed them to anyone. Nor have I ever tried to lord over information to place myself on a higher pedestal because I have an inside track (no this isn't directed at anyone, but I had to deal with that **** on SR) With that, what I'm saying is this ..... yeah perhaps the cast will target CT (you know better than all of us, and for that I bequest you a gold star) ..... however .... my point is, is someone has to have the guts to take him out in an elimination round .... and like him or not, he is very strong, and he is a tough out. It isn't checkers man, it's chess. Being in the know as you are, G3 should be a prime example of my case and point ..... they let Eric linger until the end because although he was seen as a liability to the team, NO ONE was willing to sacrifice themselves to take him down. Even now, on the Island ... Ev is a target, and most likely the alliance we see was predetermined. However, none of the girls in the alliance have the guts to take Ev on, they pair her up against 2 guys. If the Duel is typical to any of the past challenges, then I don't see them putting girls against guys .... I feel the same way with CT .... despite the pre planning, etc ...... because he is a tough out, he will be able to have people surrond themselves around him .... just my opinion.

Hello everyone. :) I've been a long time watcher of RW, RR, and the RW/RR Challenges and I've also been a long time lurker here. I don't really have anyone who watches these shows to talk about them with, so I thought I should join a board and got up enough nerve to join this one. I got excited about some of the people who are said to be likely to participate in this challenge (that's what really prompted me to join). I am especially excited about Landon doing the challenge because The Real World Philly is not represented very well on these challenges. It's a good thing that they don't spread themselves too thin, but I loved that group and it is nice to see them on TV sometimes. Hopefully I am posting this in the right thread. There was talk about Landon possibly being a loner on this challenge. But I remember he is friends with Katie and Mark. He's been out of the loop of the challenge world (and speaking & club engagements, I think) for a while, so perhaps he doesn't have a really close relationship with them as some of the other people have with each other, but I can see him and Katie and Mark possibly being allies with each other. I can especially him teaming up with Mark since they probably don't know a lot of these other guys too well. Katie looks to be in good shape because of the amount of people she's been friends or friendly with: Mark, Landon, Eric, Anessa. Robin and Adam are also friends (or were in the past), but they showed the ability to leave her on the Gauntlet 3, so I am not sure of what will happen with them on this one. I think they both just went with who had the most power, and that was the Fresh Meat people on that challenge. I think it will be different on this challenge, and I can see them possibly wanting to be in with Katie on this one. But they could also look at the number of newcomers or Fresh Meat people and decide to join them. The first Duel challenge is one of my least favorites ever. I wanted an invidual challenge, but I did not like the elimination rounds nor did I like how the voting went or the cast. This time I like the cast, and the people I like the best have some kind of shot of doing well, so I think I will enjoy this one more. I think this challenge will possibly provide for more of a power struggle than the past couple of challenges have, especially if some of the new people are really good competitors. I do think something should be done overall to shake up the whole alliance factor in challenges if BMP is not going to do more equal casting (in terms of cliques and seasons and such).

Nice post and Welcome to Vevmo! I agree, other than the totally obvious alliances, this one is a bit different, and I kinda like it. Although, I believe Katie and Robin are still talking. They are best friends outside of this so I think they will be fine. Although Adam and her are probably no longer on speaking terms.
