Pedro: The Movie
So, I was just surfing the BMP website and came across this: http://www.pedrothemovie.com I'm not sure if this is old news or not, but I think it's neat that they are making a film about the life of San Francisco's Pedro Zamora. I think it'll be very interesting to see.
Wow, looks interesting. Seems like MTV and BMP are going back to their roots. I'll keep posted on this. My only qualm is the casting of pretty people to play everyone. When RW was on back then, they cast decent-looking people, average people you could relate to, not the bottle blondes and frat types of today. I wish the movie's casting were more reflective of that.

Personally, I'm a bit agitated that they're making this film. Sorry, but I just have a hard time believing that Jonathan Murray's greedy *** is going to do this justice. I mean look at the cast for the movie? Did y'all see "Puck"? WTF?

That is definitely not Puck! its a movie! the cast is merely portraying their characters. There have been MANY movies where the person being portrayed in a movie looks nothing like the actor/actress.
its a movie! the cast is merely portraying their characters. The Real World San Fransisco was not "The Hills" and should not be portrayed as such. There are all sorts of actors they could have brought into the production that would have better represented the actual people involved. The motivation is clear. They are pandering to the people who don't know Pedro and are not familiar with that season of the Real World. They are attempting a revisionist history with great looking people to put money in the bank instead of trying to accurately portray the cast and events. I am completely turned off...
whaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttttttt!?!?!?!? wow.

I agree with Bacchus. That's my problem with MTV today. It has lost it's substance. It's not real anymore. MTV is about pretty faces and making money. The first few seasons of The Real World were ground breaking and REAL. Now, its just about getting drunk and having sex. The sad part is, I can't decide if life is immitating art... or vice versa. Either way.. it's no good.

I agree too....buuuuuut at the end of the day, we're still on a forum talking about Real World gossip and news lol
I agree too....buuuuuut at the end of the day, we're still on a forum talking about Real World gossip and news lol
Yeah true that! It's becoming more of an entertainment thing, rather than a "real" thing. But hey, whatever makes the viewers increase...right?

See, I know that it can be upsetting, but you have to understand, like all of us said, Real World is targetted at a younger demographic. If they go to watch a movie they heard was about somebody from the Real World, what do you expect? Interesting that they are amking a movie, I might go see it, but I am not expecting some great masterpiece.

In a way I'm curious to see how accurate or inaccurate the film portrays Pedro's story, yet at the same time I have a very strong feeling it will just **** me off. The show gained so much mainstream media attention off of Pedro's story, and I feel like the show's documentation of his struggle should be enough. What next, a movie about Ruthie's alcoholism? Does anyone know if EmptyV is involved in the production?
Better yet, I wonder if Judd and/or Pam would be involved in any sort of way...even if just for consulting?
I thought about that too. I'd probably be more interested in something Judd produced and/or consulted on or oversaw, because Pedro was one of his best friends, and I don't think he'd exploit his legacy for money. On the other hand, if he's not involved, I think it speaks volumes about BMP's intentions and/or the authenticity of this production.
Has anyone ever seen the movie, "The Real World Movie: The Lost Season" ?

Well.... the plot sounds like the dumbest thing I've ever heard. It's no wonder it's only rated 2.8/10 on IMDB.com
Yes. It was really bad! ;)
Lol, thanks for the heads up. I was actually thinking about renting it. But then again, it's probably not avaible in stores...lol.

I wish they would do that again
The more I think about it, the more I really don't want to see this movie. I might change my mind if I saw Judd, Pam or anybody relevant involved in making of the move. I just have this horrible feeling that they are not going to accuratly portray his life. Even if they do, it won't have the same effect.
