Mobile Version of Vevmo
I trying to get Vevmo to run cleanly on a few mobile devices (including the iPhone) but don't have one to test on ever since my family and friends staged a "blackberry" intervention a few years ago... An auto redirect is in place that will sense a mobile device and apply the appropriate style formatting. There is one super lightweight style for mobile phones and there is another specifically built for the iPhone (although the code is very buggy right now and it is a work in progress.) These are both stripped down version of the standard style and offer limited functionality. Feedback would be appreciated. Looks good Bacchus! You are a damn smart cookie ;)
I came to vevmo once from my cell phone a few weeks ago...it wasn't that bad, I was even able to post a reply.

I see people using it, but no one is telling me if it is working for them or what I should do to improve the interface. It should be fully functional in that you can post replies, check and send PM's and even view images (although the original image is stripped and a link is provided to an optimized version.)
I went to vevmo from my phone this morning just to check it out!!! You did a great job B!!! Very easy to manuever, and post!!!

Glad someone took the time to check it out. :D It should get better as time passes. Right now it is in an alpha stage and I am working out many of the bugs I see on the fly. If you run into anything that is a little strange, make sure to pass it along. P.s I just finished a major code retool, so the site should stop acting weird (for at least a bit.) I just bought a new iphone and tried out vevmo with it. It was very neat. The only problem I had with it was I can't make posts. But that's ok, as long as I can read them! :D
I can do posts fine on my blackberry. Making this post with it.
Hmmm.... Maybe I am doing something wrong then. I will try again later. :)
Are you sure you are logged in? If you are you will see UserCP at the top and [REP] under each post that will allow you to reply.
Well I tried to post on this thread from the iphone to tell everyone that I was on the Mobile Vevmo and it said: Sorry! This forum is not accepting new posts.

Test from iPhone Edit: Seems to work fine for me P. Not sure what is going on. Try a different thread. Can you send PM's?
I am going to try it again when BB goes off. :D

For what it's worth, my ****** Sprint phone (Katana) can get mobile Vevmo. It's veeeery basic and kind of slow (but that's because of the phone). It worked though and it definitely got me through my withdrawls when my home internet was not working! :)

Question, Bacc: How often does the mobile version refresh itself? For instance: When I log in on my phone, my UserCP will have a * on either side, like I have a new PM. But when I click on PM's, it's actually an old one I've already read. Then I log on here the next day (on a computer), and the new PM is there now, but I received it yesterday, so it should have shown up new when I checked it on my phone. Same thing happens with new posts. There will be new ones on the computer, but those new ones aren't reflected on my mobile version. Make sense?

Your phone is not refreshing. ;) Most phones have some sort of caching function, which you will either need to flush or turn off.

I guess it makes sense cause the same thing happens when I check my aol mail on there....sigh. Do you know how I can get my phone to refresh? (Other than hitting the 'refresh' button on the web, which doesn't seem to be doing the trick)
Do you know how I can get my phone to refresh? (Other than hitting the 'refresh' button on the web, which doesn't seem to be doing the trick)
Not sure. I looked at the manual for the Sanyo Katana and could find nothing that talked about browser cache settings. Being every phone is different, I am just not sure. You should take a tour of your phone system settings and look for the phrase "browser cache settings" or "clear cache" or even "*** cache."
