Yep, and by the time our man Michael Phelps is done we'll have a few more gold medals to rack up on the list! :-) I can't wait until track and field begins!
China has the most golds, but America has the most overall medals.
What are the totals at this point?
When does track and field start?
*joins LM* USA! USA! USA! :D
USA! USA!

I think we doing really good and I think China wishes we didn't get any metals at alll lol
* Gold-Silver-Bronze = Total
China 17-5 -5 = 27
United States 10-8-11 = 29
South Korea 6-6-1 = 13
China will probably come out on top (golds) being the force that they are with a home field advantage. However, Track & Field is a bread and butter discipline for the US, so I think we have a good chance of maybe winning the overall medal count.
Only time will tell.

Thanks for the count B! When does track and field start?
I know that basketball is going on right now, what about baseball/softball?
Did anyone else read that baseball and softball have been cut out of the 2012 olympics? :(

WHAT?! That's ****!! Just another example of how our 'national pastime' is becoming a dying breed :(
I LOVE Baseball!!!

I assume they are cutting softball because they are cutting baseball. Baseball just isn't exciting without the best players (MLB) involved and there is no way they can cut into the season to allow the players to participate in the Olympics.
Track & Field starts tomorrow.

ok well that makes sense. Besides, MLB doesn't need any stinking medals, they win TROPHIES :D lol

And remember China's medal count was so high the last two days because they won the men and women team gymnastics.
Holy jeebus! I just saw the video of the weightlifter and his arm! That blows! Dislocations are so painful!
Here's the video if anyone wants to see it. If you're squeamish, you might not want to watch it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRabuEv9m-o
WOW! That was just...disturbing to watch I can only imagine how painful that was. And what was up with those announcers? "Ohhh that is just awful.." Okay *** the man pulled his arm out of joint and that is all you can say.
WOOOOW! This really isn't funny at all but I couldn't keep myself from cracking up a little bit at those commentators. Then they kept showing the replay over and over. "Oh no, aww, that's just awful, that's just terrible"

Yep and just when everyone thought he was about to lose 1st place. I guess he really is Superman! A documentary of him would be great to watch I bet, after his career is all said and done.
Michael Phelps is amazing. He is now being considered one of the greatest atheletes of all time. I guess it is well deserved considering his record.
Oh he is def. one of the greatest athletes of all time. If anyone thinks otherwise they are crazy. He's one of the most dominant athletes ever.

It doesn't even have to be his amazing ability to swim. Just his record alone at the Olympics deserves all the recognition he gets.

That is a great article! Thanks for posting it up. It's crazy because most people (outside the swimming world) never even knew who he was. Now just about everyone does.
