Watchmen
It's not in theaters until March 6, 2009, but the trailer officially premiered with midnight showings of "The Dark Knight" (even though it was leaked online a few hours beforehand). Having read the book, I just gotta say... this looks AWESOME! Check out the trailer below... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R3orQKBxiEg

I work in a book store and our copies were flying off the shelves on Friday... now we're sold out and the book is on backorder. Can't wait for this movie! :)
Yeah, this looks really good! I like the music too!
I'll pick it up tomorrow, for sure! Will let you know what I think
Take your time reading it, man - 'Watchmen' is made up of 12 chapters and each is a lot to process... And Killer Tofu (love the name, btw!) the song is "The Beginning is the End is the Beginning" by The Smashing Pumpkins, but it's a remix (funny enough - its the remix that was on the 'Batman and Robin' soundtrack) - and it works so well with the trailer! :)

And yeah the music just works amazingly well with this trailer! I would've thought it was made just for the movie!

This looks tight but i still hate the whole graphic novel-movie thing except samurai girl. The song is also bad. Never did care for sp. They are no oasis or nin
Wow I definitely liked the trailer! I can't really say whether the movie will be good or not but it sure does look awesome. So I'll probably end up seeing it....if I still remember it by then.
I am going to have to check this book out as well as the movie...
This looks tight but i still hate the whole graphic novel-movie thing except samurai girl. My BF owns this graphic novel....I will have to read it before the movie. He says it's one of the best, ever.
Tell me you got it from the library?
That I did, sir.
Roomie, question for ya: I'm three chapters deep. What is the significance of the comic book story that the kid with glasses is reading. Something about a ship and a captain on it?? It started in Chapter 3, but it makes no sense. Why is it even there.....what does it mean?????

If I recall correctly, and it's only been 7 or 8 months since I finished 'Watchmen', the Black Freighter storyline just runs co-currently as an undertone to the overall plot, although pay attention to when they mention who the artist is who wrote that comic, as I believe he plays a significant role towards the climax... and I've lent my copy out so I can't double check, lol... oh and side note: the Black Freighter stuff is going to be released as a direct-to-DVD thing around the time the movie comes out.
oh sweet! Ok, Will do...i'm digging it so far

Alright I just finished this book this weekend, and wow. WOW. I've never read a graphic novel before and didn't have much interest (I know, say what you want!) But I was wrapped in immediately. I finished it in just under a week. It's one of the best/coolest stories I've ever read. I am now so pumped for the movie!! Just wanted to put it out there though, everyone should read this book. Counting down to Watchmen!!
Well Fox is still trying to see the release blocked which I hope doesn't happen and we get to see the movie on time which looks like it could be the case. Either way I am pumped too, it looks really good.
Why would they want to hold up the release?!
Well Lawrence Gordon never paid Fox a buy out when he left to develop the project so Fox is suing and stated their goal was to have the release blocked. Even though if it is some of the gross might havr to go to Fox.
it'll be fine. they'll throw a ton of money at Fox to shut them up, and itll come out anyways

I'm going to an advance screening of "Watchmen" next week! I'm so excited to see this movie... I'm probably going to try and see it in IMAX, too, once it is widely released.

It comes out a week before my birthday, so I will probably wait the week to avoid the first rush and make a night out of it.
I've been hearing about advanced screenings and I am jealous. I am off on the 6th but will have to wait until the evening when my wife (she is psyched to see it and has been since the trailer before The Dark Knight - its good to be married to a fellow geek) and best friend are off of work and able to go. I am in the middle of the book now and need to finish it before next Friday. I am geting impatient though as this is the first movie I have been anxious about since TDK. Every review I have seen has been absolutely glowing or otherwise positive.
Roomie...you have to report back! I can't waaaait to see this!
