Kendal Sheppard shames the father of her son
Perez Hilton just posted this about Kendal...I haven't even read it yet, but knew others would want to read it
There's almost nothing worse than a baby daddy who can't accept responsibility! Kendal Sheppard, from MTV's Road Rules, is supposedly sick and tired of Desperate Housewives alum and Paris Hilton's ex-boyfriend Josh Henderson shirking on his fatherly duties, so she put him on blast via her MySpace blog. Apparently, he's her babydaddy, she has a paternity test to prove it, yet he's not accepting responsibility for his child. If it's true, what a ******! [via Perez Hilton]

Tuesday, June 10, 2008 father's day and my baby's daddy... with my son's first birthday on the same day as father's day, i can't help but have mixed feelings. i am so excited to celebrate the day my very favorite boy was born! but.. a feeling of anger and rage sweeps my body when i think of little asa's biological dead beat dad. josh had made it clear from the beginning that he wanted nothing to do with his son. however, i was convinced that he was a better person than that. it's been a year of me trying to get him interested in one way or another- i even felt like we made a little progress around february when he actually returned a phone call- maybe even two. that was all i needed to know that i had been doing the right thing by not hiring lawyers or acting out of emotion. i thought we could have a peaceful coexsistance and that someday, my son would would be able to (at least) call his "father" if he simply wanted to talk. so foolish am i.. after months of delay, i realized that quite possibly, everyone was right about josh; that he really didn't care. recently, through the grapevine, i've heard that josh is saying that the DNA test we took about 10 months ago was inconclusive. even though i have a DNA test that came back negative from our preferred potetntial father, and josh's test came back with a very different result, josh is still saying that the child isn't his. i guess he needs more than a 99% to be convinced. maybe he has a twin with with idedntical DNA that he believes me to have slept with. even though josh admitted to being the father of asa, he is now changing his story. i'm ***uming it has something to do with his lawyers. it's funny how lawyers are.. i wonder if they really think about the effects of their actions. if they are in support of a client not paying child support and using their knowledge that ultimately reflects the life of a little boy, then i am disgusted. josh has not returned any emails or calls since april when he said he'd call me when his "lawyers got back in town". they must be on summer vacation. well, josh, happy father's day, sweetheart, you give *** holes out there something to look up to. :) Kendal
Three cheers for Perez Hilton. I love Kendal.
OUCH! This is some serious blast! Good for Kendal.
OUCH! This is some serious blast! Good for Kendal.
I agree...I say put his *** on child support and son't sweat it, I am sure kendal will eventually find a very nice man who will make a great father for baby Asa.
She is right in her last line if you messed up you have to take responsibility. I feel sorry for her, why can't MTV cut her a little slack and have her come on one of the challenges? She seems willing and it won't hurt, worse that happens she get eliminated right? That guy is acting like a ****** though if he really is the father.

Kendal and BMP did this right. There will be other options for her.

Hope BMP reads this plea, cause she does have a lot of fans that want to see her.
Aw poor Kendal. She is actually one of my all time fav. cast members. She seems like a really sweet girl. What a loser he is!

random judgement: well, we all know that deadbeat dads suck. but if there already is a "preferred potential father" in the kid's life, why bother dragging this worthless guy into it even though he clearly wants nothing to do with the kid? if she wants child support money, she should take care of it through the courts. if she keeps trying to manipulate the situation herself, she'll probably just end up causing her son to have some unnecessary daddy issues by forcing the kid to have a relationship with a man who doesn't want him. just because this guy was the sperm donor, doesn't mean he should be involved in the kids life. from the sound of it, hes a POS anyway, and why would you want to intentionally bring a POS into a kids life? i am assuming that the term "preferred potential father" means that the kid already has a man in his life who wants to act as a father figure. sounds like a better deal.
I took it to mean that there were 2 possible biological fathers and the one she actually would have preferred to have been the father tested negative. But hopefully the way that you took it is right, that he has a male figure in his life.

Hello Vevmo! I love this site, and have been addicted from the first moment that I discovered it. However, this is my first post, as I preferred to soak up the community ambiance (which is fantastic, btw) before I dove in and started posting. ..(Holy Christ, I 'ust reread that last sentance, and I swear to god I didn't mean to "pull a Halstead" throwing "ambiance" in there...grrr, it's the only word that fits so I'm gonna let it stand. I swear that guy 'ust ruins everything)... I really 'ust want to address this whole bio/non-bio Dad issue, as it's been a fairly important part of my life. It isn't really possible to substitute one "father figure" for another, even if the "perferred father" seems a better man (at least for now - 18 years of future behavior is hard to predict, especially when 100% biological children are added to the equation). First of all, medical issues are a nightmare...I cannot tell you how awful and embarassing it is to have to constantly say "I don't know my biological father" when asked. Additionally, when dealing with a serious and difficult to diagnose medical condition (as I have), a hint of 1/2 of your heredity is nothing short of a godsend. "Perferred Father Substitution" is also tricky because...well...how/when (if ever) do you tell the child? It is a slippery slope indeed, fraught with deception, heartbreak, and feelings of betrayal when the child ultimately finds out that they have been lied to by EVERYONE in their life that they trust (think finding out that Santa doesn't exist X's about one thousand...it really sucks). I feel for the Mom's/non-bio Dads having to lie all the time as well...it's brutal. Ack..this is already longer than I intended...thanx for still reading if you've gotten this far. I guess though that the length is testament to how complicated these situations are. What might seem an easy switcheroo probably won't stay that way...at least not in my experience...life usually is too unpredictable. I guess that's why fully support kendall's actions...bringing it out into the open and not treating it (and the child) like a dirty secret. The bio-Dad is an *******, and is going to miss out on the greatest gift in life, that being the love from his son. However much the initial brutal-truth might hurt, it is much better that the family, the court, and (in this case) fans are able to resoundingly say "What a stupid ****** loser!" and give the child the gift of knowing that it is in no way his fault. It is amazing how insidious the feelings of worthlessness are when it is hidden...hard to explain, but I guess I tried to explain here. It's prob pretty obvious I feel strongly about this issue. So! Thanx for reading this lengthy post... Thanx Bacchus for creating vevmo!... Thanx all of you that post and help create this refuge from the idiocracy that the net all too often is... and, most importantly, thanx to the computer Gods for not booting me off my virus plagued laptop before I could post...woo-hoo!
Welcome minxie! You make some very good points, a couple which I had not even considered. Great first post!
Completely agree Minx. You said it much better than I could have. I see nothing wrong with what Kendall is doing. Good for her!
Welcome to vevmo Minxie, great first post.
i agree, good points. especially about medical considerations. i would just add that it isn't necessary to pretend that the bio-dad isn't the bio-dad. i don't think it is necessary or healthy to lie to a child about who their biological parent is just because the person isn't in their life. and if someone else can and wants to be the parent, then why not? speaking from experience as well, i can tell you that 'sperm donor' does not necessarily = 'father' and in some cases it's better for ********* who don't WANT to be fathers to go ahead and let someone else do the parenting. things like child-support, medical records, etc. can be treated as separate issues from day-to-day parenting... & i was only talking about the parenting aspect. it's cool that kendal cares enough to make the effort in trying to get this guy to care about the baby he made. i just hope that it doesn't become a lifelong thing for the kid; trying to get a guy who really doesn't give a shit to love him as a son. in any case, i have the feeling that it's way too complicated a subject to really talk about properly in this particular venue. i was just shootin' the shit really.
I am completely on Kendal's side with this. I have a friend in a similar situation as her, and it's hard. But the biggest reason I side with Kendal is that I'm a mom too. I have an adorable two year old, and my husband has been such a great help with raising her. Even if it's to take a half hour long bath at the end of a stressful day, baby-free, I feel like I become a better mom because of him. I'm an at-home mom, so I have become immersed in my child's life. She is my everything, and I have sacrificed so much for her- time with friends, my husband, time to do what I want- but in the end I feel rewarded when she curls up next to me and says "I yove you Mama". If my husband wasn't half of the man and father he is, I would quite possibly go cookoo. If you're not a parent, or haven't raised a child, you could have some idea, but would never know the full extent of the stressfulness of it. And I think that's where Kendal is coming from--- why is he running around, doing his own thing, when his child is there. Where is his part of the resposibility of raising a child? And I'm not just talking child support, which is what a lot of people are bringing up. And it made me so angry that at PerezHilton they are saying Kendal should've had an abortion. Are you nuts? She should have done that because she could predict the future???? He may have said he wasn't ready/didn't want a baby, but when you like or love someone you hope for better out of them.... And there is nothing wrong with that. I just wanted to put my two cents in and send my support to Kendal.

it is so likely that she is not sahming the father of her child cause she may not know the father of her child maybe before people get to hard on the father of her child there should actually be some proof he is her sons father

There was not much doubt at the time. What do you know now that wasn't known before? Dead topics are usually that way for a reason, but one last post, perhaps, with good news of one of MTV's favorites!
