Friday's episode was better, but not by much. I just have no interest in madam president, sorry. What the **** happened to Starbuck? Don't they know she is the star of the **** show?
To top it all off, next week is the last episode THIS YEAR! (although the previews looked good, it is still depressing to think we waited so long for this season, we got served **** and now it is over...)

What the Frak? No New Battlestar Until 2009
Battlestar Galactica fans are well-advised to sit back and savor this Friday's midseason finale, because the balance of Season 4 -- the series' last, lest we forget -- won't be hitting the tube until after "the first of the year," says executive producer Ronald D. Moore. And that's a best-case scenario.
At a Wednesday-night screening of this week's episode, Moore explained to TVGuide.com that even though they are currently filming the series' final scenes, the "practical realities" of post-production -- coupled with the formidable end-of-year competition presented by new fall series, baseball and football -- places the onset of the final episodes at the start of 2009, at the earliest. "Realistically, there's no way to get back on the air faster," he apologetically added.
[via TV Guide]
How can a cylon impregnate another cylon? It was so weird how little they touched on this. It really makes no sense.
wait-- which cylon impregnated another?
wait-- which cylon impregnated another?
Colonel Tigh got a Six pregnant~!
They didn't say a word about it this week. No idea how it is possible. Seems a bit far fetched given the rules that the show has seemingly set in place concerning cylon on cylon action.

oh, i'm an idiot! i forgot all about that storyline.
well i remember the cylons discussing pregnancy back on caprica & theorizing that 'love' was the missing ingredient needed for successful conception. so maybe that's the justification they're going with; Tigh's addled mind confusing 6 with Ellen.. & 6, well, maybe she has fallen in love with the old ****.
So on a side note...
Is the new show Caprica supposed to be a series or a mini- series? I read somewhere that the tentative air dat was 12/08. Wouldn't that conflict with the last half of BSG in 2009?

I heard that it was just a pilot with a pickup contingent on ratings. The wiki page doesn't give an air date.
I am going to go on record right now saying that I hate prequels in general - but the cast looks great and I'll give it a shot.

Yeah that is what it will be exactly a pilot/movie that will continue into a series if the ratings are good enough. The casting has definitely been great so far and if they do it right then it should be picked up. And tonight is the last episode this YEAR? :girl_cray2:

If they do it anything like this season it will tank! I hope they "get in the game" and make something worthwhile.
Well, it is over. Done. We will now have to wait until 2009.
Although I enjoyed last night's episode, it misfired on many levels and could have been much, much better being it was the big payoff episode that we have been waiting for since the premiere.
Best moment of the mid-season finale: I was almost sure Tigh was going to be shot out the airlock! I was thinking, "Hmm there are only 10 episodes left. Killing off a lead at this point is totally within the realm of possibility."
I thought that finding earth was much less exciting then it could have been. I didn't realize they had found it until I actually saw it. I figured it was going to take 20 jumps or something like that over another 5-9 episodes. I guess the shocker for me was that earth was destroyed.
I always wondered how "we" would react to colonists when they got here. I guess the answer is "wez be dead." lol ;)
What did everyone think? Where is this going to go next?
I agree it could have been better but last night's episode was definitely good and I enjoyed it. Still it could have been better considering it was the last one this year! ::grumble:: Ah Tigh looked like he might have been on his last legs but I don't think any of the five would die just yet. And you know I kind of figured something would be wrong with Earth, even more so when they got there in like five seconds it seemed like. It makes me wonder if anyone is left alive on Earth.
I thought it started out pretty good. The ending was pretty anti-climatic though. That seems to be the trend of this season. I thought Tigh was going to be air-locked as well Bacchus. I'm almost disappointed that he wasn't. Just for the OMG factor. It would have spiced things up. I would have been even more excited if the 3 would have shot Laura Roslyn.
The final fate of the survivors of the 12 Colonies is a little bit closer. According to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello, the final ten episodes of Battlestar Galactica will begin airing on Sci Fi on January 16th at 10pm, which, if the episodes are being shown weekly, will put the series final on March 20th. Timing and scheduling, of course, is a little unclear, as Executive Producer Ron Moore has said that the final 10 episodes will run 11 hours in length – or longer, with the series finale running three or more hours. According to the Chicago Tribune’s Maureen Ryan, there will be websiodes in the lead-up to the final episodes.
[via newarama]
I can only hope that the final 10 episodes of BSG are epic!
Ok, she's the fifth? I feel so let down!
Yes, that was a giant, "WHO CARES!" moment. All that build up for her? Sheesh, I hardly noticed she was gone.
Still, I didn't think the episode was an entire waste. As always I enjoyed the scenes with Kara, thought the Admiral was compelling and was totally shocked that Dee blew her brains out (I thought she was the 5th the way the episode was going.)
Not sure what the deal is with Kara being dead and alive if the final cylon has been revealed, but obviously that is what everything will be hinging on in the upcoming weeks.
Looks like the ratings are in and they are good for a Sci-Fi channel series. Hopefully there was enough there to keep viewers coming back.

Zzzzzz.....Zzzzz.....Zzzzzz....
Whoa. What? Huh? Oh, sorry - I [strike]was counting tiles[/strike] finished the latest episode of Battlestar Galactica. Umm, ya. It wasn't pretty.
I was tempted to use the fast forward button, but then I just zoned out staring at the weird tile pattern on my bedroom ceiling that I never fully noticed, or appreciated. Very interesting stuff. There is some sort of crazy alternating thing going on and if you stare long enough, shapes start jumping out at you. After about 15 minutes of focus, I saw a giant shark with a space ship leaping over it with the date, RIP 2006 boldly emblazoned across it...
Errr....back to BSG. Total snooze fest. I don't care about the frakking Quorum. I don't care about the frakking President. I don't care about bitter frakking Gaeta and I especially don't care about frakking Zarek.
This coup is going to kill the remaining episodes. The direction things are going is unfathomably awful. Not only is the human race doomed, but so are the viewers!
Where are the bad Cylons? Why only 45 seconds of Starbuck? Why doesn't the Admiral say Frak off and take Galactica and those that want to come along with him? It was hard to watch.
Even worse, when I saw the preview for next week (which in this last season has been the best part of every episode) it made me consider not even watching.
This show is seriously limping toward conclusion. Sure, we might get a few cool moments along the way, but at this point I think they would have been better off rapping this up in a two hour TV Movie.
Zzzzzz.....Zzzzz.....Zzzzzz....
I am so glad I am not the only one who was literally falling asleep while watching. It was painful!
I was very dissappointed with the 5th cylon but had decided to give it a chance after watching this 'Battlestar Galactica': The fifth Cylon speaks | PopWatch Blog | EW.com interview.
Maybe I'm just still processing, but there was no "mind blowing event" this episode as promised above. I'm pretty sure there won't be anything mindblowing happening in BSG until the last 5 minutes of the series, MAYBE!
at this point I think they would have been better off rapping this up in a two hour TV Movie.
It would have been kinder to the fans if they would have just ended it this way. I'm considering scrapping the rest of the season & waiting unitl the final episode- I'm sure I won't miss a thing.
I'm considering scrapping the rest of the season & waiting unitl the final episode- I'm sure I won't miss a thing.
Oh ya, you could probably watch 6 of those "What the frak happened" one minute clips fully apprised for the finale. They could easily fit all the good stuff into 6 minutes, lol.
I can almost guarantee that next week is going to suck royally.
The weird thing is that all the reviews I have been reading are treating the last two episodes like they were totally epic! I just don't get it...
I am going to offer more thoughts going forward, but I think that last night's episode was actually good. It was the first time in a long time that I felt like something was actually happening.
Maybe I jumped to conclusions and there is still hope...
It was actually much better than I expected. I'm just hoping it wasn't because my expectations were so low that it couldn't be bad!
Seriously though, I was pleased they addressed the sudden switch in thinking because I too was thinking- so in one week cylons do not = bad and everyone is happy to be aligned with them. I think it was a realistic reaction the fleet to have to mutiny.
My favorite part was the interaction between Rozlyn & Baltar especially when she tells him "If it makes you happy, maybe we're both frauds and this is our last chance to atone."
And next week looks promising. Do you really think they'll air lock Adama?
And next week looks promising. Do you really think they'll air lock Adama?
That is the crazy part. They just might!
I really got a sense that almost anything can happen and I know from what I have read about the final episodes before hand - some very bad things happen (although my gut says he lives to fight another day.)
My favorite part last night was Starbuck killing the guy holding Lee. It was totally unexpected and then she shot the next guy. I was like, "Yes! BSG is back with some balls and Starbuck is ******!"

There rarely is a better return to glory than the leaving of bloodied bodies strewn around.
I kind of come in and out of BSG but this season I'm liking it more and more, the 5th cylon reveal was a let down but the stuff with Dee was kind of shocking to me, maybe I'm dense but I didn't see it coming. I am probably one of the few people that actually liked Dee and wished they had used her for more than being a prop for Lee/Starbuck angst would've been cool to see her go over to the darkside actually I always liked her and Gaeta together. That said Starbuck is one of my favorites and I definitely liked the ********** that was displayed in the last episode.
Am I the only one rooting for Zarek/Gaeta though? Possibly. . .
I am actually excited for tonight. I hope I am not disappointed.
I kinda am. It seemed too predicactable too me. Although I did not expect Zarek to order that the quarum be executed. Not sad to see him or Gaeta gone, they were both grating on my last nerve, now if we can get rid of Baltar...
I found it to be a mediocre episode, but not as bad as the first two. There was some action and I agree that the quorum being slaughtered came as a surprise. At least Zarek is gone for good this time and I was not a big Gaeta fan after New Caprica, so I won't miss him.
The thing I miss the most about BSG these days is number 6. What happened to that once great character? Now all the 6's are total wimps. Remember when 6 used to constantly screw with Baltar? That was fun! (...and yes, if Baltar slipped out of an air lock next week I'd savor the moment.)
I could care less about Ellen, so I am not that excited for next week - although maybe that will bring us back in contact with the evil cylon faction as we work our way toward conclusion. I will say that her being the final cylon was the biggest disappointment in the history of BSG disappointments. Actually, I was not happy with the whole final five thing anyway.
I understand why it was done. It was what was needed to bridge the cylons with the humans, but it just felt cheap and still doesn't fully make sense (i.e. how the final 5 seem to age normally unlike the others - i.e. Ty working with Adama for 20 years - yet in the flashbacks to ty on Earth, he looks exactly like he does now.) I think the entire story is so convoluted it will never be satisfactorily explained and the worst part about it is that you can tell it was a last minute addition to the script. If they had this planned all along, it would have been genius because there could have been clues placed along the way. However, there were not as it was a fly by night decision (with even the cast being ****** about it.)
Anyway, I am still watching and hoping for a bit of redemption in the coming weeks.
Not sure what to think of this week's episode. On one hand, we learned more this week than we had learned of the course of years. On the other hand, this wealth of information felt forced on us through a less than ideal recollection of events from Anders and Ellen.
I'm glad that we know how everything came into being, but also disappointed that it was not approached in a more through and lifelike manner. Why couldn't we have had true flashback episodes that went through how this all came to be rather then have it thrust upon us in one giant dose? Probably because the writers thought they'd lose the edge of the unknown in the storyline and decided to hold out for years instead of informing us all along.
In other words, I felt like last night's episode was a hodge podge of fill in the gap antics, none of which we saw or will ever see.
Still, I guess it is cool that we are over that hump and moving forward.
p.s. If Starbuck is a Cylon I'm going to be ******.
These episodes are just burning off at this point. What I hate the most is the preachiness of the storytelling. The analogy to reality is not very subtle.
Also, I'm not a fan of all the time devoted to the final 5 bonding and let out a big sigh when Baltar showed up on scene.
I just want a conclusion at this point.
