Dead Like Me
faaaaantastic I have 4 episodes left of the cut-way-too-short series and I'm loving it. Though it falls short of perfect...i love the sarcastic lead character George, the alcoholic brit from the 60's Mason, and Rube, the leader of the "reaping" The show's about a group of reapers who take the souls of people who are supposed die and its wonderfulllllllll watch it.
no takers? bummer. I RECOMMEND!
ooooohhh that was quite possibly the best show ever!
I loved that show and was very disappointed when it didn't return.I still watch the reruns when ever I catch them and I hold a special place in my heart for this show because one of the best summers of my life ,was spending it up late watching this show with my at the time 9 yr old dughter. all summer.Sure wish it would come back for another season.I love the relationship that was developing between rube and george. It was father, daughter.
Direct to dvd movie coming early 09!
I watched this show on DVD about 2 years ago and just recently started watching it again with a friend! I love all of the characters, especially George and her sarcasm!
i love George, but RUBE is my FAVORITEEEEEE He's not in the upcoming movie though =/
i love George, but RUBE is my FAVORITEEEEEE He's not in the upcoming movie though =/
OOO I like Rube too! But what is this about a movie!?!
OOO I like Rube too! But what is this about a movie!?!
I think it is a direct to dvd movie or something but I liked Rube too, sadly I never really got into except for a couple episodes.
I think it is a direct to dvd movie or something but I liked Rube too, sadly I never really got into except for a couple episodes.
I got into it when I didn't have cable this past year at college and so I was watching TV shows on some illegal site online and I came across it and they had all the episodes... so I watched it all one weekend when I had nothing to do...
theres a direct to dvd movie coming out early 09!
theres a direct to dvd movie coming out early 09!
I hope it's good and not just something patched together but I have faith it will be good and it might be something I can check out.
the new Rube is Desmond, from Lost *edit* he doesn't actually PLAY rube..hes just head reaper, but a new character
I loved that show....all the good ones get cut early, DLM, Huff...it can be so frustrating when they keep mindless fluff on and lose the shows with some substance
I caught several episodes on Sci-Fi Network last year during a Marathon. George's sarcasm caught me pretty off-guard, but in a good way. She really drew me towards the series. I was digging around looking for showtimes when I found out online that the series was cut. It wasn't a very happy time here, as you can imagine. xP Do they sell the episodes on some sort of Box Set? I have a coupon to Borders. Haha.
Seasons 1 and 2 are both on DVD! Go spend money!
While we are on the Showtime death series theme, has anyone watched Dead Like Me?
Bacchus....I'm 7 episodes into Six Feet Under and I totally recommend it. ASAP! And I've seen the entire Dead Like Me series....I made a thread about it on Vevmo here awhile back. its GREAT. fantastic show!! And there's a new DVD movie coming out on the 17th. Totally worth it man
Yeah, I also have seen all of Dead Like Me. It's a great show! I can't wait for the movie on the 17th either.
I don't know. I watched the pilot and it didn't resonate with me. I can see a hint of promise and enjoy the cast, but at the same time the rules of the undead make no sense what so ever. Why don't the reapers just say screw it and go on living their lives as their new identity? There doesn't seem to be any universal order to this premise. I still trying to decide if I should watch episode 2...
My dad and I used to love this show! I just found it to be hilarity that George died from a toilet seat falling out of the sky, but I am easily amused. I think the only other show that had me more bummed for being cancelled before it's time was when I was in 6th grade and My So Called Life went off the air after only one season. Jordan Cattelino???? was my dreamboat. :)
Bacchus - Keep watching! it's really fun, albeit, somewhat episodic in nature...but the cast, the dry wit, the humor....i love it! Watch a little more before deciding.
Bacchus - Keep watching! it's really fun, albeit, somewhat episodic in nature...but the cast, the dry wit, the humor....i love it! Watch a little more before deciding.
I'm going to watch another episode. On netflix, a few people said it took to the fourth to start enjoying it. Again, my main issue is that it seems like the rules of the undead are cobbled together. For instance, why when the undead are talking to the dead (that no one else can see) do people not give a second look? Or how do the undead touch and grab the dead being they do not have a physical being? How the hell did they get on top of that building in the pilot? Can they fly or something? What happens if they get run over by a train? None of this can be logically explained with the framework given. Yes, I know...I'm being a real stickler here. Not sure if I can just let it all go and enjoy. Too many things feel amiss...
Dead Like Me: Life After Dead (the movie) is not only available on DVD now, but it's available to WATCH INSTANTLY on Netflix! The movie has had a "Very Long Wait" since it came out a month ago, and they just added it for instant viewing. Even though it's 1am, I'm watching it NOW =)
I watched it on saturday off of netflix also and I loved it, I wish the show was still on.I don't know why they cancelled it, from what I thought I knew it was successful, so Y remover it?

I think it was stupid for Dead Like Me to be cancalled. It was so refreshing to see all the characters again!
