Kenny FTW!!!!! finally a guy w/ personality on this challenge
I'm guessing you prefer definition 4.
-- Distinctive qualities of a person, especially those distinguishing personal characteristics that make one socially appealing
I'm inclined to agree. Kenny is at his best, though, when he doesn't think he is God's personal gift to women. If he is just Kenny, without all the BS with which he has occasionally surrounded himself (like Evan), then he is very likeable and a fun guy for people to be around. It would be especially nice if he could demonstrate the essential qualities of a team player which one must first be before being a successful leader.
I think I would like to comment further on the new cast revelations. As much as I protest that I would rather have any other warm bodies filling in the slots that Kenny and Evelyn occupy, they still make for interesting TV.
Without Coral or Beth making their presence felt this time around, the series is in need of sound bites and Kenny is a walking Tickle Me Elmo on crack. Even though he is an attention seeker with a bloated sense of self - he still drops the one liners that MTV likes to use to fill the action scene voice overs. Although nowhere near as entertaining as the above mentioned legends of the Challenge, this role needed to be filled by someone and he seems to be the right guy for job - even if everything about him is so very, very wrong.
Concerning Ev, I think "we" got off on the wrong foot during Fresh Meat. She solely blamed Danny for her ouster (which was true, but still!) and that gave me the immediate impression that she was not one to account for her own actions.
With Inferno III, she played a robotic fembot that was unfeeling and without punch.
It was with the premiere of Gauntlet III that I began to sense that she was a real person with real feelings, and not the female terminator. I know that the situation with Brooke was quite devastating to her and with the reunion special we got to see a side of Ev that previously lay dormant in the MTV editor's video vault. She seemed vulnerable and that allowed the viewers to peer for a moment into her soul. I actually liked what I saw.
Now I am not saying Ev is going to become a favorite of mine, but I will cut her a little slack and accept that she is going to be on the show (as probably the most physically dominant female competitor of all time.) I think that you all should do the same...
I do agree with everything you have said. Evelyn and Kenny make great television because people love to hate them.
Evelyn wasn't on Fresh Meat long enough to get a glimpse of her personality. The Inferno 3 we saw a bit of attitude but she was so robotic. The Gauntlet 3 we saw her true colors nd from that moment I knew I absolutely disliked her. We do need people to fill in the cast and they both will be interesting to see around completely new players, but like Bacchus said the Challenge legends are gone.
That is the one thing that the Challenge is missing but they do have lives outside of the Challenges. Kenny's one liners don't even touch the things that come out of Coral or Beth's mouths. Hell even Aneesa said damn funny things. I have never seen a funnier moment than when Aneesa went off on Cara.
I have to agree that she is the most physically dominant but I don't think she is the best female to be on a Challenge.
No Cara and Aneesa didn't really interact at all. Then again we don't see everything. But Aneesa was focused on proving her team wrong with her knee injury. That was her main conflict on Inferno 3.
I would kill for Cara or Aneesa on this Challenge or another Challenge.
So I have been watching the first Battle of the Sexes on veoh,
I don't see it on that website? Where is it?
What about BoS2??
The only thing that would make this Challenge better is by making it bigger. I love the bigger sized seasons. If thee was atleast 24-28 people it would be a lot better. But they can only get a certain number of people I'm guessing.
So lots of the same ole, same ole. I wonder if Svet will come back and do another challenge, she did suprisingly well on The Duel. As for Evelyn and Kenny, meh. Knew it was coming. I dislike both of them, but Kenny can be entertaining some of the times.
That reminds me...where did Paula Walnuts come from?
because now it should be Paula Coconuts
lol, I think they gave her that name because she went crazy several times on her season.
i hope more people from the real world Hollywood like Joey and Greg are on this challenge, can you imagine Greg's attitude conflicting with his teammates and/or many of the more experienced competitors that may be on the show if the current rumored cast doesn't hold.
So far, we are at an odd number of cast members. Either 1 or 3 more are destined to join. I have to agree with renaldob with saying it may be the Duel 2 but only rules wise.
Nick and Brittni would be good to get more young blood, but I haven't seen anything of them yet so I do not have an opinion on them joining. I do hope we get more Hollywood cast members. I think Joey would never join a Challenge due to his addiction and being there would be bad.
Please, I beg of you, if you aren't going to give me any alums, give me Greg. I promise *fingers crossed behind my back* I will not watch unless CT, Coral, Greg, Wes, Veronica, Tina or someone equal fiesty is cast.

Can Tina even come back after hitting Beth? I know it was barely a little tap but did she get banned for it, or is she still on the playing field?

Doesn't sound like she would be welcomed back even if she could return per the rules, but what do I know. ;)

Johnny Banannas and Paula Coconuts... All we need now is a little Captain Morgan to get the party started. :devil2:

Sometime people come back. I wish I could explain BMP's philosophy on this; but, having been directly involved in two of previous incidents on behalf of clients, I'm completely at a loss to understanding the rationale.
All I can say is that I believe it would be an exceptionally unwise move for MTV to bring Tina back, as Viacom's attorneys are very well aware. There is evidence that it was a premeditated assault on Beth and not a spur of the moment incident. Conveniently, Tina announced that she had moved past the point of being at all interested in another challenge, so it is a moot point.

Why am I not surprised?
Geez with a cast like that, this challenge is gonna be a snoozer unless they do something COMPLETELY different as far as format goes. Its good to see my boy Dunbar and the lovely miss Tonya is on it.
At this point I must comment...why the hell is it only the newer people on these challenges??? I would absolutely LOVE for a couple of vets like Theo, Adam, Coral, Rachel and Veronica to do another challenge. Hell even Evil Emily would be better than some of the fresh meat (speaking of them, notice that Kenny is on there without his bf (I mean bff) Evan...he gonna be all lonely awwww).

Now for the cast. I can not say that this will be the final list (I am sure a few names will be added and maybe one or two subtracted.) However, I can say with a high level of confidence that this will basically be the cast that we end up with when Challenge 2008 hits the airwaves this fall.

I wouldn't worry about poor Kenny. Ryan was nice to Tyler when they were on camera. I'm sure if the nights are cold, he'll make sure Kenny doesn't miss Evan too much. ;)
Why the newer people? Because the MTV execs see the youngest viewers as the heart of their audience... an audience who only cares the cast is skewed towward their age, regardless of ability, etc. They want the casual viewers and know that we will keep watching no matter how offer we say we're not going to. Their approach is one reason I prefer not the work for any network. They don't appreciate that the real key is to steal people from the shows in other demographics. There are at least 3 million former Real World and Challenge viewers that have moved on to something else. When the old school types reappear, the ratings spike in the higher end of the demographics.
Theo, Coral, Rachel and Veronica have all said they've retired their challenge spurs. Adam has not.
Update: I finally got the assurances I needed to return Tyrie back to our list of cast members.
I had taken him off the list because I could not get a second source to confirm the information after one of my contacts backed off their initial story/cast list. Now, after weeks of due diligent research (and a new friend) - I am able to confirm Tyrie will be present on this upcoming challenge.
That gives us 18 total (9 girls/9 guys.) There might be a couple more, there might not be (although I am hearing another name tossed around.)
