On here they look like they've been reduced on my computer---but at Ning they can be blown up to full size. My scanner is odd---all the pages I scanned were the exact same size (and the same settings were used for each one) but all turned out different MBs in the end. (I scanned an article in that magazine that I thought my friend would like, and it ended up only 2KB!:scratch_one-s_head:) That scanner has a mind of its own---and I've only had it for a month or two!

This was for People's special edition, "MTV Turns 20," from back in the Summer of '01. I've looked through the whole magazine (which is maybe a little over 100 pages, if that) and only season 1 was featured. That is interesting news. But what I do know is that those are the most current photos of Julie, Heather, Becky and Andre floating about---they seemed to have disappeared after this! Norm did do another challenge in 2002[?] (was it Renaldo who said it was "The Gauntlet"?) so that's the most current glimpse of him. I remember when this issue of People came out and I mentioned to a friend that Julie had a baby, the friend lamented, "She probably lost her figure." How far from the truth that was! Julie looked like she kept her shape! I just wish we had 2008 photos of the season 1 roommates that have disappeared from the face of the earth. Bummer. Let's see, who from RW's had kids? Julie (the one mentioned in the article, and another in '04) Tami (two girls, who I think are child "mactresses" [model/actresses]) Rachel & Sean's brood Pam & Judd's son Jacinda (but since she's distanced herself from the show, I doubt she'd want her kid involved) Irene (season 2) had a couple (a son and another one, I'm not sure) Brynn (either has two sons with another baby on the way, or one son with a baby on the way) ...and many others I can't think of at the moment. I know Melissa from New Orleans and her husband are trying---her blog has gone from funny accounts of Shorty and Mercy to a boring "I wanna be a mommy!" blog. (Not knocking motherhood, but some women seem to only identify themselves as mothers and live vicariously through their kids, as opposed to having their own identities, hobbies, goals and ideas outside of motherhood.)

If you read the blurb from his 2001 update I posted upthread, it said that he was going to commit suicide by slitting his wrists, but a message from above [me paraphrasing] stopped him. I think he's now on "a path of enlightenment." Eric was sensitive back on RW, but he was never this issue-laden. But I think he works with a youth-empowerment program now, which is a plus, so I can't knock him for that. And Andre? I actually found he has updated photos on his IAmOnMTV page: [url=http://www.iamonmtv.com/personality/195850]MTV's The Real World | Andre Comeau[/url] The other season 1 pages there weren't created by the actual cast, but probably by interns who work for MTV. The only picture for Julie's is the same one I'm using here (which was easily found online) and only mentions her first son, and the photo for Heather's is pretty old. That actually goes for a lot of the older RW casts---the photo used for Rebecca from Seattle was that of **** star Rebecca Lord, not Rebecca Lord from RW. Those interns did not do their research.

And another thing about Andre's IAmOnMTV page (a few posts up): He actually responds. So if anyone's interested, drop him a line. So let me correct myself: only Julie, Norm and Heather haven't been public in the past few years. Heather has to have something going on. I can't imagine someone as live as Heather going back into obscurity. (Norm either, actually.) I'll try looking again for stuff on them later tonight. (Don't bother searching for Julie stuff---there's nothing current about her beyond "The Wedding Video.")

Now, I said I'd try to find current info on Heather, because I couldn't believe that she'd just drop off the face of the earth. I found this video clip of her on Jamie Kennedy's "Blowin' Up" (from '06) where they're out eating sushi and she's giving them advice on how to get an album produced. (You may have to sit through Jamie's bad "Malibu's Most Wanted" schtick before you get to the actual clip of him and Heather.) Granted they can't take two weeks out of their lives, but just for a weekend at least, or updates on MTV---dag.
