Miss Perú Universo 2008 - Johanna
These are the official candidates for Miss Peru Universe 2008. Johanna comes in around 3:16 into the video. If only I could speak Spanish! It looks like she has some tough competition. I wonder if the fact that she is representing the United States will work against her? Presentación Oficial de Candidatas
Good afternoon, my name is Johanna Botta, I am 24 years old, and I represent all the Peruvian people in the USA
That is what she is basically saying but my mom couldn't translate it word for word...different dialect I guess
Thanks Stacee! Now that I look back, I probably should have taken Spanish in high school and college rather then French. ;)

But then again, English is probably WAY harder to learn from someone not brought up speaking it...

Alright, I just typed in a bunch of legit looking (albeit bogus) information and it looked like my vote was counted. ;)

Johanna was so wasted at the Awards Bash I wonder if she even remembers this. Hammmmmmmmmmmmmerd!
Holy shit. Hammmmmmmmmmmmmerd!
What is she saying Bacchus??
I just did a google search to see how the contest went but found out that it takes place on either the 1st or 2nd of May. I also came across this post from the Voy forums. <------ link
Is Johanna Botta still competing for Miss Peru Universe? -- heard some rumors that she wasn't? THE ORGANIZATION WHICH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MISS PERU GAVE ALL THE CONTESTANTS A DATE FOR THE FINAL......... BUT SINCE THEY KEPT ON CHANGING THE DATES OVER AND OVER AGAIN.......JOHANNA DECIDED TO LEAVE THE COMPETITION.......MAINLY BECAUSE SHE HAD WORK RESPONSIBILITIES IN L.A. SHE COULDN'T POSTPONE ANY LONGER.
If true it would explain why she was not concerned about getting wasted at the awards show or maybe she decided after the show.
If true it would explain why she was not concerned about getting wasted at the awards show or maybe she decided after the show.
I got the impression from doing research on the pageant that it is really a fly by night operation. I understand that there is some pedigree to the event and they have been doing it for half a century, but all the videos available are shoddy or verging on soft ****, the associated websites look like they were based on 1995 technology and there is hardly anything substantive offered in press releases. Maybe I am just spoiled by how Americans promote similar contests? I can understand why Johanna would want to jump ship, if she in fact did.
Yeah i agree bacchus it reminded me of that DOA Volleyball Game... borderline ****
Johanna did elect to leave the pageant, and from what I know it was for an excellent reason. She told me she will likely write something about it when it is appropriate to do so -- presumably after the pageant so as not to inappropriately influence the outcome. Also, at last report, she is single and loving it. She is not living in LA.

There would be absolute outrage if she won being that all the other beauties represent the spectrum of localities across the country. Glad to see she is working on other projects (like signing magazines, etc.)

Hopefully I'll secure the appropriate signatures. Johanna is in New York at the moment but hopefully returning to LA in the next day or two.

Since Jillian has mentioned this in an interview elsewhere, I guess I can now tell that Johanna has moved to the LA area, She and Jillian (Gauntlet 3) are sharing an apartment. The sports bar that Johanna, Trishelle and Wes are part owners of is called The Parlor, at 1519 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica. I stongly recommend it for the food, the beer, the sports on satellite and the people... Click Here: The Parlor
Johanna really needs to secure that top, lol!
I thought Jillian and Frank lived together...
They did. (Countless people would now likely come to the conclusion that they are no longer a couple. That assessment would be inaccurate.)
They did. (Countless people would now likely come to the conclusion that they are no longer a couple. I like Frank and Jillian and think they are great together. It seems like she moved in with him not necessarily because they were ready for that step (since they had only been together a few months), but because she was moving cross-country and had nowhere else to go. Maybe it was always meant to be a temporary arrangement until she could find a roommate. OTOH, If they decided it was too fast and wanted to take a step back, that shows a lot of maturity. Either way, I hope they'll be happy for a long time.

Good for her for livin with her girlfriends for awhile! (and yes, I hope her and Frank are happy as well)

I really like Frank when he was on G3, he seemed to have really come out of his shell these past few years...even on the Las Vegas reunion show...he seemd like a fun guy. And Jillian...I rememebr when she came on RR, I wasn't too fond of her at first, but warmed up to her once we got to know more about her through the years.

They seemed quite happy and in love just a few months ago--wonder what happened to go downhill so quickly. Personally, I think it's mostly just good news for the guys who can now date Jillian...
