This might very well be the last time I address what initially was looking to be a powerhouse season of Survivor. Voting off Mikey? Are the rookies as dumb as they look? Yes, lets get rid of our top 5% of players so we are left with Chet to go against Ozzy in all future challenges. Are these people for real? Idiots!
I initially came into this season pulling for the fans, but all hope is lost. There was not even a moment of team unity in the first four episodes and they are absolutely doomed as a unit. It seems that Burnett realized this and rumors floating around from the previews allude to a merge next week. Great. Lets reward the cannibalizing that has taken place by removing the advantage given to the team with the stronger players.
I guess I can see why this is going down. Now that the rookies are set on the standard boring path of wiping out the rest of their own good players (Seppuku) and the faves are divided solidly with the Penner/Eliza side of camp marinating for a future meal, Burnett has realized early on he needs to mix things up. I have not read any spoilers but I am wondering if the merge is more of the gimmick type merge we have seen in the past (not the final merge?) No matter what, unless the power couples of Ozzy, Amanda, James and Parvati are dispersed (don't worry production will start there first) this game will be over in three weeks time when they consolidate power and remove the last vestiges of substantiative rebellion.
In other news, I was happy to see Ozzy get the immunity idol. He seems to be a great guy and an awesome athlete. I don't have a problem pulling for him to win.
