So the twist is soul mates. Logical assumption is that 8 couples will be competing and, quite possibly if the promo is to believed, evicted together as a couple. (and lends credence to a shorter season :D ) There is at least one gay couple because there are two more guys than gals. I am super psyched and I can't wait until Tuesday. BTW, when I was on Alex's MySpace the online indicator was on. I wonder if they are not in the house yet. They probably are, and his designate is already holding down the fort.

Finally, The Early Show just revealed. (now I have to quickly shower and get to work) This from Allison G (producer... I never remember how to spell her name) The Twist is indeed soulmates. But not couples. 16 complete strangers. They filled out a "Love Match" application as part of the auditions and BB has matched them with their soulmate. They will live together, compete together, sleep together, rule HOH together and ultimately be evicted together. Confirmed that there will be homosexual pairing(s).

Yeah Sof, there is only one over 30 (Sheila) and she's an ex-model (was in penthouse) 45 year-old, single mom that likes to party. In her clip she said something about hot guys and flirting/hooking up. So, young crowd...love matches...sharing the same bed. CBS is banking on some hook-ups for sure.

I am going to be straight up and say that I am a bit disappointed in the female cast right away. They all look like, well.....not my type. Maybe these are just bad pictures (lets hope nobody cries over them!) The good news is once I get to know them my opinion will change. I was never much for glamor shots anyways. You are right Sofrito, they are very young. Sheila sticks out like a sore thumb. I say she is out the door in the early going as there is not even a thirty something contingent to bridge the gap. Bacchus it is my understanding that they will be paired right away with their soul mate and I imagine will learn the twist shortly after entering the house. Allison said that they will be sleeping together in the same bed and will be doing competitions together as a team...meaning no single HoH. Sleep together, compete together and get evicted together. I'm not sure what the process was for the matching (we'd have to see if any one of those on-line services are sponsoring...most likely match.com as I believe they do work with Dr. Phil and he's CBS as well). Maybe based on the applicants they did a match within those moving to the next round...or they selected 8 and then did a match in the system as a whole and recruited their soul mate to be on BB9.

OK! I didn't get it until you broke it down for me. I am going to like this twist! It would be awesome if a majority of them actually were soulmates in the truest sense of the word. Awwww....how cute! Ok...never going to happen. I smell blood in the water! So....if their soulmate goes, do they go? Is it double evict every week? Or is it that you are paired with a soulmate and can send them to the slaughter? I am a little slow on the uptake today.

Yes, in essence, double eviction every week. Straight from Allison's mouth they will be evicted together as a pair. Should be very interesting because like you said it's unlikely that everyone will like their soulmate.

There are only enough pairs for 6 evictions. Then we will have the final vote to see who gets the $500,000 and who gets $50,000 (or does the winning pair split the final prize? That would mean 5 evictions and then a finale.) In any event, this means that we are looking at around 6 weeks in the house. So for those that do not have Superpass yet, get the 14 day free trial on the 12th and then you will only have to pay for one full month to enjoy the entire season ($14.99)

Rumors are that it runs until May, but by calculations the final two pairs would be the first week of April. Maybe there will be a couple of non-eviction weeks. Or at the half way point...they will be evicted as a single entity and not a couple. I guess we'll find out shortly. I've already paid for three months. LOL My subscription was renewed in January. Although I'm still thinking about getting the Superpass Reloader. I think having the ability to record the feeds will come in handy since I can't pull any all nighters this time around. A young crowd is a good thing, and if last year was an indication ... it means I can work all day and not miss a thing. ;)

Okay, I have to say that when I heard about this I thought it just seemed stupid. To be paired and eliminated with someone you don't even know doesn't seem fair. For all the whining that Eric did about how he couldn't play his own game, I kind of agreed with him. Now no one in the house can play their own game. And ummm how often do these survey things really get things right on matching people up? I for one don't buy those match.com commercials, they are all actors! Lol. Or if they're not, of course they're going to find a few happy couples that met through their site, they only have like a zillion members. I guess I won't judge too much until the show starts and the twist is fully explained to us. Complete sidenote. I think it's kind of cool that a tmz papparrazzi made the cut. It's almost enough to tempt me to get the feeds in hopes of hearing him tell funny stories about celebs he's trailed, or who's cussed him out, etc.

One more thought. So will a total of four people be up for noms each week? So instead of making potentionally one enemy each week, you'll be making two while the other two you nominate go home. And then if one of your noms wins the veto you and you have a replacement nom, you will have potentially made four enemies by the end of your reign as HOH. And what happens if you are at a stalemate with your partner as to who to nominate and neither of you are willing to budge. What happens then? For us fans, it would suck if one of our favorites and one of our least favorites were paired together.

I guess I just don't like the mob mentality that sometimes affects the live feeders. The whole Donato fever was not something I wanted to catch. Even in BB6, I was for James all the way. I enjoyed Kaysar but thought he was too arrogant for his own good. But as Bacchus will tell you I am easy going and can take the heat. :D

I don't buy the whole "Matched based on personality compatibility test or whatever" These people were matched to maximize the entertainment value of the show. The ones who are truely compatible are being set up to be the showmances and the ones who already hate each other were obviously set up to be in conflict with each other.

What compatibility test would put Adam with anyone? The fact that they broke up Jen & Ryan just goes to show that the match ups were rigged for entertainment value and in house strife. Thanks Mark :D I think a couple of them were truly matched because I predicted two pairs based on their bios on CBS. I was actually leaning towards Jen and Parker being matched but I wasn't sure. But definitely a lot of them were paired for drama.
