Amazing Race: Ep. 1205 - Let's Name Our Chicken Phil
I am going to be totally honest and say that CBS really mislead me this week. From the previews they really made it seem like karma would come to get the blondes. In reality there was no karma, just a really lackluster, predictable leg of the race. Once the Blondes decided to use the U-Turn on a team that was way behind, they sealed the deal and eliminated any real drama. Yet, I kept my hopes up throughout being that CBS made it seem like there really was a chance. I mean maybe the Blondes would forget their chicken, right? Wrong! Lorena and Jason had really become my favorites 4 episodes in and it is going to be hard for me to choose another team from the heart. I guess TK and Rachel for the time being will do. My most hated is a toss up between the Barbie Blondes and the Evil Blonde + bad puppy dog (Shana and Jennifer/ Jennifer and Nathan.) I almost lost it when Jen yelled at Nathan for trying to give her a hug after the roadblock and then she had a breakdown that was completely unsportsmanlike at the finish....UGH. One of those two needs to go, SOON!
This was the first episode that I have actually caught since the premiere. And I was so happy to see that my underdogs (father and daughter team, and the grandfather grandson team) are still firmly in the race!!!! I felt bad for the team that got eliminated also, I really thought that the blondes were going to go. There's nothing really likable about those girls. But at the same time, using the U turn almost definitely saved them from elimination, so I guess you can't hold that against them. As far as Jen wanting the Azaria to GIVE them first place.... uhhh this is a competition, has anyone ever been known to LET someone have first place in a competition???? Especially one that involves a million dollar prize??? Time for a reality check, sweetheart!
I was really glad that Hendekea spoke up when whiny Jen said that they had already won 2... Seriously, this is a race. Not, oh please, after you. Until tonight I didn't even like Lorena...I was pleasantly surprised to see that even though they were way behind the whole leg that she did not go into hysterics. I think the Blondes seriously miscalculated on the Uturn. They thought the team behind them was Jason and Lorena and not TK and Rachel. If I were the blondes I would have used the UTurn on TK and Rachel because then it would have been a closer competition for the last two teams and thus saving themselves. Who am I kidding, I would never have used it. lol Anyway, they messed up and may want to get their vision checked when they get home. and that Nicolas boy is really getting on my nerves. He is so incompetent .... he always makes his grandpa do all the work. And he's pushy. "come on, lets go" Okay dude, all you are doing is holding the bags, you've done nothing else.
I think that Hendekea should smack her brother once in awhile just for laughs. You were right about them Kathleen, they do bicker a lot. I am going to go out on a limb and blame Azaria. For such a smart guy he really argues about the stupdiest things with his sister! P.s. I totally have a crush on sis. ;)

I was hoping that this would have been a non-elimination leg...but deep down I knew it was too early. I wanted some pay back for the Blondes. Maybe DK and Rachel will give some anyway in honor of Jason and Lorena. I really hate Nicolas, but I already said that. :D I think Don is cool for putting up with that kind of ****. He's a funny guy. I think Azaria and Hendekea will continue to dominate but I really think Azaria needs to loosen up a bit. I'm still rooting for the Goth team. ;)
Well that is the thing this year, no non-elimination legs. Of course the clues still say "may be eliminated" so the cast is seemingly not aware of the change. They (CBS) said they did it to add more suspense to the legs, but it is more realistic that they made the change to save the cash from producing two more legs. ;)
Really? I thought I heard Phil say that there would be 2 non-elimination legs when he was giving the rundown in the season premiere. Could be I just assumed that what he said, because that's what he used to always say. :D In the end the non-elims didn't really have any effect. The teams always managed to get the cash to make at least one more leg. I'm not sure, but I don't think a team ever came back from that and went on to win. I like the UTurn so far...the two tasks this leg were not that hard or time consuming, a team, if not that far behind, could have easily stayed in the race. Alas, Jason and Lorena were just too far behind. I know they do it for suspense, but I really wish they would time stamp their scenes.
I personally wish they would have kept them in as I liked the minor hope that my favorite team, no matter how far out of it still had a chance! :D
The Amazing Race 12 will drop its non-elimination legs, introduced in the first season, executive producer Jonathan Littman told The Orlando Sentinel’s Hal Boedeker. As a result, two episodes will be dropped (12 episodes aired last season; 13 the previous few seasons), and Boedeker reports that’s “to create more excitement.” Source: Reality Blurred
