Amazing Race 12: Ep. 1202 - I've Become the Archie Bunker of the Home
I've Become the Archie Bunker of the Home This episode really allowed us to see just what these teams are made of physically and mentally. One thing is for sure, the men definitely did come off as the weaker sex! Was tying knots really that hard? Nathan was cruising along and then all of a sudden he came to a complete halt and needed to be prodded along by his personal she-devil. Luckily Jen (an evil name for sure) had the brains to work through the "knot puzzle" but at the expense of Nathan's manhood. There must be some great sex in them there hills as her constant derogatory attitude is quite a price to pay. Speaking of non stop mouthing off, what is up with Ronald? OMG! SHUT UP! I feel so bad for Christina! Although, there is more to this then meets the eye and I really have to think about it from the perspective of him being a male business executive with a Chinese cultural background. Double whammy for a daughter who seeks compassion. When he talks about being older and it being hard to change I think what he is speaking of his upbringing and a heritage based on perfection as well as one in which woman can not succeed even if they do succeed. I do want to see where this story ends up, although at best they only have two, maybe three weeks left. The goths held steady and I think I can put up with their make up, as what is underneath is all that counts - right? I will not lie though, I really wish clown boy would have fallen face first in that ditch. Now that would have been funny! Best splash down award for the week goes to the blondes (I can't tell them apart yet so I'll just refer to one of them as the plural.) Nothing more entertaining then a prissy blonde chick going "splash" into a mud hole and getting dark brown grit clumped throughout her hair! Gramps gets a close second in this award category, although I really didn't need to see all of that! The lesbian ministers were the last to arrive and I was somewhat indifferent. They did not provide enough of a spark for me to really care, although they seemed nice enough. This does however bring up one request by me to CBS for the casting of the next Amazing Race : Pick two really hot lesbian women so that when they make out I don't almost pass out - and maybe I'll get a little happiness out of it as a bonus! ;)
Well I went and missed most of it. I was trying to sync my daughter's iPod and well the technology was ticking me off to no end and I was determined to win the battle. (I'm one of those parents that pre-screens everything...and I had stuff in my playlists that I deem not appropriate for an 11 year old, so it took me awhile to only get the Hilary Duff, Hannah Montana and Highschool Musica etc...tracks onto her iPod) Anyhoo, I believe I predicted the lesbian couple would be out second. :D I know it was an easy bet, but I was correct none the less. After watching the previews for next week, I want to retract any favorable arguments I had for whiny crying...scream at my boyfriend ... girl. I think I will have to set a reminder to find out if they still air TAR on OLN. I think it's still early in the race and it doesn't matter if I missed it. But I still like to see every development. I'm still leaning towards the Goth team. I like their attitude. And they make me laugh. I agree that the father and daughter team probably won't be around long enough for us to see more of their story or for them to even have a change to get know one another better in this context. In the beginning of the leg I thought it was hilarious that he was going off on 'grandson' for being rude and impatient...then the irony of him treating his daughter quite rudely and impatiently. I like the way she is able to stand her ground though. It's just a matter of him 'hearing' her.

But I still like to see every development.
Well, if you really, really can't find it on another channel.....there might be another way. ;) The funny thing is that while I was looking to see if CBS had the episodes online - which they don't - I found Elimination Station! They had this last year and I forgot all about it, assuming it was just an All Star thing. They show the people that were voted off in sequester, which happens to be in Portugal this year. Just head to the TAR Homepage and click on Video.
I am literally laughing - in a semi-evil way - right now as I think of that preview clip and the implosion that we are going to be treated to next week!
