The former Prison Break player faces a maximum sentence of six years and eight months behind bars, which is exactly what the petitioners are urging the judge to impose.
6 years for killing someone is the MAXIMUM? Wow....the value of life has really been dropping of late...
Well, he's not getting charged for Murder one, it's manslaughter. Although, I read that after all of Nicole Richie's driving mishaps while under the influence, the last time she was in court the judge told her that if she ever killed someone while driving under the influence in the future, she would get charged with first degree murder.
Well, he's not getting charged for Murder one, it's manslaughter
You can technically call it what you want, but in the end he snuffed out someone's life. That's the definition of murder to me. If he gets a wrist slap, it will be really to bad for the victim's family who probably are expecting justice... Maybe this is a case for the Dark Defender! ;)
I'm not saying that's what I call it, but that's what the law calls it.... What grown man parties and then drives around wasted with a bunch of kids anyway?? That is really sad and messed up.
A judge has sentenced "Prison Break" star Lane Garrison to a total of forty months -- nearly four years -- in state prison for the drunk driving crash that caused the death of 17-year-old Vahagn Setian. Before sentencing, a highly emotional Garrison told the victims' families he was "genuinely remorseful" and "sickened" by his behavior that night. TMZ was in court as the judge told Garrison he will get credit for the 91 days he has already served. That, combined with California's Work Time/Good Time early release program, means he will likely be in state prison for about 20 months. He must also pay close to $300,000 to the Setian family and to the two girls who were in the car. Lane was quiet after the sentence was handed down and was taken away in handcuffs.
http://www.tmz.com/2007/10/31/lane-garrison-sentenced-to-prison/
