Tonya Cooley The Real World Chicago Tonya is living proof of the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover." With blond corkscrew curls, china-doll blue eyes and a Baywatch body, Tonya's Barbie doll exterior belies her intelligence, strength and complexity. Born in the Pacific Northwest to a mother who neglected her, Tonya was pulled into the foster care system in her early teens and never returned to her biological family. When she was 17, Tonya moved out on her own. Shortly after high school, Tonya began attending EMT and Nursing School. Challenges: Battle of the Sexes, The Gauntlet, Battle of the Sexes 2, The Inferno 2, Fresh Meat, The Inferno 3, The Island, The Ruins. Walla Walla, Washington
She has meltdown written all over her lol.
Why do you say that? Her meltdown on the Island had to do with production not giving her her NEEDED meds. Otherwise I think Tonya is a tough competitor and smart player in the social game. I don't think people don't give her enough credit.

She needs to find her inner Bat**** Boss ***** and unleash. I really would like to see some hostility from her this go-around.
Anybody who needs meds is a meltdown waiting to happen, period.
What? That's B.S. Plenty of people need meds for many a different reason. And it certainly doesn't mean a meltdown will ensue. Have you ever needed something to stay regulated and then had it taken away from you? That generalization was not cool.
Anybody who needs meds is a meltdown waiting to happen, period.
I'm sorry, but that was a really dumb thing to say. I need meds for allergies, does that mean I'm a meltdown waiting to happen? Sure, the person on meds is a meltdown waiting to happen if they don't have their meds. But that is exactly the reason they have meds. Think about it.
I love Tonya! I felt really bad for her when Tina, Veronica, and Rachel would gang up on her. Even though she is a little crazy (not meaning to sound like I'm insulting her), I think she's a good competitor and knows the game well. I'm glad some other cast members see her the same, like Derrick.
Tonya is my girl. Plus we got Katie too? This will be soooo interesting!
I meant medication for chemical imbalances/mental issues which is clearly the kind of meds Tonya needs to be on.
Rambo, come on. I take meds and I don't think I am a meltdown waiting to happen granted I am. I love Tonya and she is one of my all time favorites.
Her MTV bio says she's separated from her husband. I thought it was surprising she got married in the first place, but it seemed like perhaps her being married was good for her. Like needed stability in her life.
She finally slapped the *****! I think that ever since The Inferno 2 she has known that this was going to happen
I'm actually surprised that she continued her problems with Veronica. I figured they would just avoid each other like she did with Katie on Fresh Meat, despite Katie hating her prior to that challenge. Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't it Tonya who posted a blog talking about how she didn't like the violence on these challenges around the time of the Duel or the Inferno 3? IRONY!
Tonya will beat a *****!
Used to like her, but she's getting to old for these challenges...At least she still brings in the drama
Old? Beth was doing them until her late 30s(which is not old).
Used to like her, but she's getting to old for these challenges...At least she still brings in the drama
Tonya's birthday: January 7, 1980 (29) Compared to some others on this challenge: Veronica: 11/27/77 (31) Syrus: 9/12/71 (37) Susie: 8/10/79 (29 during filming) Brad: 11/11/80 (28) Adam: 6/23/79 (29 during filming) And Mark who was on the last challenge is 6/2/71, so he was 36 when Duel 2 was filming. She is hardly old. She's just appeared on quite a few.
Just addign to what Molds is saying, Tonya's not much older than the rest of the cast. She's only 3 years old than Derrick and Johanna and 2 years older than Johnny and Kenny, just to name some because they don't seem too hold.

I say who cares how old they are as long as they are not 50 or something lol
I say who cares how old they are as long as they are not 50 or something lol
Please, Rachel admitted that she would do a senior citizens' challenge. lol
I would love to see a granny and gramp cahllenge.
Tonya is hot and a pretty good competitor, it's just that she gets caught up in the drama.
There's no reason people in their mid 30s and 40s can't do challenges--as long as they're in shape. 'Kids' in their early 20s are still like teenagers. They think they have all the answers and know everything. Wait till you hit the ripe old age of 30 and people tell you that you're over the hill. The only difference between you at 23 and you at 33 is that at 33 you'll know to keep your mouth shut when you don't know what you're talking about (ahem, rambo). Or, at least, we hope you will.

When was Tonya working at a grocery store?
Tonya I love you.. Your crazy but awesome... Gl on da ruins..
Ok so the first episode explains a lot. She is living back in Walla Walla after a failed marriage. Whoa I bet she is totally messed up in the head right now. The stress of having a failed marriage added to her anxiety must really be messing with her. No wonder she is drunk all the time. She is a trainwreck and I bet the producers are loving exploting that.
there is just some girls that break easily when people say stuff them tonya is one of them. i bet if she cuts down on her drinking and outside of these challenges she is a great chick.
I thought it was interesting she went back to Walla Walla. Yeah, it is probably cheaper to live there than in LA or elsewhere in Cali, but I was just surprised. I wonder if she is around her family now that she lives there again? Perhaps that could add to her stress and pain? Actually, does anyone remember her exact life story from RW Chicago? I know she was in foster care and I think she wasn't treated right. But is her family from Walla Walla, or did she move away from them to Walla Walla?
