Other RW/RR Challenge-Like Shows?

I have been looking for a show that is as good as the challenge, but no luck yet.I have watched survivor(watched the first three seasons) but it lacks the elimination round. What I really like about the challenge is that the competitors have to fight to stay, they are not just voted off like in survivor. In addition, all the drama building up comes to a climax during the elimination round, there are epics fights like on the Gautlet II in which Derrick had to go against Timmy or more recently CT vs Johnny. I don't really like shows which are all drama(Jersey Shore) and have no competition, the sport add ups perfectly to the drama. Any way I hope someone can help me.

I'm sure you can find it on VH1.com :)
Survivor this season is closer to the Challenges than it previously was. After you get voted off you go to "Redemption Island" to face off the competitor who was previously voted out and whoever wins stays on RI while the loser goes home.
Haha, no wonder I loved that show. Too bad white boy lost.
Too bad PUMKIN lost! :D
Too bad PUMKIN lost! :D
Too bad it's canceled!
Too bad it's canceled!
Too bad the casting began to suffer after the second season. ILM 1 & 2 had really good casts. The rumored ILM3 cast was disappointing and ILM4 was pretty lackluster.
There is the Amazing Race I guess, but that show is boring (except for the watermelon in the noggin episode)
There isn't any other shows like the RW/RR challenge and that's why people look forward to them. I love money could have been a great series, but vh1 ain't smart enough to know to keep the show around. It would be nice if they had a RW/RR challenge with a I love money format.
thing is, as far as the eliminations go, during the best years of the challenge (BOTseasons-Inferno II), half of the challenges didn't have elimination rounds, someone was just voted off (BOTseasons and BOTSexes 1 & 2)...
Girls Versus Boys from the N Networkd.
The Discovery Kids show "Endurance" was pretty interesting. I recently watched the first two seasons on veoh and it was pretty cool. Like the challenges they have an elimination round but it's pretty lackluster lol. If you can look past the corniness of the show, it's really interesting.
Of course the Challenges are a rip off of the old Battle of the Network Stars shows they had when I was still anti-matter. Not sure if they stream those anywhere. Doubt it.

It's actually how I found out about the RW/Challenges, with Jonna and all.
I think fear factor was pretty close to Road Rules... sort of; also, the Disney summer challenges with their stars facing each other... but just barely.
I think fear factor was pretty close to Road Rules... sort of.
The only big difference was the lack of a returning cast, but yes it was. It was better than the Challenges IMO EXCEPT when they just started having to eat ****** crap every episode.

An example would be Viewer's Revenge when Kina was freaking out to eat the maggots or whatever it was.

I think jumping between moving vehicles, and in particular, some of the underwater competitions in Fear Factor were much better and more unpredictable than the Challenges. I liked a lot of the Road Rules competitions, but the Challenges just aren't as interesting to me. While the challenges may be difficult, I just don't find them intriguing. I sometimes feel like the elimination rounds formats are chosen after production knows who is going in to advance whatever story they want to. I would much rather they knew what the competition was going to be before they decided who would be tossed in to the elimination.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Big Brother (US Version). They have competitions, strategizing, manipulating and drama. BB is probably the most similar to RW/RR Challenge.

The competitions they do on Big Brother are no where near competitive/challenging as the ones on the challenge. That's just how I see it. The strategizing and the manipulating is similar, but the games are completely different. On the drama side, you can get drama on any show if you have enough hot-headed, ramped up on alcohol people who you put onto a reality show.
In terms of format and not length, I would say Fear Factor. You probably wouldn't be satisfied with the "drama" though.
Wrong its not a rip ff of ****** whatsoever as that was a one off then and the resurgence of it in 2005 sucked badly.
A serial show can still be a rip-off of a one off if the concepts are the same. The length of a season or airtime doesn't change the concept.
I know that. Thats not what I meant or was saying. I'm just saying its not a ripoff since ****** and The Challenges are two different ideas.
I know that. Thats not what I meant or was saying. I'm just saying its not a ripoff since ****** and The Challenges are two different ideas.
Why do you keep calling it "******"?
Why do you keep calling it "Boners"?
I'm assuming "Battle Of the NEtwork Reality Stars" I agree with Big Brother being similar. True, the "challenges" are not nearly as physical, but the concepts are somewhat similar. I've never seen I Love Money or Endurance, so I can't comment on those, but BB is the only show that I've seen that I can really call similar to the challenges.
Does anybody know if the format itself of shows like Big Brother, Survivor and the Amazing Race are copyrighted? Personally, I would love to see a challenge season with the same format as one of the CBS reality shows.
You must not have seen season 16 of this show... ...consider yourself lucky
The Island was nothing like Survivor. When the first promos for the Island came on, I was so excited because I thought it would be like Survivor but I was wrong. When I say that I would like a challenge season like Survivor or Big Brother, I mean that I want the exact same game and elimination rules. After all the whining we were subjected to on The Island, can you imagine how much worse it would have been if they had to build their own shelter and cook over an open fire? It would also be interesting to see how a Tribal Council would go with the challenge cast. In the challenges, there are power players that seem to dominate most seasons, but in a Big Brother format, one of the less successful players could pull off a win in a HOH competition and put up two power players at once. I would love to see how that would play out. Hmm...maybe what I really want is for CBS to team up with MTV and invite some of the challenge cast members to be on one of their shows. Pure fantasy, I know.
