Real World Hollywood: Ibis Nieves breaks it down
Ibis (Road Rules X-Treme) gives her thoughts on The Real World Hollywood in her myspace blog:
Ok ok ok.... so I was procrastinating (as usual) the other day and caught a re-run of the latest season of Real World. I must say, things have changed a lot since the last one I watched (Real World New Orleans) consistently. Now, don't get me wrong... It's not that I don't like MTV by any means, it's just that I'm more of an Animal Planet, History, and Discovery Channel type of girl. I know you may find this hard to believe but I had never even seen a single episode of Road Rules before I was on it. Other than that the seasons of Real World that I've watched are: Miami, Boston, and New Orleans. It may just be me but I feel like it was a totally different vibe back in the day... About the Hollywood cast... all of them remind me of some of my friends from past seasons (OF COURSE) but more specifically, the Real World San Diego cast...Also, I just went onto MTV.com to read the Cast Bios provided in order to see what 'STEREOTYPE' each one is meant to fulfill... Disclaimer: I have NOT met any of them yet so I am assessing them on the same basis as every other viewer. Anyway, my first impressions of the new HOLLYWOOD cast: Joey: (The New Brad) Holy shit what a huge dude! Muscles, muscles, muscles.... Not gonna lie, I feel like he is getting positioned as the 'angry meat head' of the group but for some reason I get the feeling that there is probably a lot more to him and probably has a very sweet side. (I got this impression by the brief clip of his conversation with Brianna.) I must admit, I feel really terrible that MTV shows the whole montage of him hitting a bunch of shit b/c I'm assuming all of it happened during once, crazy, drunken (if not blacked out) night and it comes across as if it's something he did all of the time. Dave: Cute. The 'All-American' guy in the group... Didn't really see much of him so I don't really know what to say.... Maybe I'll be able to add something to his section later. Sarah: (The New Jamie) Absolutely naturally beautiful girl. I am gonna go out on a limb here and say that her and her boyfriend probably do not make it through the course of her stay at the RW house. And if they did make it, I am pretty sure they are currently 'having issues' over the episode that just aired. SIDE NOTE: I sympathize with her b/c it is VERY VERY VERY difficult to come into these shows with a boyfriend. TRUST ME, I did it! Even worse, having to go back to your life after filming wraps and waiting anxiously to see the episodes, praying to every Holy power you can think of that nothing looks worse than it is, really sucks! A lot of times, very innocent things can come across way worse on TV, especially when they show you drinking. Word of Advice for future RW/RR'ers.... Unless you are married, try your very best to come into the whole thing single. Here are a few reasons: 1. There's a lot of temptation. 2. More than likely, you'll break-up at some point anyway, and you will have missed out on other experiences. 3. This is a ONCE IN A LIFETIME experience and I truly feel that being in a relationship takes away from it b/c you're always looking to squeeze a call in, reassuring your significant other that you're not cheating, lying, flirting, etc., and of course, deep down second guessing whether or not you are doing the right thing... TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT.... Just speaking from someone who lived it! Will: So handsome! In a way he reminds me of Andre 3000, which is an immense compliment to him. Anywayssssssss, his little comment about the "kindergarten crush" was cute and immediately made me dig his energy. I kinda see the whole thing with him and Sarah (the girl with the bf) sucking for him in the end... I mean, I hope not but he appears to be a genuine dude who will just tell it like it is (especially after a couple cocktails). Brianna: (The New Robin) Probably my favorite right now. Tough exterior. Misunderstood.... Etc, etc.... I don't know but I like the fact that they show her flipping her shit in one of the promo ads. Kinda funny b/c I am assuming there was some build-up (and a lot of alcohol) and eventually, she blew her lid... Of course, we will see her acting like a psycho and assume there is something wrong with her. In my opinion, there is nothing wrong with losing your shit when there is a solid reason... and you know what... whoever disagrees is full of it b/c we ALL do it... except most of us are lucky enough that it doesn't make it on national television (yes, myself included!) As far as I'm concerned, this girl is hella cool and I will not let the whole ' she is possibly a fugitive' thing get in the way! Greg: (The New Frankie) The outcast. Why, Oh WHY does there always have to be one of these? I mean come ONNNNNN.... I am sure he is a cool guy and everyone probably really liked him after like the first week or so but, to the viewer, he is the 'guy nobody likes'. For example, when they show him leaving the crew and going home b/c he didn't want to wait in line... HELLO??? Who the *** actually enjoys waiting in line? Maybe he was tired, maybe he was hungry, maybe he needed to go to the bathroom? Kimberly: (The New Cammie) Ain't she the cutest little thing ya'll have eva seen??? The Southern Belle!! It's pretty evident that unfortunately for her, she is probably going to be seeing lots and lots of episodes where she 'breaks the good girl stereotype' and acts wildly. I must admit I feel bad for the girls who get casted to fulfill this role b/c the simple fact that you are from the South and expected to be proper, sets you up to have all those nights you can't really piece together be the focal point of a couple of episodes. Anyway, in a lot of ways, Kimberly reminds me a lot of my a couple of my sorority sisters and I can already tell that she is a lot of fun and knows how to party! Alright, that's it for now... I am going to try my best to watch a couple episodes at a time so that I can provide you with more opinions.... Enjoy the season! Faith, Hope, & Love Ibis
