The Grammy Nominees Are...
Kanye West led the pack of Grammy hopefuls on Thursday (Dec. 6) receiving eight nominations, including an album of the year nod for Graduation. Close behind with six nominations was Amy Winehouse, whose Back to Black is also up for album of the year, while Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, and T-Pain each got five noms. The other album of the year candidates are Foo Fighters' Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace, Vince Gill's four-disc set These Days, and Herbie Hancock's Joni Mitchell tribute, River: The Joni Letters.
West also earned nods for best rap album and best rap/sung collaboration for ''Good Life,'' which features T-Pain. Winehouse was also nominated for best pop vocal album and will go up against Taylor Swift, Feist, Paramore, and Ledesi for best new artist.
Fergie was surprisingly shut out of most major categories, though she did get a nod for female pop vocal performance.
The 50th Grammy Awards will be held on Feb. 10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA.
