Is there a correlation to skin color and fear of water/swimming? Like I know the stereotype but is there like any actual truth to it?
Here's how I see it: Culture, exposure, economics, and sometimes even location plays more into it. If you're black and from the island you probably think that theres no way in **** you shouldn't be able to not know how swim, you're surrounded by water all the time. But then there are in fact Black Islanders that don't know how to swim and that's because their parents didn't swim and didn't expose their children and children didn't even bother to learn on their own. No diff. from African Americans. There's still Black people that break that cycle, they're just not many on the challenge lol.
Look at certain sports for instance, if it were more afordable and exposed to more black communities I'm sure we would be seeing more bruthas playing hockey, golf, tennis, etc. But basketabll is more affordable in our schools/parks and shoved down our throats.

on AVERAGE black people have more muscle/lb of total body weight and longer legs along with a shorter torso which is why they dont do so well in swimming but wreck everyone else in sprinting, NBA, NFL, boxing, etc.

also, physicaly attributes are more due to geographical placement as oppose to race (which is a social construct).

Less surface area/lb compromises buoyancy. That's just basic physics
