I undertsand that people suffer from depression and all. That is 1 thing. Saying that you have cancer when you don't is a gross thing to say. I just can't see how the 2 come together. I think she is just a flat out liar. Who says they have cancer just to say it, then blames it on depression? May she be depressed? yes she prob is, but many people who are depressed don't make up stupid lies like that. Thats where I think her "fakeness" becomes apparent.
Exactly...it is a gross thing to say, no one is denying its not, but why she said it? You don't get it..and some of us a more sympathetic to the situation, especially others who have been in the same place or know people that have done/said similar things.
She said she had cancer...damn, I must have missed that episode! :X That's definitely out of line.

I don't think that will ever be mentioned on MTV. It is the elephant in the room that MTV is avoiding like the plague. When she got the phone interview with NPR and then all of a sudden they don't want to do a second interview, it was clear - at least to me - they had read up on her, being all the blog traffic was about her cancer claims at that time. However, that might not be the case. Maybe she just sounded like an idiot in her phone interview? Hard to tell.
Just because she "lied" about having cancer (which nobody here was around to corroborate in the first place, no offense) doesn't necessarily mean she lost the interview. They are thinking the same thing at IMDB as well.
which nobody here was around to corroborate in the first place, no offense
She freely admitted to doing so in an interview. This isn't breaking news.
“Yes, it happened. Yes, I regret it. If I could take it back, I would. I was going through some severe emotional problems at the time. I was lashing out and craving attention wherever I could. It was really destructive.”
Its funny because she comes across as the proactive type but yet cowers at times and wants to go home.
It ****** me of that why did she even joined the real world if she's gonna be whining about home or fake an illness. I mean does she really thinks she's gonna get a music career out of this!?!?! I think she auditioned for the wrong show on the wrong channel. They could've casted someone better than her, out of the thousands of people out there!!?!?
It's sad to watch such a beautiful and young girl, with a world of opportunity at her fingertips be so depressed. I hope she has sought help because lying about an illness for attention is not a good thing. I wasn't aware of that until I read this forum, and I am glad for her sake they didn't feature it as an episode on the show.

I'm one of (the few?) people who actually really like Erika, and I went one day on her Myspace to listen to a song she put up ("Under Lights", by her and Ian), but couldn't find it, then noticed the title of her Myspace was, "erika lauren music 2 NEW SONGS ON ITUNES SOON!" or something like that, and I'm excited now cause I like her voice!! I hope Under Lights is one of those songs...I really liked that song. Either way, good luck to Erika with her music career!
Even though I don't like her personally, I can say that she is a talented musician and I hope she has success in pursuits in that field.
Erika is in a new "We Are Lebron" We Are The World parody. I just saw it on MSNBC. 'We Are LeBron': Together, we can make a difference and keep him in Cleveland - video | cleveland.com
I don't think that's a parody...I think they're actually serious.
Either way, it's corny as hell. Then again, I'm not into sports, so I couldn't really care less about whatever this sudden Lebron news is.

She has 2 songs on iTunes now. They're pretty good, I downloaded them. Though I do prefer her with red hair.

Shes also in a video on youtube called "Parma State of Mind". Shes on the radio station here that I listen to and she is annoying as hell.

sad to hear.

on a side note, she’s super pretty. and honestly the whole DC season is underrated

She looks so young in this picture:
