I wouldn't announcement my retirement unless I was obligated to for some reason. I'd just tell BMTV that for the foreseeable future I am done and if anybody asked me I would just say I have no plans to return at this time. It seems like the kind of thing you could get an itch for out of the blue and maybe right now you have no interest or aren't able to go, a few years later, you could have some free time and be like... "why the **** not."
I'd never give anybody a definitive answer on that beyond saying, not for some time or something like that at least. I think the people who like doing the show will just drop off and not come back. I can see someone like Derrick or Wes leaving the door open because you never know.
That probably explains why a lot of people that were on The Ruins have not returned since The Ruins. Like Nick, Kimberly, Ibis, Veronica, Syrus, Susie, Johanna, Tonya, Brianna, Cohutta, Casey, and KellyAnne.
KellyAnne and Cohutta are the only 2 of the people above that have expressed interest in challenges since The Ruins.
Aw, I'm really missing Kimberly for some reason. It would be so interesting to see her with the new...er generation girls.
Here's a question. Who do you all think really enjoys doing the challenges? I mean actually enjoys the process, living in that environment, doing the challenges, finals, being on tv, etc. Seems like everybody has their moments but obviously this is a great way to get some cash. What people do you think have the most fun?
From what I hear, Sarah really enjoys doing these. I think there was an interview once or something where she said it reminded her of camp or something like that which she always loved. Derrick also seems like he really enjoys doing the shows.
As for the other end. I had heard that Ty views it as a means to an end and doesn't enjoy the process but he has been on three already and in the last one he seemed to be pretty comfortable. I definitely get the impression Abe doesn't enjoy the show very much. I think the actual challenges very much though. I think Abe might retire actually if he hasn't after BOTE already.
It seems like it changes on a monthly basis, haha. Mark "retired" after BOTS 2 and then came back for Duel 2, then said he was done unless they did Duel 3. He then came back for Exes and then said he was done. Flash forward to the reunion and now he's not, haha. Darrell also he was done unless it was Duel 3.
Didn't Mark do the Gauntlet 2 also? That was inbetween BOTS 2 and D2.

Yes. He made it to the finals on the vet team and lost. Julie didn't swallow all of her food before the rookies which in turn caused the vets to lose.
Yes. He made it to the finals on the vet team and lost. Julie and the rest of the Vets didn't realize that 248+1 was less than 250 and the Rookies won.
Fixed.

The Vets still would have lost even if they won the eating challenge, unless you think Katie could have beaten Susie and Kina at memory.

My memory is a bit fuzzy.
Some of you have great memories. I love these shows, but I pretty much data-dump them after watching them.
Regarding Abe and "retiring"... no, I don't think he likes the show. I think he loves competition, but you can clearly see he doesn't like the people who participate. And truthfully, I think he might be treated as a weirdo after his arrest.
Which sucks, because IMO he's one of the better competitors. I like him, CT, Wes (although not as much anymore since he started his obvious act), and a few others.
I think what keeps bringing Abe back is Cara Maria. He seems obsessed with her. If definitely think he'll keep coming back as long as she does.
Also, Paula is a fame*****. From what I've heard, her life is a mess outside of these challenges, and she's the queen at making horrible decisions. I imagine she'll do these until she's 60, if MTV allows her to.

On the contrary, Abram said in the past he doesn't want to do one with Cara Maria because he thinks it's bad for their relationship. I'm pretty sure he only did this one because of the big debacle at the end of Rivals and the fact that if he didn't do it, she couldn't either.

Abram said on Derrick's podcast that he doesn't watch the shows. I honestly think he doesn't care about what happens on the show.

I was not aware. Thanks for the info. I stand corrected.
I really do not understand what the huge deal about Diem not going to CT's brother's funeral is. I have missed the funerals of my own relatives. It really just isn't the character defining thing that people seem to think it is not to go to one of these things, especially once you have been to a few. Considering the rumors about CT's recreational habits, maybe she just didn't want to be around him and felt it was better she stay away. There is no right answer to complicated situations. Either way, I am sure Diem had her personal reasons.

I absolutely think that's a huge deal. It is obviously something that was extremely inportant to him and she should have been there if at all possible. If I was in a relationship and they weren't at my siblings funeral without good reason it'd be over immediately. If they don't care enough about me to show up at a funeral, then our relationship can't continue. With that said, we don't know why Diem wasn't there.

"Caring" was never the issue. You are assuming facts not in evidence.

Having buried a brother who died unexpectedly, I can say I see it very differently. My concern was getting my parents through it as they were overwhelmed not just by the loss but by all the people who, while well-meaning, just made the bad situation worse. My concern was for my brother and my family and if I had the power to lock everybody else until after he was buried, I would have. At no point did or would have anybody's presence or absence made an iota of difference to me, so yeah, I don't get it because of experience, not theory.
What makes people think that CT and Diem were together when his brother passed away? I thought that happened after the fact.
Either way, Diem clearly showed genuine regret on multiple occasions regarding the situation, so I don't understand why people continue to analyze it, aside from attempting to place her in a bad light.
The only reason Diem is made to look bad in this situation is because CT has a bigger fan base. There are so many women out there who "WISH" he would even be concerned with them and so many men who want to be like him. It's pathetic. Diem just does not have as many people tooting her horn. I dont know what to think about either one of them myself, but I think that Diem had her reasons. And from what I understand, there is more to the story.
And I also thought that they were broken up when his brother passed. Which is weird because the stories seem to conflict. CT's brother passed prior to the Gaunlet 3, and they were broken up on that show. But, Diem said in their interview that he stoped talking to her when she did not show up. Which is conflicting because they were talking on that show???

If I'm not mistaken, Gauntlet 3 was filmed in July 2007. CT's brother was most definitely murdered in August 2008.

Your right, my mistake. I meant to say The Duel 2. His brother passed before Duel 2 and yet they were talking on this show. However, in their interview she said that he stopped speaking to her after she failed to attend the funeral.

Well, kind of. You'd have to define "talking" a bit more clearly. CT and Diem were definitely not on good terms during Duel 2. They may have spoken to one another extremely briefly (passing hellos in the hallway, things like that), but they were not talking in the dating sense.
Oh I know they were not dating but, I thought that her missing the funeral was the event that ended their communication with each other. I thought that was the reason why they hadnt spoken to each other in 2 1/2, 3 years. But they were communicating on that show. That's why I thought the stories were conflicting.
I believe that there is more to the story of CT's brother funeral than most of us know. Until more information gets out on here from those who have inside information, it's not fair to make a judgement about Diem or CT.
Regarding CT's parents contacting Diem, I feel that that is completely normal for a number of reasons. One being that since CT told Diem that his parents hated her on the show, they have every right to correct him and not let her hold anything against them if they really do care about her. Second, on an after show Diem said that her own mom passed away and when she needed another mom she went to CT's mom. Just because CT and Diem's relationship didn't last, it's still reasonable that Diem could maintain a relationship with his mom. Afterall, to Diem, losing contact with her could be like losing a mother all over again.

Not attending his brother's funeral was a reason to stop talking to each other, but I guess that he hooking up with shauvon and didnt care about her feelings, and the whole fight with adam probably was an other good reason.

That was after Duel 2 right? They were talking on duel 2, it wasnt until the Shavoun think did things seem to get ugly and then on the after show CT mentioned the brother thing and Diem was still ****** that he disrespected her. Its interesting that the Shauvon thing was a bigger issue than the brother's funeral.
I know the reasons why they stopped talking, I am not questioning that. I am questioing when. And I understand why everyone does not agree with what I said about Diem and CT's parents but, I find it odd. I mean if Diem treated CT as bas as he claimed, then why would they want a relationship with her?
