Well, we'd already know that a team of Johnny / Averey would be safe every time lol
The same would probably be true for Devyn & Eric.
The same would probably be true for Devyn & Eric.
Hopefully this is never happening. Could anyone seriously stomach a full season of Devyn and Big Easy?
Well, we'd already know that a team of Johnny / Averey would be safe every time lol
Maybe. If Johnny performs well on the final & Averey is a good athlete they may be targeted
I agree with the whole idea that the Theme and Cast can potentially make or break a challenge season (rating wise)...but it also is what BMP/producers decide to edit into a weekly episode in my opinion. Is it me or did anyone else get the feeling that with Free Agents, BMP/producers dropped the ball with editing and piecing together episodes? Scenes seemed out of order, many were unnecessary or didn't make sense in the scheme of the challenge, almost like they did a cut and past to get the 45 minutes or whatever for the hour block. (I thought the episodes for the older challenges just flowed better from challenge through elimination and made more sense..) I'm not a die-hard fan and regardless of whatever the cast and theme for this upcoming challenge will be I'll continue to watch, I just feel like the quality of the show from theme to cast has gone downhill over the years.

I know what you mean! There was no real build up to anything except elimination rounds. I thought they did a good job leading up to Bananas/Jordan, Laurel/Aneesa, and Laurel/Theresa, but other stories came out of nowhere. The timeline and circumstances around the Nany/Johnny/Cohutta stuff was weird to me. And I literally would have had no idea about the Boston Strong Alliance if I was just watching the show, and not reading these boards or listening to podcasts.
Yeah, the editing this season seemed different to me. There was a distinct vibe this season compared to previous ones. I'm not sure if they were just too focused on the missions, or if there were just a lot of random scenes inbetween. I will say that the editing got better towards the end when there were less players to focus on.
Were the ratings better back in the day of 30 minutes episodes?
Maybe 20 episodes, 30 minutes each, gets the audience more engaged?
I've never checked, but I've seen older seasons online and found the half hour ones were better than the hour long episodes we've been getting. It could just be more filler in the hour long episodes than the half hour ones too.

Having 27 minutes to tell a story means you cut out the fluff and tighten things up. Now they have approximately 43 minutes to tell a story and much of it seems to be happenstance. They could tighten it up and be much better.
Hopefully this is never happening. Could anyone seriously stomach a full season of Devyn and Big Easy?
Those two are not that bad.
I do prefer the 30 minute episodes as well, but nowadays the vast majority of shows are an hour long. I don't see them ever going back to 30 minute episodes.
That aspect of the format really screwed things up. This system made it so people got rewarded for tanking missions and coming in last if they could tell someone who doesn't like them and would want to vote them in was gonna win. It was pretty stupid that players were often better served to finish in last place where a random card draw dictates who goes in out of 4-6 people then they would be to finish in second place where they'd be a lock to go in if the winner of that day was someone who doesn't like them.
That's where the game was severely flawed. I just saw an excerpt where Leroy admitted to throwing missions just due to that fact. That part of the game just wasn't thought out enough.

Yeah. This season it's like they focused too much on the challenge/eliminations and not enough on the drama/in-house stuff. and when they did focus on things non-challenge related it really didn't make sense and things were cut out.
When this show was 30 minutes it was a better flow and they seemed to accomplish more than the show does now in an hour and that's sad when you think about it.
I know this is off topic but, I haven't seen anybody say anything about a Battle of The Sexes 3. That would be kinda interesting. How long has it been since BOTS2?
People are always complaining that Battle of the Sexes is "unfair" so I doubt they would do it again.
In a way, it is. Physical challenges are often unfair for the girls (unless its Ev, Laurel, Jodi, Emily... ect)so there always has to be some mental aspect.
How about a simple All-Stars season?
How have All Star seasons done ratings-wise on other shows, like Survivor (relative to other Survivor seasons, of course).

How would a all star season even work? Unlike survivor the challenge always has old contestants returning so its not that " woah I haven't seen them on a while!" Besides what would the format be for all stars? How would they decide who is and who isn't ?

They don't need to announce their criteria (they rarely do). It just gives them an excuse to invite back as many past champions, fan favorites, and big personalities as they can get on the cast. Everyone sees "All-Star" and thinks "the best of the bunch". They don't have explain how they determine who the best is, however....
Just brainstorming for something they haven't done yet that easily relates to new watchers.

BMP does not want to do another Battle of the Sexes because it is unfair for the girls and there's also some sort of copyright dilemma, either with the name or the format of boys vs. girls or something like that.

Sadly would never happen because they don't cast only good ccompetitors and if people like Preston & Jasmine are on all stars then its just a joke

I think it is just the name that's the issue. I may be wrong though.
Yeah I guess when you stack the follower numbers against each other, CT/Cara take the cake with crazy passionate fans lol.
I wonder how Cara knew she didn't get a call. Maybe Abram got one and told her about it? Or she probably knew people already training for it. Either way, I think she needs a break to cool off from doing 7 shows in a row.
Wait, how do we know Cara didn't get a call?
BMP tend to surprise us, so Imagine we are expecting an exes and they come out with something else it would be great
Like Old School vs New School
Yeah both Robb/Marie are done.
I think Robb is no longer done. He is single again and when he said he was done, he was practically married.
It wasn't really a dating show, but yeah he presented himself in the show as single. They spend it new years, she went to a hollywood live interview with him for the show and they have been spotted eating/walking around and on dates together. Last time they were spotted holding hands was in NYC after the Free Agents reunion party. They don't want the crazy fans to know they are together because they are really passionate.
Diem does seem really private when it comes to her relationship with CT but I find it odd that she will have an instagram filled with pics of her friends and family and it is like he doesn't exist. It is like she is hiding a whole chunk of her life. I can kinda understand who she does it but I find it a bit extreme too. Your fanbase may be a bit crazy but they also helped you become popular and its given you a lot of opportunities.
Though it will not happen, it could be a good idea for season 26 to air before RW 30. It would give the Ex-Plosion cast a chance to appear (it can be debated whether or not their exclusion from Free Agents was the right move or not for ratings). Since it looks like filming dates for both shows will clash yet again, there likely won't be any RW 30 cast members on the upcoming challenge and that may hurt ratings a bit. Ex-Plosion got better ratings than Free Agents did, and a lot of newer fans were upset they weren't on it, doing the same thing with RW 30's cast might not be a smart decision.
I would def. air the Challenge first. And stop filming them together. It sucks having to sit around for SO many months after we know a show films. They could seriously start airing a change 2-3 weeks after filming.
I know it is really unpopular opinion here and that format has low rankings, but I really would like to see another Fresh Meat, because it is where most favorite cast members come from.
Fresh Meat I - Kenny, Evan, Diem, Evelyn and others
Fresh Meat II - Cara Maria, Laurel, Theresa, Brandon
You may like them or not, but they all are pretty fanfavorites or atleast interesting cast members.
Because watching right now, what is happening. It is just sad. I feel like I have noone to root for anymore, especially at the guys part.
Kenny and Evan are banned(is it like 100% true, like settlement said that they can not attend to challenge ever again?)
Derrick, Landon, Darrell and other good and strong are doing other stuff, god knows what Wes is doing. And now it turns out that CT is planning to leave?
I mean, who we have left?
I am not really fond with new guys. I know lot of people like Dustin but for me he is like most boring person ever, you can not compare him with old vets! Zack has potential, but lack personality. I liked Frank but peopel are saying he is done too. (***** you frank! :()
We have Bananas, who is winning most of times anyways, so that gets boring and I heard some rumors that he is planning to quit also.
I am sorry, but I am not impressed and no wonder ranking are dropping.
Atleast girls are okay. CM, Theresa, Laurel, Nany, Camilla and few new girls have some personality and they are good. I am so sick of people when they suck.
I do not know, sorry being rude but I wanted to rant it out. I reallllly loved challenge and now, I am bored.
I wish MTV would take that risk, make another Fresh Meat and bring some interesting people to the show. And cast some normal ones, who can do something too! I swear to god, if I see another Jessica or Dustin there, I am done!
And I do think there would be some interesing pairs. Zack, Cara Maria, Johnny R, Leroy, Nany etc.... (btw, why havent bananas done FM before?)
(sorry for the mistakes, english isn't my first language)
