The real culprit in all of this is MTV, the same network that once upon a time refused to play any AA artists' videos just because. They've been sending out a certain message for quite a long time & you still see it to this day with how/who they cast these shows + the archetypes they always go for. It's all by design.

As far as the challenge goes, I don't think that had anything to do with Esther and Big T being targetted because didn't the entire team want to vote for one of them. Even Kayleigh, who did a whole speach for no reason about why only those two were being talked about and not Nicole and Jenn, only for her to vote for Esther.
