I agree that the finals are too difficult and confusing in my opinion. In the past challenges the final challenges were fun and competitive.
Theo Von just posted on his Twitter and Facebook that the reason why he doesn't do challenges anymore is because of the ridiculous final challenges. He even posted a video of a short recap. They need to stop making the final challenges insanely difficult. This is a Real World/Road Rules Challenge..Not Survivor!!
Theo has a point and it's not lost on MTV. One can easily point to one of the root causes: an executive producer who measures the final challenges against his SEALS experience. A few months ago, I believed Duel 3 was the next intended format. Recent evidence points elsewhere with a different casting model and another modified format. MTV needs to reach out to Matt Kunitz for advice on challenge creation. In short, more MTV leadership & less BMP involvement...

What else can they do next? They already did Rivals & Exes. Best friends? But then a lot of people would be out. I am just so tired of tired of pair challenges, I want to see an individual challenge or a team challenge.

So, I guess BMP will just stick with this pair stuff. On the Derrick podcast Mark Long said something really interesting. Rivals and Exes did so good, bc the format was very easy to understand. Pairs that had an relationship/rivalry must join forces to win this challenge. Very simple, whereas FM2 (too much focussing on Kenny/Wes and not the newbies and why do they need newbies?) and Cutthroat (randomly picked teams) were not.
Well he still gets asked and thats what he said on why he would never come back. The finals are too crazy now. The finals he participate in were really difficult but they didn't risk one's life! It's absurd now.
Honestly, the final challenge really stressed me out man. Why would anyone want to do ANY of that!? It was giving me anxiety, but maybe that's cuz I was wasted when I watched it.
Did you guys watched **** they should've shown? I don't now, MTV could just called it The Johnny's **** they should've shown who episode was about Bananas! Anyway, it made me kinda surprised how they didn't dq Robin about that accident with Paula toothbreth.

I wish they would do a Hunger Games version of the challenge with paintball guns...heck they can even do a Fresh Meat match up with dead tributes, since they were killed off and all. If that were possible, which it isn't, I'd like to see Wes and Alexander (Cato) together, Laurel and Foxface, Rue with pretty much anyone, Thresh too. Anyway, just dreaming...
To everyone who said I was reading into Johanna's comment too much, I'd love to post a tweet she wrote to me in regards to me wanting her to be on another challenge but from what I read online, I don't wanna sit there and follow through the steps. Maybe there is a more simple way to do it and I just don't know but for those who doubt- she talks as if she's above it. Plain and simple.

Pairs limit the amount of people we get to see on the challenge because the pairings of exes and rivals only apply certain people and in that case... the same people (which is why half of the Rivals cast was on the Exes cast).
I don't know why so many say Rivals was much better than Exes. I thought the whole rating spike at the end of Rivals was because 1) It's summer and nothing else is on & 2) The CT/Laurel/Mandi drama. Exes was much better because 1) No stupid 2 minute head start on the last leg of the final challenge 2) No challenges where one partner did literally nothing, like episode 7 and 8 of Rivals. 3) The Power Couple aspect made the "mob" votes irrelevant. 4) All the eliminations were physical, unlike episodes 1, 3, & 5 of Rivals. 5) Iceland was a much better twist than Patagonia was. 6) No challenges on Exes were as dumb as a long jump and a 1 minute random kayak ride. and most importantly 7) Every couple was up for elimination every episode, which meant every team was always trying in the challenges, unlike episode 4 of Rivals.

In my mind, only Cutthroat is not limited. Because for FM, you can only cast (10-12) old challengers and the other half you do not know how they draw ratings or how you want to present them to the viewers. Battle of the sexes would not be fair if BMP keeps these water challenges and lately it is all about the actual challenges and not really the drama. Battle of the season is also limited, only 2-3 people from each season. The problem I have with Ruins, there isnt really good challengers (men) left (that we know) that has not win a single challenge and would have a chance to win against the champions. (Leroy, Cohutta, etc. only showed potential), so this is also limited and most of the champions team people would hate plus it would be the same people again... The problem with Cutthroat that I have is that the teams were really just random picked/casted, only a few good challengers and the rest was just ehm... So I think, BMP will just stick with these pair challenges, bc beside of a "Duel 3" or a "FM vs. RR vs. RW Cutthroat style" none of these past formats would draw ratings again.

Not all physical elimination rounds are equally entertaining. I found the puzzle from episode 5 of Rivals (Jonna/Jasmine vs Sarah/Katelynn) to be more entertaining than x jumping of exes & Paula/Dunbar vs Emily/Ty.
I wouldn't want elimination rounds to be always physical. The point of elimination rounds is that it's so risky because it could be anything. A puzzle, endurance, physical..etc. That way a "weaker" player could beat a "stronger" player which is always fun to watch.

I concur.
Who ever does the editing/sound bites for these show nowadays is absolutely terrible. If you watch episode 9 of Battle of the Exes during the Jet challenge, you'll hear a female voice say "Come on guys! Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!" about 15 times. It was absolutely ridiculous and extremely annoying. And its funny cuz if you watch episode 1 during the challenge, you'll hear the same exact sound bite.
Yesterday I watched a couple episodes of Real World DC out of my love for Emily. I had only seen two episodes before, the one where Ty shoved Andrew off the balcony and the season finale. I think that whether it's out of lack of interest in them from BMP or if they're turning them down it has been a huge oversight to not have Andrew or Ashley on a challenge. I'm pretty sure Andrew hasn't gotten the call because he said on Derrick's podcast that he's wanted to do one badly. The only opportunity he had was Cutthroat but if it's a non themed challenged next that kid needs to be on it. Even if it's BFFs...put him with Ty.

I think Andrew would be hiliarious on a challenge. However, I hopppppeeeee it isnt BFFs for the next challenge.
There's no way that next challenge would be BFF. BMP is not an idiot. That's why they always put diffrent seasons and repeat same formot once like in 4 years. I think we will finally see Duel 3.
Oh, so I take it you have experience in casting? It goes far beyond just saying "I want Veronica on the next challenge". Mind you, BMP doesn't have the power summon cast members on command. You can "come up" with the most ******, sickest, most awesomest cast this series have ever seen. But actually CASTING them, pulling them out of their real lives, and getting them on TV (signing contracts, papers, making arrangements, etc), good luck buddy. It's NOT as easy as you think. Fans might "out cry" and "demand" to see, for example, VERONICA on another challenge, and BMP can try, but that's ultimately Veronica's decision. And honestly, some of the cast members that fans are "out cry"-ing to see, are happy with their lives outside of the show (hence why we see the same old cast members every season).
But here's the thing that bothers me though...Many castmemers have stated that they want to do a challenge but yet NONE of them seem to be getting asked. You're right they have to have people who WANT to do a challenge. They can't make anybody go but at the same time when you have people who are just DYING to get on the show. Why not ask them? They can still cast the usual suspects(John/Paula/CT Etc) but at the same time build up a new generation of challengers because, Just as the 1st wave of challenge vets (Mike/Coral/Theo/Darrell) have moved on with their lives. The 2nd wave of Vets(John/KennyEvan/Paula/Evelyn) will move on with their lives as well..**** some of them have already.
I feel like 'the second wave' of vets is moving too... Remember those days when we had been seeing Kenny, Evan, Jenn, Brad, Evelyn or Derrick on every single season? From the Fresh meat 1 to the Fresh meat 2 Kenny skipped only Duel 2! And now I hardly imagine will we ever see any of those guys again. I don't really believe that we will see Johnny on the next season too. I think BMP understand that people are sick of him (lots of bad comments from fans, when he won twitter was blowing up, everyone was so ******). Paula? I give her 2 more seasons. Wes? I bet he would be back after disaster on exes, he is not an idiot, I think he understands that he has very weak chanhes on those days. I think new generation is on the way to take the lead: Leroy, Dustin, Ty, Emily, Mandi, Laurel, Cara Maria etc. No wonder I will miss the second wave of vets, but first was the best!
Wes will be on pretty much all of these. From what I understand, he's good friends with the people in production. CT has to be back. He's a huge draw. Johnny needs to take a break, but I doubt he would. He's making too much money. Paula needs to retire. Although she's a fame ***** with nothing else going for her, it seems. That anti-social guy from RW San Diego 2 seems like a natural fit. Of course, MTV will probably cast Frank instead. They need to stop casting Tyrie as well. He's literally good at nothing.
I can see Wes, CT, and Paula doing challenges until they are like 40, like with Mark. I hope on the next challenge they ask Zack, Ashley, Sam, and Frank from San Diego. I would love to see those guys on there. I also hope they bring back Heather and Dustin. I just really want the next challenge to be a team challenge or individual. I'm tired of all the partner challenges. Also, some one on here did make a point that BMP for whatever reason is just not asking people that are BEGGING to do one or another. I always thought it was smarter to have fresher faces on these things than the same people. I think another ruins with CHampions vs Challengers would help solve that issue, or bring back Vets vs Rookies, which might solve the issue even more.
I think another ruins with CHampions vs Challengers would help solve that issue, or bring back Vets vs Rookies, which might solve the issue even more.
And thus create extremely lopsided teams.
I have no complaints on the format. if partner challenges keep the ratings up and keeps the challenge series going then im all for it. But as far as who i want to see on the next challenge: Ayiiia, Jemmye, Priscilla, Zach and Nany.. those are probably my top 5.

CT is hard to say - he is a fan favorite and people want him back, he said that he really liked challenges, however I don't see the guy being 40 and still doing this stuff. And the rookies, there a few that I see coming back and doing more than one (Leroy, Nate, Zach)
And thus create extremely lopsided teams.
I dont think a champions vs challengers would be lopsided, I mean a challenger team consisting of CT, Leroy, Zach, Emily, Laurel, Diem, that doesnt look like a bad team, then throw in like a Dustin maybe someone from the new Real World

I agree with a lot of people have said so far, the reason production hasn't done another big team challenge or Duel 3 is because it would require them to cast the average joe player from past challenges. The reason why the past two challenges have been Rivals and Exes is because it weeds out people that the majority of viewer's don't really care to see again (Luke, Danny, J.D., Shauvon, Melinda, etc.) Because who would you pair Luke with on Rivals or Exes? Or J.D.? Or Shauvon? There is no one. The number 1 and 2 things that boost ratings are rivalries and hook ups. That's why they did it like that. What they could do next, I have no idea. People keep throwing around BFF's but it would bring no drama if everyone got along.
