Would they even bother asking Mallory back? She only did one season and was pretty boring on it the 8 episodes she lasted
Idk but they have bother asking Melinda back for three seasons & in those 3 challenges she has been blah like Mallory was on her first/only challenge.
Celebs watch these shows, too? Sweet!
Celebs watch these shows, too? Sweet!
George Clooney has said he watches RW and the Challenges when he is working on a movie somewhere. Beth and I were seated next to him at Citronella in the lower west side in NYC the night before her last Reunion show taping.
Celebs watch these shows, too? Sweet!
I am pretty sure I heard somewhere that Leonardo DiCaprio watches them too. He is a huge reality show fan (though I think it is more of the spectacle that people make of themselves that interests him most)

Myself included. The fact that celebs watch these shows is so fascinating to me. Is that weird? Lol.
I'm open to the idea of Cutthroat II, but on the grounds of pre-determined teams. I like how they actually got to choose the teams, but I think it'd be much more of a eye opener to see Old School vs. New School vs. Rookies. Rookies being people who've never been in a challenge. New school being people we see every challenge. Old School being people like Coral, Ruthie, and Alton.
I've been wanting to see that format for ages! Unfortunately, my definitions of "old school" may be a little skewed. Personally, I'd define "old school" as people who did their first show before Battle of the Sexes too, which is when they started casting the same people over and over and over. People like Robin, Derrick, and Brad came from that one. I also feel like that was when the rookies need to earn their stripes mentality set in. The real old school people stopped doing so many after that - Coral, Veronica, Rachel, the Miz, etc. I mean Katie Doyle's still around and CT but they barely make that cut. I'd throw the next division up circa Fresh Meat or the Duel but that would probably need to be pushed back some.

Basically JEK against the actual people we want to see.
I'd consider old school to be pre-Fresh Meat. Basically JEK against the actual people we want to see.
The problem with old school and new school is that you would struggle to get enough old school people to participate and they would probably get destroyed. They are older than JEK and they don't train year round like them. It is something that sounds better than it actually will be unless they go back to the less physically demanding challenges they had in the past.
The real old school people stopped doing so many after that - Coral, Veronica, Rachel, the Miz, etc. I mean Katie Doyle's still around and CT but they barely make that cut.
Why is it that Katie "barely makes the cut"? She first appeared on the Gauntlet 1, which was the seventh season of The Challenge. Yet, you included Rachel as one of the real old school veterans, who first appeared on The Challenge one season prior to Katie (Battle of the Sexes, 1). I don't really understand that.
I'd consider old school to be pre-Fresh Meat. Basically JEK against the actual people we want to see.
1. Who is "we"? 2. Who are the "actual people"? 3. What is the first season you watched?
1. Who is "we"? 2. Who are the "actual people"? 3. What is the first season you watched?
I remember watching The Gauntlet, but the one I remember the most is The Gauntlet II. We as in the general population of challenge fanatics, and people like Coral, Dan S., Mike, Theo, Katie, Beth, Nathan (IMO), Adam L., Susie, Shane, etc.
I want to see a Challenge so different that the politics/experience/expectations fly out the window from day 1, but I know it will never happen. I don't care what the Challenges are just so they are different--a wordsearch during a tethered skydive would be funny and different; or an Easter egg hunt; Bobby Flay deciding who made the best burger; something.....
Same here. It's not even so much the politics that I'm bored of, I'm just tired of every Challenege it being the same people making it to the end. I'm hoping (if MTV renews, which I'm pretty sure they will) BMP does something to switch it up. As someone who's been watching The Challenges for many years now it's becoming the same things since the same people compete and the same people make it to the end and win the money.

If you take the last three challenges. Cutthroat: The finalist were Brad (last challenge was the Ruins), Tori (last was The Duel 2), Tyler (last was G3), Dunbar (last was The Ruins), Emily (DC) (first challenge), Jenn, Abram (last was The Island), Cara Maria, Laurel, Luke, Sarah The finalist that were seen the previous challenge were Jenn, Cara Maria, Laurel, Luke and Sarah, but neither of them won Cutthroat. Rivals: The finalist were Johnny, Tyler, Kenny (last challenge was FM2), Wes(FM 2, too), Leroy, Mike (both the first), Evelyn (FM2), Paula (FM2), Laurel, Cara Maria, Jenn, Mandi M. The finalist that were seen the previous challenge were Johnny, Tyler, Paula, Laurel, Cara Maria, Jenn and Mandi M. Only Tyler, Laurel and Cara Maria and Jenn made it to the final on the previous challenges and only Tyler won. BOTE: The finalist were Johnny, Camila, Diem, CT, Emily S. and Ty Yeah beside of Diem and Emily S. all of the finalist were on the previous challenge, but only Johnny made it to the end of Rivals which he won. For all the other it would be the first challenge win... Same cast (Ok thats right), same people in the finals every time(Nope) and the win it because in the last three challenges we crowned ( 5 or 6 ) new challenge winners. Thats very impressive.

Lol I don't understand how you're disagreeing with me, if anything you're proving my point. Kenny, Paula, Wes, Emily, CT, Johnny, Evan... it's all the same people. And I don't dislike any of them, they're all awesome competitors but on the same note it would be nice to see the game switched up and let people who don't typically make it to the end, make it to the end but that's not gonna happen if they have to continue competing against people who have done a billion different Challenges.
It's been like this. I'm sure people were tired of seeing Veronica, Rachel, Miz, Coral, Abram and Theo win/be in the finals.
Ugh, the Fresh Meat challenges are more about the girls because the guys are generally even. The Cast even said that! It depends more on how the girls perform since the girls' abilities have a HUGE range (Ex. Casey to Aviv). Kenny was deemed as the weakest player on The Inferno 3 by the cast and he sucked in the missions besides the one mission he won ONLY because he was sent into the Inferno. Alton lost the final due to Susie and Cara sucking and the ****** team having more guys. I don't doubt Johnny's ability he's really strong. Evan has proved himself also many times.
1. Kenny won 2 life shields, one after he was sent into the Inferno, and one on the Hook Me challenge, right before the final Inferno. 2. The Bad ***** and Good Guys had 3 guys each in the final challenge.
It's been like this. I'm sure people were tired of seeing Veronica, Rachel, Miz, Coral, Abram and Theo win/be in the finals.
I honestly don't think that many people were. The difference between them and the clowns that win now is that they were actually fun to watch. We didn't mind seeing them in the end every time because we actually liked them as characters. They were relatable to people, but most of the people now aren't at all realtable!
1. Kenny won 2 life shields, one after he was sent into the Inferno, and one on the Hook Me challenge, right before the final Inferno. 2. The Bad ***** and Good Guys had 3 guys each in the final challenge.
Yeah and Susie and Cara hindered the good guys team in the final while the girls on the ****** team were strong (Tonya, Ev and Janelle). Yeah but Kenny didn't do well in the other missions. I have that season on my laptop and the ****** team said Kenny was their weakest player and would even rather see him lose in the Inferno. He's not a horrible player but he's definitely NOT in the top 5 or even top 10. He has a great social game for sure though. Aneesa made fun of his performance on the Duel 1 after show saying he's SO uncoordinated and not a great swimmer.
1. Kenny won 2 life shields, one after he was sent into the Inferno, and one on the Hook Me challenge, right before the final Inferno. 2. Come on, give Kenny some credit, I know having a good partner helps a lot, but you can't say that Ev and Davis would be as good as Kenny and Ev. He did average the all season, but when he had to he really steped it up a notch.
I think it was a rivals aftershow where Johnny makes fun of how uncoordinated Kenny is. Johnny says Kenny has good endurance for long runs, but if it's a sport like basketball that requires eye hand coordination, Kenny isn't very good.
He didn't say that. He said that Kenny is not agile, but if comes down to pure strength Kenny is a bull.
Adam King said it best when he said Kenny's a finals guy where he's great for a final but nothing to brag about really outside of that. There are a few people who are like that but Kenny's the clear example. I personally think the guy's average at regular competitions, but I have to admit that he probably had the best Final performance of any specific person in all 22 seasons of the show with Rivals.
Who the **** is Nathan?
Nathan Blackburn from the Seattle cast.
I dissagree. Kenny is above average in missions, and yes Kenny is great at finals, he is like top 2 in my book, along with CT he is the person I would have with me on a final challenge. S.N: I think he is the challenger with most final appearences.
Derrick had Mark on the most recent podcast and he said that he thinks that from now on BMP is gonna scrap things like the Gauntlet and Inferno in favor of doing themed challenges like Exes and Rivals because they think it's more user-friendly for the casual fans. That doesn't really make sense to me. I agree that it's easy for a random viewer to get the concept of "these people hate each other" or what have you but you wouldn't know any of the backstory and, especially in the case of Rivals, you'd barely be able to tell for some pairs. I'm not sure how that concept is easier for a casual viewer to understand than Rookies vs Vets or every man for himself. I'm personally hoping they don't do a challenge where the cast has to fit a certain theme because it seems to severely limit the pool they can pick from and if certain people say no they have to grasp for straws (Nate/Priscilla, Katelynn/Sarah). You can get the drama that they hope to achieve by just having certain people there...you don't need pair them and have a format surrounding it. There was more Wes/Kenny and Adam/CT explosiveness on FM2 and D2 and G3 respectively without them being paired just like there probably would've been between CT and Diem on D2 because their breakup and issues were fresh. Most of these people seem to be adult enough to just put it aside for the competition and they aren't really achieving the drama factor.
