If the next challenge isn't the duel, then I want a new format where it's Real World vs Road Rules vs Fresh Meat or Old School vs New School. I think those 2 formats would bring a lot of old players back.
I could see BMP and MTV doing The Duel 3. I believe that would bring a lot of authentic veterans back since its an individual challenge. The Duel was a fantastic season, but The Duel 2 was lackluster. Sadly, I believe the majority of the older viewers of the show have moved on. I can't see them focusing "old school" since the new viewers will be confused. I like how BMP and MTV have been throwing the older viewers and/or obsessed fans bones by having people like Veronica, Darrell, Tonya, and Katie on The Ruins and Ruthie on The Duel 2. I think that's as close as we are going to get to "old school".

I'd love another one like The Duel 2 since it would at least be bearable unlike a good chunk of the newer ones.

I think there was only one challenge that was individual. If all but one challenges were going to be partner challenges, they might as well have paired teams! It definitely aggravated me. Politically and socially, it was boring, too. As much as I loved Paula on her season of The Real World, the drama between her, Dunbar, and Kim was pointless. The season revolved around "the list", while The Duel didn't focus on "the list". I liked the Island because it put the cast in such a unexpected location and it changed the dynamic of the game. I can definitely see The Duel 3 being a strong possibility, but I believe it should be strictly individual challenges. I believe it should be one male and one female winner safe from elimination, but they shouldn't have to be partners. I believe this would spice up the game by having someone like Jonna work with Wes to decide a person to possibly save from elimination and start "the list". The Duel 2 "pre-deliberation" was dominated by Landon and Brittini, who were always partners in the challenges. I don't think BMP would go for a Battle of the Sexes 3, and I don't see them going to a new format again for the next season since Rivals is new.
So there is one more challenge to be filmed correct, and then thats it if the contract is renewed...
So there is one more challenge to be filmed correct, and then thats it if the contract is renewed...
Rivals is the last challenge on the contract. Then they have to see if it will be renewed...
Well I hope Rivals keeps up the rating it had last week or do even better. That way the challenge may be renewed.
Katie said on Derricks podcast that Trishelle wants to come back. Robin said Mark wants to do another and she will do another one too.

Several people from the earlier seasons have told me they would love to do something like that under the proper conditions.

I've been wanting something like that forever! Hopefully BMP will hear that idea and want to do it.
They should put FM on RR side though, otherwise there's no way they can get a RR team as good as the RW team would be.

Bringing in a handful of veterans, like they did this current one, and mixing them among more recent faces they know works, but a completely old school season would kill the franchise if its not dead already. These kids who are majority of the ratings don't want to watch a challenge season of people their parents grew up watching.
They should put FM on RR side though, otherwise there's no way they can get a RR team as good as the RW team would be.
If it's 7 guys 7 girls I think they could get these people... Veronica Rachel Katie Tina Jodie Susie Cara Mark Derrick Darrell Abram Dan Shane Adam

The people I mentioned above weren't on tv that long ago that the newer audience wouldn't know who they are.

Regardless of the fact that i managed to watch back to battle of the seasons... Most of those people have appeared on a challenge within the gauntlet 2 maybe later...and some are more recent than others.
If it's 7 guys 7 girls I think they could get these people... Veronica Rachel Katie Tina Jodie Susie Cara Mark Derrick Darrell Abram Dan Shane Adam
The problem is probably atleast half of them wouldn't be able to come on the challenge, and because the RR seasons were so long ago it'd be hard to still get some of those people on the shows. I mean the only ones I can really remember from the last few challenges that came from RR except for some you already mentioned are: ibis, jillian, derek, tori and dan (viewers revenge)

I was looking at Mark's Twitter a few days ago, and someone tweeted him something like, "The Challenges aren't the same without Mark! :(" and he tweeted back, "Don't count me out!" So I think Mark would definitely return :)
I'm 17 going on 18, and i agree, the older days were better. I've managed to see Battle of the Sexes forward, but nothing before. The first challenge i watched was Batte of the Sexes 2 when i was in 5th grade and i have been hooked ever since. I eventually found all the previous seasons online and watched them, and i have honestly been bored with the recent challenges. I just recently went back and watched the original challenges before Rivals because i missed them. I'm not even really liking Rivals, i hated Cutthroat and i wasn't big on Fresh Meat 2. In my opinion the Challenges haven't been the same since Road Rules was taken away (Xtreme not Viewers Revenge) and they put in Fresh Meat. One of the things that does make me kinda mad though is that i can't see the old Road Rules and Real World seasons. I only know a lot of these people through the Challenges but i never saw their original seasons. That obviously wasn't possible given my age, but i wish there was an option to watch them since i never got to see them and i actually do want to watch them. The only season of the Real World i watched was Austin and Road Rules was Xtreme. But anyways the older cast was great, i liked the challenges better and they were just better to watch. It makes me mad that people don't know of how good the older seasons were that are my age though.
if these shows start to get better raitings, then they might bring back RR or someting like it..... I hope
if these shows start to get better raitings, then they might bring back RR or someting like it..... I hope
Jon Murray took questions from the audience during a panel discussion about the Real World at an event at the Museum of Broadcasting in NYC just before RW Brooklyn aired. He was asked about the possibility of bringing back RR. I expected him to say something like "never say never;" but, he actually said that BMP was finished with the concept.

I do hope they bring back the Challenges. Obviously many of the cast still wants to do them. I think Robin would be back in a heartbeat, along with Paula. I would also really like if they made a RW: Atlanta or RW: Detroit. Stop re-using cities.
I guess he agrees with me that Viewer's Revenge was just THAT bad :wink2:
I wish I'd asked him that question during the Q/A. Actually, shortly after the start of Viewer's Revenge, Murray inserted himself directly into the production of the show for some reason (ratings, story not meeting expectations, you guess) and became the hands-on production decision maker. I'm not really sure how he sees the outcome whether as "good," because he rescued it from disaster, or "good" because it proved that the concept was dead.
I don't know what the ratings were like for RR South Pacific or X-treme but it's just really hard for me to believe that the show was getting that bad of ratings. I think maybe if they didn't toy with the concept, it would have been better off. I'm sure if people really liked the whole "voting off" process. Viewer's Revenge was DEFINITELY a mess with the whole pit and pit crew thing. I think they tried too hard to make RR like the challenges and thats not what that show was about.

If they wanted Viewers Revenge to succed the best thing they could've done IMO was just go back to basics.....5/6 people in a RV. Traveling in a exotic place working together to win missions and get that Final Prize at the end. They really messed with the formula and that caused the Downfall of Road Rules.

If this show is at its peak... I'm hoping for the last oen to be like ABC's whipeout (but with drama of course). BMP needs to go all out with a bang.
This may have been answered already but is The Challenge series cancelled?
This may have been answered already but is The Challenge series cancelled?
It hasn't been renewed yet.
For RW - London for the next one and Challenge - New Format. Jersey Shore definitely finished Miami, so I would not want to see them return there. London, a lot of people dream of going there and even living there plus if they cast similar to the 4th season where applicants from other country can apply it would make it that more interesting.
