The Real World: Skeletons - Ratings

Ratings are almost the same as are you the one season 2 in overall rating (654k), 12-34 demographic (0.5) and 18-49 demographic (0.3) from pretty a reliable person when it comes to ratings:

Can't say I'm surprised, they did a horrible job promoting this season.

MTV and BM clearly want the show to fail. From the casting to the promotion everything was awful.

Do yall think more people would watch if they went back to the old format/stopped casting models and bodybuilders?

I know a lot of fans prefer the old Real World, but do you think it would hurt or help ratings to return to their old roots?

I think it would help. The average person doesn't relate to the people they've cast the last few seasons. I also think it would help if producers would quit trying to set up things like that obvious $800 tab is the episode last night.

When is the funeral?

Season 27 of The Challenge should be Battle of the Ages. 40 cast members. New School vs Old School. Call it a wrap. Done. Franchise goes out with an ever so slight sense of dignity and closure.

I think MTV will let The Real World leave on a good note instead of just cancelling it so I say for Season 31 take them back to New York where it all beginned and end on a good note with no twist or anything.

Now if casting could only get their shit together.

i watched last night in hopes of challenge commercials...which i got...and they were better than the one released online.  I won't be watching it again though...it was terrible...clearly they are trying to have real world with a jersey shore vibe...and i caught onto to that quick...when they showed the camera men and producers talking...i was like this is no longer the real world.

I really like this cast. They were wayyy more entertaining then Portland, St.Thomas, San Diego, and DC.

And if theyre not cancelling Are You The One? then theyre deff not canceling Real World

I think the only reason AYTO got  third season is because they were already casting before season two aired. I'm sure if season three fails AYTO will gone.

I like this cast a lot and thought it was a good premiere but they have ruined the whole Real World aspect of it. It isn't the same show anymore and it's a shame. They thought these twists and the new way of editing would help but it has lost viewers this way.

Damn. So it did horribly huh? I'm not even surprised. They barley promoted this season.

If it keeps up like this I think they'll do another season and then that's it. Then The Challenge will follow soon after.

Bmpneeds to know that they are rui ing ALL their shows

Back when the show was interesting each espisode progressed an estabished storyline.  Now it's like the episodes have no direction except for let's cram as much drunken drama in here as possible.

I also really didn't feel like the premiere let you get to know many of the cast. Ideally a cast is full of people with interesting backstories coming from different worlds and you spend the season getting to know the cast members, not simply watching them go out and get drunk. Don't get me wrong, I'm definitely a fan of alcohol, but I really miss seasons that you learn a ton about each cast member, what their past is like, what they're like as people, etc. And they all seem so one-dimensional - which i'm sure they're not as people, its just the way it's edited.

I think about this a lot.  The show fits better as a half hour format.  Even if they did 2 half hour episodes in a row on a night to make it an hour like they used to do with the challenge, it allows for more stories and progression to happen.

This season does have at least three interesting storylines, the question is if MTV will use them. You have someone who was bullied in the same house of someone who used to bully people, a former addict and someone with little to no relation to his father (which I can actually connect). But if Mtv decided to go for cheap drama they lost a great opportunity. I also want them to explore the accident and reabilitation story, it's about fighting and that's relatable even if there's no drama.

I cannot tell if a guy is attractive to girls, but I have my man-crushes. Like James Marsden and Gary Oldman (I know, weird...) I don't find Tony attractive in any way.

Not going to lie, James Marsden will definitely be my mancrush once Westworld starts airing.

Hell yeah, that show is going to be awesome!

The problem isn't the cast... I mean the casting sucks... but you actually have to get people to WATCH first. That's the biggest problem, nobody is interested to tune in or nobody knows about it from the get-go.  They don't need to know what the cast is like they just don't care to switch to MTV if it's not Catfish or the VMA awards. Even if they go back to the original format nobody would care unless MTV steps up their game.

All I can say with the ratings damn

BTW PinkRose, thanks for all the inside info Kiss 3

Tell me you blushed with the virtual friendly kiss and I'm not just making a fool of myself? lol

But seroiusly, thanks!

Between this and what Pink Rose just said I miss the like buttons. Yall hit the nail on the head. And as for Tony he is tall but drop dead gorgeous is an overstatement. Also Bruno needs to pay for that shit he broke. #Tunafish

I think this is the issue here. The Format of the show is not going to matter if people don't watch or don't know that it's on. Promotion is key here.

I also think that the very concept is just old hat now. I mean this show has been on for years and Reality TV in geneal has moved beyond The Real World. It's just not relevant anymore.

I can see that. A lot of the times when I mention the show I get the response "that show's still on?" even from people in my generation. I just selfishly hope it lasts a few more seasons so I can at least apply to be on it.

MTV as a whole is circling the drain. I miss the days of Shot At Love, Parental Control, The X Effect....even that godforsaken Your Momma joke show.

MTV is doing bad overall. They just don't care about their shows anymore. All they do is play ridicoulessness all day long and then show a new episode of a show without even promoting it.

They just don't care about their shows anymore.

That's not necessarily true. It's just the shows they do care about aren't ready for promotion yet, well, minus Eye Candy. I haven't watched MTV for a while so I'm not sure how promotion on that is, but the trailer was AMAZING.
