Live for the Moment

From the creators of Survivor:

Live for the Moment tells the story of someone who has experienced a life-changing event that inspired them to change how they live their life. We send them on a series of adventures which offer major thrills and life lessons on how to live a bigger, better life.

Airs tonight at 8pm on CBS.

Re: Live for the Moment

I am going to set my DVR to grab it, but I am not sure this is my cup of tea.

Re: Live for the Moment

Alright, so I am watching. I'm such a sucker for these sad yet happy reality shows.

Haha, me too :)

It doesn't hurt that it is on CBS (best reality programming, period) and Jeff is hosting. They are pulling out all the stops. I mean, Buzz Aldrin as a NASA tour guide? Sweet!

(I'm a few minutes behind. Just started watching.)

Re: Live for the Moment

Jeff does sound like he is still on Survivor. It is kind of funny.

Re: Live for the Moment

Wow, I will say it was more powerful than I thought it would be and affected me much deeper than I thought it would.

I was definitely welling up. It's a great feel-good story. I'll most likely be watching it again next week, although I'm wondering what it's going to do once Survivor comes back in 2 weeks.

I will definitely watch next week as well.

It will be interesting to see the ratings tomorrow. I have no idea where they are planning to place it in the lineup.

Edit: Ok, it is not on next week. It is the greatest moments of Survivor (Surviving Survivor.) Live for the moment was listed as a special. They are waiting for ratings feedback.

Yeah, I saw that on Probst's Twitter. I guess that explains why they didn't have an "on the next" after the episode.

I didn't see too much promotion for this (and only knew the show was on after reading an article from EW) so I'm not expecting killer ratings, which is sad.

I remember a lot of buzz last January when it was first announced and then it just faded (I think most of the buzz was based on the fact that people thought Probst would leave Survivor.)

This thread was how I found out it was airing tonight...

Re: Live for the Moment

Here is what concerns me...

Future episodes might feature someone who survived a plane crash, or a former athlete that was paralyzed. It’s all about people who have come to realize that life truly is short and we should all be enjoying our days as much as we can!

It sounds like a sales pitch rather than "we have these in the can."

Of course, I always read into things too much and have not done the research on this show.

Re: Live for the Moment

I totally forgot it was on! I'll have to catch it online tomorrow!

But...we warned you :(

I didn't see this post til now =(

Re: Live for the Moment

Jeff Probst had to learn a very hard lesson last night: Fans simply don’t like to watch him in shows that aren’t titled Survivor. Last night’s Live for the Moment special got beat by everything in the demos…even repeats. 4.7 million.

Ouch...

I think part of it can be chalked up to bad marketing. I didn't know about the show until Thursday afternoon.
