Chuck: Ep. 2 - Chuck Versus the Helicopter

I thought that the entertainment value of episode 2 fell off quite a bit. There was more action and less comedy. What laughs there were only garnered a lowly giggle from me although the scene with the table cloth was quite funny.

It seems as though they are trying hard to make this a comedy/action hybrid and in truth they should just really focus on the comedy part.

The previews for next week look good, so I am going to keep rolling with this one for now.

I have to say that I'm a little hooked on Chuck.

Zachary Levi does a great job in it, although I can't help but still picture him as the pretentious, tight sphincter Kip on 'Less Than Perfect'.

Chuck is the only thing that I have seen him in and I really like the way he is playing the role. He does such a good job, it is hard to see him as the person in the IMDB photos that is not an uber geek...

Trust me, he did an excellent job in "Less Than Perfect". If you ever find a running of the show, watch it. He's excellent!

Re: Chuck Episode 2

I thought there was still a nice balance of comedy and action. Where most of the comedy is coming during the action.

For some strange reason that car gives me a good chuckle every time they use it. It's just a funny looking car. lol

The only things I'm not too keen on are the secondary characters: the sister's boyfriend/husband and the best friend. They seem pointless to the plot at this point. The best friend adds a bit of slap stick comedy but not much.

I felt that the helicopter action scene was a bit overextended. However, Zachri Levi is so funny in his depiction of Chuck that it mitigates a script which is in need of some minor refinements.

The only purpose I see for the sister/boyfriend is to be the butt of the "There are super spy things going on in this room that you do not know about" jokes where they just play oblivious innocents. I don't see much character development coming in the near future.

The "friend" is funny at times in his extremely small role although I get no pleasure at of his intendedly funny interaction with the sister.
