Chuck: Ep. 05 - Chuck Versus the Sizzling Shrimp

Once again I found this episode to be mildly entertaining and there is nothing else in that time slot I'd rather be watching. However, I still feel that most of the jokes are not hitting their mark.

It seemed like a large portion of the show was devoted to the storyline of the support characters (Sis & Morgan) and even though I know that it was supposed to be touching being that they were bonding over Chuck, I found it predictable and boring.

As for the action this week, I am starting to get the impression we are going to see a similar scene every week with a different background. What ground breaking stuff! - yawn.

Zachary Levi is great in his role as Chuck and I also think that Adam Baldwin's (Casey's) interaction with him is why I am still watching. Yvonne Strahovski (Sarah) just looks really stupid in that German Beer girl outfit and I don't find her to be as convincing as a super bad ass spy. I think they need to bring her back to where she was as a character in the pilot (More leather black sexy outfits with Sharp Knives as accesories, less Old Navy Commercial feel.)

I do realize this is meant to be very campy stylistically and I can appreciate that, I just wish they would work a bit to refine the jokes and create slightly more dramatic "spy" situations with less fluff and superfluous "Enter the Dragon" rip-off scenes...

I'm going to have to agree with you there.

Chuck needs to be more nerdy.

When this show was advertised I thought it was a comedy. It is a comedy and campy, but not nearly enough.

Very predictable thus far.

"Chuck we are going in....stay in the car/van....I mean it...no matter what stay in here."

trouble ensues Chuck wrestles with should he or shouldn't he go and help them...He does, and somehow bumbles his way into saving Casey and Sarah

I still enjoy watching and hope it doesn't get canceled at the end of the year. but the writers really need to step it up.
