I need some help with a slow running computer...it takes quite a long time to pull up the screens I visit. I do not have very much stored on the computer, in fact the most I haveis pictures.

Is there anything I can do to make the computer run faster, something I could delete or add on Maybe?????

This is a very complex question because it could be a wide variety of issues that are causing performance issues. Anything from faulty hardware to viruses and spyware.

I'd start with checking for spyware.

Then run through this list as provided by Microsoft: Restore Your Computer's Performance with Windows XP

I would also recommend downloading and installing CC Cleaner to give your computer a quick clean.

Finally, you can run a free test over at PcPitstop which can diagnose basic system issues and point you in the right direction as to how to resolve those issues.

To be honest, I hardly ever try and speed up computers when they start suffering performance issues. I always just reformat.

It is actually slow right now, lol. It usually runs anywhere from 200-2000 users online at any given time, although most are just lurkers.

Bacchus I have a question for you, for some reason SR comes up very small, so small I cannot even read it. Is there something I can do to make normal size again? My nephew hit some buttons once and did this to Vevmo too, but all I had to do was restart and it was back to its original size. For some reason its not helping this time!

You can try hitting CTRL + or CTRL - to increase or decrease the font size (if that is what you are referring too.)
