Today is Tuesday: You Know What That Means - Chat! Did I just date myself, lol? Busy day in the its household. Kids are having a presentation at school that parents were invited to and it looks interesting, so I am thinking about that. However, that would likely mean giving up a rare chance to get errands taken care of and I have returns to be made. Daughter has play tryouts after school and I told the music teacher I'd watch the auditionees while she auditioned them. Another daughter's play practice was moved from night time to after school because of the 5th grade parent orientation tonight, for which two kids volunteered. One of whom is suppossed to be at his wrestling meet this afternoon which I am suppossed to go to while I am also suppossed to be driving youngest to religious school and picking middlest up from school late and taking her over to religious school too. Of course the match was moved to the hs too while the practice stayed at the ms. His coach, gotta love him (erg) said he'd put him closer to the front so he could go volunteer tonight. No one checked with me as he has homework and I've pickup schedule and wanted to watch him wrestle. Anyhow, I feel tired already. Oh, maybe that is because I already put up two loads of dishes and a load of laundry, plus other sundry stuff. So how's life by all of you? Off to change the laundry (don't hate me because my life is so glamourous, lol.)

Re: Today is Tuesday You Know What That Means Chat OMG, ITS that just cracked me up. I do hate you because you sound like a better parent (I want to say mom, but you never know. ) than I am. My laundry is still unfolded, the clean stuff ... and the dirty stuff is still on the laundry room floor waiting for a turn for a spin. Dishes...yep they are still dirty stacked in the sink waiting for a bath. I was supposed to do all that last night, but it turned out to be a chat night on the computer for me and someone...won't mention any names kept me up until 2am! My daughter finds her way to all her extra curriculars on her own. We live in a small town and she's 12, so I try not to feel too badly about that. Basketball tonight and tomorrow, curling and Girl Guides on Thursday. Heck I'm just glad she's participating in stuff. At her age I did nothing... Could be why my ass is so fricking huge! Books, TV and Boys were my life at that age. Thank God, computers were not common household items (well I guess they were, as I am only 32. LOL but not in our house) then, otherwise I'd never have gotten out of the house. Anyway, I should do some work. Or something.

![]() A wrestler ITS?. Best thing I think I ever did. Taught discipline. Strength. Focus. Athletics in your formative years are are a very good thing. I am not doing much beyond waiting for the heat wave. The guy on the weather channel says it is going to be above freezing. ABOVE FREEZING! I have my slingshot bathing suit ready and plan to jump into, then tan, in a snow bank. Ok....I made that part up. You probably did not need that mental image in the AM...lol. |

Re: Today is Tuesday You Know What That Means Chat Awwww Kathleen! Don't be so hard on yourself. That is a normal looking household. I know that because that is usually my household, lol. Doing all the laundry does not get it folded. I have a pile waiting to come up to be folded and a pile on bedroom floor waiting to be put in the right drawers. I have more dirty on the floors (or in my case in my laundry sorting bins) of the basement too. Plus, before I did those two loads of dishes, my sinks were overflowing. Hence the need to do all that. I am ticked at the kids too because one of them is on unloading and another on loading the dishwasher and I gave up waiting. The only chore they ever seem to do is set the table and that is I would eat without them if they didn't take their turn of it. They will also do garbage recycling if I sit on top of them about it. Other than that it is usually hard to get any help out of them and believe me I try. I rotate their chores and I have 3 to pitch in. I occassionally will get a dusting or a vacuuming and because it is not a chore, I will often get a can I help with dinner making. All that to say normal normal normal. As to the kids getting to activities, I am overprotective. They would have to walk down the street alone if they took the late bus home as the bus won't drop them in front of the house for the late bus. If I let them be they'd be more overscheduled than they already are, but juggling three with my overneediness to protect them makes that impossible. Today is a scary world, but I am sure your daughter is much better balanced than my kids. I worry that I will make them afraid of life and have been trying hard to let go. I also like to watch the kids in their activities when they "perform", the wrestling meets for example. Anyhow, different styles for different people. It does not make you bad or me good or me bad and you good, it makes us us. I hear you on computers. They weren't common growing up. Do I see a romance in action complete with blushing and denials, lol. Yep Bacchus, a wrestler. If I am being honest though, he isn't very good. OK, he pretty much sucks. I adore how hard he tries though and although he has yet to win, he doesn't get pinned to often. He has a lot of health issues that make it great that he tried though. Like low muscle tone, asthma, ect..... He did football over the summer (you know the one that parents pay for.) At least he stands a little chance in wrestling. Oh, and Bacchus, since the only image I have of you is a buff superhero (one very good at deducing,) that wasn't such a bad picture, tee hee hee. Where are you from? It is pretty cold here too. I was going to go to the outlet mall, but I think I've lost my desire.

Re: Today is Tuesday You Know What That Means Chat Deny Deny Deny ![]() Seriously, though...I just want to squash that one right there. Bacchus and I, are just friends...Maybe in another life or another time... (and that's not helping to squash anything. LOL) But that's not here and now. I'm happily engaged. And very glad that I met Bacchus this past summer, he's been a great friend and companion for watching my favorite TV shows. Most times we get along.

Re: Today is Tuesday You Know What That Means Chat I went 0-15 my freshman year as a wrestler but turned it around and went 54-8 after that (5 loses my sophomore year) including winning county a few times, regionals and 2nd in states my senior year. It is an individual sport and has nothing to do with size if you have the mental acuity to defeat your enemy. It is not like I ever wanted to wrestle in college or anything. I just wanted to succeed at something, and wrestling is a great venue for personal challenge even if it is to just win one match. Keep praising him forward and if he has the determination, he can succeed (even if he is not the uber athlete.) Win or lose, it is the best conditioning in the world (besides cross country skiing) and it will only take 15-20 years to live down wearing those tights anyways. I know.

Re: Today is Tuesday You Know What That Means Chat I was just teasing Kathleen. SOrry if I touched a nerve. Bacchus, thanks for the encouragment. People keep giving me similiar stories, but I don't see the poor kid ever winning. Nice parent aren't I. I absolutely praise him though. And we talk about it and measure his small successes. He lasted longer before a pin or he didn't get pinned or even you lost by less points this time. He lost by 10 (to his 0) a few weeks back and said it was his best match ever, because he did better moves and felt better about the match. Oddly I had thought the same thing as he looked better that match. In it he actually knocked the guy to the ground and stayed on top for quite a bit before it was reversed. He keeps saying he is due for a win. I will be happy if he gets some points between the last two matches of the season. Baby steps. And by the by, no tights. They do wear tight one piece outfits though that really show it all. Just seeing him gain confidence enough to take the t-shirt off from underneath and not wear long johns and long socks to help cover the bottom is an improvement. You should see him in the team pictures. It is funny.

Re: Today is Tuesday You Know What That Means Chat No worries, ITS And no nerves touched either I just wanted to clarify. Maybe it wasn't necessary for me to do so, but a girl only has to protect her reputation, you know. ![]() I don't think you are overprotective of you kids, either. I have my baby home by 8pm. In the 7th grade this is cruel and unusual punishment, but I don't care. I sneak out early to her curling as much as possible because the rink is downtown. Her guide meeting is literally four houses away, LOL. As I said we are in a very small town. No public transportation. You can walk anywhere you need to go. When she was a toddler I lived in a larger urban town, but I moved back home because it's a scary world out there.
