Re: My Time Across The Pond

I promise you the Cole-Haan loafers were cool! I went to school in Alabama, I remember somebody saying, why does the music not have any words? One girl had on a long flowery dress with a perm in her hair. The funny thing is the Ravers loved us. We were such freaks I am sure.

We got back to the our London Hotel and this Pakistani man who was at the front desk came up to our room and yelled at us for being loud and one redneck in our group got in his face and said you don't yell at ladies in our part of the world. I am cringing and laughing thinking about it at the same time.

Re: My Time Across The Pond

This isn't THAT kind of a forum Bacchus.

That is funny about the no words techno thing. I made the mistake a few years back. It was my first time being to a trendy downtown club and we were in VIP where they played nothing but techno. The girls I were with knew the dj and went up to go kiss his ass because apparantly knowing the dj made you cool, and he got all pissed when I asked him if he ever played any music with words in it.

I haven't been to Ireland since I was a teenager, but I managed to get into a few 'discos' when I was there. People were wearing those huge platform shoes, the kind that Baby Spice wore back in the Spice Girls hey day. It was hilarity!

LOL. The techno thing cofounds me. My husband's loser college friend, who still smokes pot and trolls the parking lots at college bars at 2am to pick up drunk girls staggering out of bars, goes to techno coventions in Orlando. How cheesy. The whole DJ scene is after my college days, I am in my early thirties. That is funny about talking to the DJ, that is something I would totally do.

That is cool about going to a disco in Ireland.

Re: My Time Across The Pond

I hate you guys!!! Okay well maybe not hate, but I am very jealous of the two of you, I haven't been past Mexico...right across the border and I was about 10 then, hahaha. I was supposed to go to Greece and Turkey back in mid Sept 2001 but as you know those flight plans did not go so well...and after that I was too traumatized to even consider it again until now.
